Where is this "enlightened" free market located? I do believe that capitalism has provided benefits to others.
Like it or not societal morality is not something we will be rid of. I don't think the average guy in the west (I think you mean the US, but not sure) is anti-capitalism. I also don't think most in US are anti-socialism. Free markets have brought us cheaper and more than likely more sophisticated products than other models. At the same time those markets have exploited those where the resources are found, be they manpower or raw materials. I don't expect a system to have any regards, the people implementing the system should, first and foremost.

If I had to choose between exxon and the government I would choose our government every time.

But I hope journals are kept indicating that the inhabitants of wasteland were actually subjected to even worse cultural diminution than this mere atrocity known as "Married With Children"...somehow this seeming nadir would be surpassed! See, the impossible can occur.

Today the archaeologists discovered remnants with etchings indicating their designation was "Celebrity Rehab" "Larry the Cable Guy", "Jay Z", "50 Shades of Grey"...my word! Dr Zaius tells us that apparently Earth creatures of this era were of zero intelligence and amused by excretion.

In the next re-release of the the original Planet of the Apes, they will digitally replace the statue of liberty with Oprah. Same for the Kraken in the '81 Clash of the Titans. Same for SP Marshmallow Man in Ghostbusters.  All Oprah.

I never know quie what to make of articles like this.  I can easily believe company execs are stupid - or at least do stupid and arrogant things at times, that various people and companies involved will deny and point fingers at each other, that they will circumvent rules and lean on regulators and employees, try to do a coverup and enlist powerful officials to help them out, that they will make mistakes and be unrealistically optomistic.  It's hard to understand people knowing that a certain procedure previously failed in spactacular fashion yet did the same thing somewhere else.  Who does this.

If it happened like this, is it ego or some sense of entitlement?  It costs them money and puts them at risk.

I wonder why people aren't in jail - are they so powerful that even the D's back down when they are in power (I can see the R's doing so, but the D's?)?

But whether it was done knowingly as this implies, or if it was truly an accident, there should have been either a criminal investigation or a Congressional one, or both, and the book should have been thrown at everyone responsible.

It has nothing to do with D's & R's.  It's all about the $'s.  It's the party that's always in power because it backs both sides.

i can't properly articulate how unexcited i am about windows 8.  what's even more amazing is the fact that computers are my livelihood, and i've not ONCE even seen a device/computer running any form of windows 8.  i have felt zero interest in familiarizing myself with it at all.  i'm sure i'll be forced down that road soon enough, but until then, i'll pass.

windows 8 should get me a lot of business (at least the x86/64 variant... RT, probably not so much since it doesn't run standard windows applications).  all of this new code is surely loaded with unknown security vulnerabilities, and with the worldwide prevalence of windows, the malware is sure to flourish as a result.

I love the anticipation of hearing how unenthusiastic you feel about new windows/MS releases.  It's like a guaranteed giggle every time.  Although you've been more "diplomatic" about it this time around.

Jeremy Irons in a recent interview when asked about his pre-acting years as a musician in a band called The Four Pillars Of Wisdom:

"I played the drums - rather worse than Ringo Starr - if you can imagine that."

LOL

[attachimg=1]

I have it on good authority that Ringo Starr is "severely underrated as a drummer and was/is fantastic at keeping time with the beat.

Wow. Everybody usually has some sort of deeply buried, unknown trigger - hair color, freckles on nose, particular fragrance. And Flo plays as a smart, sassy, funny gal. But Flo as fantasy fodder? I'm trying to put her in a leather bondage outfit and it's coming out like Rosie O'Donnell in "Exit To Eden". And you know what that's like....

With you on that one.  Something about Flo's Hips & butt just says no to me.

Well done, you're as sick as I am. One quibble, however. I think Destro would be imagining a hate fuck scenario with Lady Jaye. He has to work with the Baroness, and I'm sure he has some feelings for her, he seems more likely to engage in diabolical situations, like a hate fuck.

Shame on Hasbro and what their creations did to our sordid minds.

I'll concede the point on Lady J(aye).  I guess I didn't want to cross any social boundaries or taboos in the scene.  So Destro is thinking about "skulling" Lady Jaye......

As for He Man, just yeah.  Beast Man (the ultimate bear). For pete's sake, Ram Man!  Mer Man was a pussy. Literally.  Just look at those lips, AND he reeked of fish!!!  Skelletor - Covered in bluish-purple with a smooth round head which stunk of old cheese***  Subtle undertones? I think not.

I wish those "GI Joe", knowing is half the battle semi-PSA's had covered this subject in 1985. It would have spared me broken blood vessels and early onset Peyronie's.

I've got the scene.

Destro is thinking about Baroness in a G(I Joe)-string, then he starts banging a couch between the cushions.  Smoke starts rising from the couch and he keels over in the fetal position.  Then Shipwreck and Quick Kick burst in through the windows, see Destro, and start laughing.  They walk over to his desk, take his new super-weapon, and as they are leaving Shipwreck throws Destro a tub of Vaseline. Then Quick Kick put his hand in one of Shipwrecks butt pockets and they walk out together, holding each other.  As they hit the door, Destro screams out "Now I know!!!!!"  Both Joes look at each other, kiss, then wink at Destro and say "And knowing is half the battle!"

Ok, so you are an adherent of an obscure branch of Marxism.  Given the, umm, less than sparkling history of Marxism in general in the 20th century - you know, murders of tens of millions, mass deportations, intentional starvations of whole populations, hellish prison camps for political prisoners, complete lack of freedom or human rights, the occasional genocide - how is it you assume anyone not agreeing with you in your theoretical training is somehow the worst type of racist rather than someone just not as educated and informed as you?  That is the case right - it turns up in nearly all your posts?

Thanks to (Richard) Marxism, among others, I has an almost completely sparkling 20th century history, personally.  I mean Right Here Waiting!?!  If that didn't help create billions of "shining beacons of humanity", I don't know what did.

Unfortunately, it's impossible to properly judge the true value of a socio-political system when it has never been implemented properly and honestly on a national level.  And I'm not sure if it is logically viable to judge one system by the mores and values espoused in another, especially when using selective historical evidence.

I had that problem in fourth grade...not from running, but a stubborn couch.

A redneck with a truck and an internet radio show once told me that a little vaseline between the cushions solves that problem.

I read something that said it's supposed to be a prequel.  Download just finished and looks good I'm gonna check it out then let ya know.

Cool.  I'm so 50/50 on this movie that it's like 100/100.  If it is a "prequel" and has anything to do with "the Traveller" & his spaceship from Alien, then I'm a 100% down with it.  If it isn't, I 100% won't watch.  Till Netlix.  Hey, that could be a Weird Al parody of No Sleep till Brooklyn.

Expect Hoagland to appear again soon on c2c to tell more how the movie has lots of hidden secret information about Mars and try to get Noory to watch the movie. :D

Watched 1. Iron sky, 2. 11-11-11, and went to see, 3. Promethius.

1. a funny moment or two but sucked
2. scary to a 3y/o, sucked
3. good popcorn movie, some fairly large plot holes, didn't suck

Is it (3) tied in any way to the Alien films, as far as story goes?

Hi all!

New here (although I've lurked for quite some time).

Only recently discovered Coast, and Art for that matter. I've been amassing a collection of audio so that I can relive the glory days of Art, and in doing so have come to ponder just how Coast went from what it was to what it is now (a shithouse).  I figured this would be the best place to continue pondering such things.

Anyway, I look forward to interacting with all of you, hopefully I have something to contribute to this site.

George Noory is a turd.

<3

Fucking time and the world happened.  We should have built a glass case around Art and his family when we had the chance.  Fuck it, I'm buying a HAM radio and hoping for the jackpot.

BTW, Welcome!!!
