I brought this up in a Facebook group. How many of these experts are just riding the Art Bell coattails and aren't experts at all, just telling a tall tale and seeing who bites at the bait. Any Jane or Joe can write a book and get on the air, it seems. It's like a pro sports league expanding to more cities and then wondering why there aren't enough quality players.

Yeah but with the added caveat that those people playing the sports are making no money but getting put in a public place in a sort of pseudo-fame.

Fame is a curse I wouldnt put on anyone...Especially now that we have these petty internet wars that are turning into people being doxxed, swatted , having their whole life examined under a microscope, saying the wrong thing and having internet hate mobs attack.

To have that level of stress and be making less money than a burger flipper is insane. Who really is going top do that for any length of time without real financial incentive?

It takes a certain kind of person who is so 'fame hungry' they would subject themselves to that without the reward of an actual stable and well paying career behind it all.

This is way off. If someone on here did a show - and it was any good - people would support it. Not everyone, but most would. People dislike HW because the whole thing reeked of bad faith from the beginning. Art gave us a turd in a bun and pretended it was a hot dog. It's the fakery that people dislike above all.

Dave, 9 times out of 10, I'll be listening to your show but there might be the odd show I might skip and may listen to Heather's guest.  I realize not every one of your shows will be my cuppa tea.  You are indubitably the best host that the genre of fringe/anomalous radio has now.  However, I didn't tune in every night when Art was host either.  Take for example, I'm not really into quantum physics so tonight I might tune in to Dark Waters on Heather's show.  It's all good.  It's nice to have the choices we have now on overnight radio.

We do Supernatural News on our Saturday program so it would then become a rehash of what we have already covered during the week. And in all honesty, there is not always enough news to report on each night

I can see where finding enough regular paranormal content might become an issue, but there are generally enough "odd newers" out there to fold in. And (not to try and turn this into a Coast clone) perhaps some rotating "experts" can be brought in to do short segments in specialist areas? My thinking is perhaps the first 15 minutes...
