From what I've been seeing CNN and MSNBC with many gay leaders and people interviewed, it doesn't look like LGBTs are making the connection.  We'll see after the initial shock wears off.

Yeah, we're a little too absolutist in our thinking, in general. It's funny you bring it up though because most of the day I couldn't help speculating that were I powerful enough to control the pieces on the world chess board what would I do to steer the game the way I wanted? If my aim was a socialist world government that stove to operate as scientifically as possible it would be necessary to do away with fundamental and irreconcilable difference that exist between different religions. Since this will likely prove to be an intractable problem then perhaps eliminating religion altogether would be the only way of possibly achieving this.

Because you were making it sound like England was the aggressor in a situation they somehow misread. They did misread it but not in that way. They were appeasing Hitler shortly before that.

Richard Overy does not absolve German (nor Hitler) of all responsibility- but he does make it clear that the allies may have a little more to answer for than most people believe.  I actually read a massive book of newpaper articles from WWII presented in chronological order and was shocked to find that the British were reporting their bombings (proudly, back then) as successes before there were many articles about Germany bombing them.  It was interesting to read the historical account in chronological order...
