Michio Kaku shows, Celebrity interviews, almost anything before 2001-2002 (aside from from subjects you shy away from, which I do as well)

You don't see those muthafuckas playing cops on "Law and Order" or hen pecked dads in "Are We There Yet", either.

Ice Cube is the black Brendan Fraser.

I heard it on a local radio station that was gleefully celebrating his demise on Friday Sept 13, 1996. I've appropriated it ever since...

I was more of a Geto Boys fan, they wuz my niggaz!

How can you not love a raw-ass rap group that had a gangster midget, and featured said midget with his shot-open eye-socket on one of their albums.  The real shit.

this is just silly.  if not for rush, i would have no CLUE who art fucking bell even is.  neither would you.  AM radio would be dead.  your local talk station would long ago have started playing soft rock or some other sort of insufferable bilge.  oh, and what were the choices on talk radio before rush came along?  larry king, morton downey junior, and sally jesse raphael.  nigga please.

Seriously?  You're seriously gonna just dog the MDJ like that?...***shakes head***...THIS... This is why somepeople don't like Rush's nuthuggers.

I'd prefer angel programming over guys that get all horsey around tack rooms and bridles or open lines with numb nuts or anything more about db cooper and comix.  How about a show about Redheads: why we love and fear them?

Depending on the host of that one, you could get some radically different show results.  Who would you want to see host the Redheads show?

Jeez Eddie, you sure are in a mood. Straight haymakers. Damn.

i still think this forum's admin is a power hungry queer with a small penis.

I still can't figure out if u are talking about about the dude with the moose vagina or King Blackbeard of the buttholes or post-apocalyptic Mel Gibson or the Queen of sludge or Linda Moulton Howe.

Can't stand them. Half the time the "EVP" sounded like an Air Jordan in a washing machine. The other half is sounded like Chevy Vega running out of gas.

It's hard to pin-point a moment or show where C2C jumped the shark.  I'm not positive about the Hale-Bopp issue, because the show was still pretty awesome even after that whole incident happened.  But when he left after the issues with his son, both in '98 and more specifically 2000, it started slipping slowly.  The first time when Hilly Rose took over, it was actually sort of cool again when Art came back, but after the Mike Siegal episode Art's return was less spectacular.  You could almost feel(hear) the toll the events had taken on him.  A combination of events and a loss of creative control to PremRad seemed to steer the show towards it's present course.  Generally, every time another host took the helm (except Hilly Rose - the feel might have been somewhat different but it was still Coast2Coast-y), the show took a slightly different direction.  The more time he spent away, the more it went off course.

Yeah but, she is a Filipina I bet when Art put the Uh Oh stick in the No No cave she rang his Bells (pun intended).  As to the bad back, reverse cowgirl is always an option.

Yet more proof that CG has the classiest posters on the web.

Um, where the hell does this come from?  Eddie is sometimes cynical (maybe even mostly cynical), but thank god for members like him.  This site would be a hell of a lot worse without people like him - it would be hundreds of pages of nothing but "Art rules", "George sucks" and "global warming is hoax, but aliens are real" posts.  It would look a hell of a lot like the old Fantastic Forum site, in fact.

I hope you stick around, Morphia, and think Eddie's responses nasty and childish, but you resorted to name calling first.  Glass houses, and all that.

By the way, Anagrammy lurks here every day.  And if there was ever a poster who would "dominate" a thread, it was her.  She would post 500 lines about a pimple on her kid's ass, for Christ sake.  I don't think there was single thread, or single topic, on which she didn't have an opinion (no matter how tangental or immaterial).  At least Eddie is succinct, and doesn't spam every thread 40 times a day.

Again, hope you stay, but if not, I'll see you on the dark side of the moon.

There have been a lot of times where I have disagreed with your opinions, but this one - whoa man!  Nail on the head.  Kudos for having the hangers to express it.  Keep on.

It's nice to see a panoply of opinions here...I'm never going to win any popularity contests, but I shall not alter my way of thinking for oversensitive souls. I honestly can't imagine trying to tell another poster to "stop saying that"...they are fucking opinions for Art's sake.
Well except for Frys Girl...who is undoubtedly posting from the rec room of a state run facility. Just kidding...even her ill informed, sub-moronic posts deserve to be here...not that I'd read them...

I think you are pretty swell.

Clearly you are important with more than 1500 posts-but I have read three of them and you seem "odd" to me-*newbie. And no I am not investing time in discussing or arguing with you-yeah a little indulgent on my part.

I am a total newbie as well.  I just signed up to this site on Monday and boy are my fingers tired!

Careful, you'll be accused of being a corn-flake pisser with an attitude like that.

Whatever.  Hope is one thing, and I belive in it; lack of tangible relevant proof to create or instill that feeling of hope is also something I believe in.

I'm with Eddie on this one.  Art's done.

Quote from: Eddie Coyle on October 12, 2011, 10:05:08 PM

With the myriad excuses Art gives for not being on the radio, how would a Podcast be any different? While I agree that you can't predict what he does...I tend to believe he likes his current situation where it's all hopes and dreams...not grim reality. Some of his C2C's in 2008-10 were really substandard-the EVP people and Evelyn Pagalini come to mind.

Working for Premier has to depressingly soul-crushing...but maybe Art's lost his fastball.

Huzzah.  Although a podcast and the feedom that may come with it could light a new spark, I'm convinced HOF Art is done.  The shows in the time period Eddie mentioned were all disappointments for me.  Just wasn't what is used to be.  In all fairness Art was most likely not in "fighting shape" when he did the show, but still...

Noory gets a knuckleball every night from his boy Tommy.

So no spitball to start of the game? Damn, that's rough.  I wonder if he ever uses sandpaper and nail files, or just a little vaseline on the bill of the cap.

It's pretty much common knowledge that he will retire when he runs for President in 2012.

He's a parrot, a myna bird.  He just repeats what he hears from the endless stream of schmucks that come on the show.  He's embraced a couple of ideas and made them his little "signature" Snoorisms: "there ARE no coincidences...", "... I believe in adiabatic oil..." which actually means that he believes in abiotic oil but just can't pronounce the word.  Point is, I've never heard an original thought from Snoors.........

Agreed. Kaku is obviously brilliant, but i think he's a less than ideal ambassador for science. For geeks, yeah, people would glom onto him in a heartbeat. For non-geeks, I can't really see him inspiring the wonders of science in casual laymen.

I kinda cringe every time Art comes back for a guest spot because it's often Kaku that he picks. I wish he'd pick someone else like Brian Green (I think that's his name) or an up-and-comer in the science world that's got a little bit o' fire lit on their ass and want to spread the gospel of thermodynamics.

Agreed again.  I do hate when Art picks Kaku now though because I've felt they've said almost all they have to say to each other.  Except for a part of the tail end of the interview with question of new scientific developments,  I always get a feeling like "I've heard this before."  He is probably one of my favourite guests of the Art era,  but I'm sick of having the phrase "tickling the dragon's tail" randomly pop up in my head like 3 times a year.

I've always found his stories very nice bedtime listening. Which is what I use C2C for anyway.

Somewhat along the lines of what I would have said.  Voice makes me think of old radio plays and serials.  Plus, he's also a black belt in Judo.

Yes TPB's Rob Well haha.

Yep I agree about vanishing on 7th street but the start was good enough for me to carry the rest of the film (I like to weigh 'new' concepts vs execution). I will get chopper since I really like Bronson (in general love the fact of how nuts the real Bronson is). And yeah from the sounds of it you will not like Hobo with a Shotgun. Oh and I just watched Time Crimes (Spanish time traveling movie) which had the usual lack of explaining but the story and the just general execution of the film was good in my opinion (don't use English dubs unless you hate subtitles).

Thanks really appreciate the film recommendation. Anymore would be great and in general I like watching movies even if they aren't the 'highly' recommended (except cheese and gore).

Sorry fore the late response - I'm a hermit nd don't get too the electronic keypad magic screen thingamajig much.

Saw Time Crimes a while ago - thought it was awesome.  And I always watched subbed, unless it's 70's Kung Fu - that dubbing was Epic. Priceless. Classic.

List of movies:
Mother (Korean "detective" drama, quirky)
Flickering Lights/Lanterns  (Danish dramedy)
Flame and Citron (Danish WWII flick, godd stuff)
Adventures in Power (comedy about the "quest of an air drummer", quirky)
The Horde (decent Frecnh zombie flick)
Mutants (another decent French zombie/plague flick)
ARn:  The Knight templar (Swedish period pic/Crusades war)
Mesrines-Part 1:Killer Instincts
Mesrines-Part 2:Public Enemy #1 (Both full length French feature, gangster/life story)
Primal (like an Aussie version of Cabin Fever)

That's enough for now, although the list is much longer.
