That is interesting but not surprising. What is surprising is that someone at Yale and Princeton would do that study and that an APA journal would publish. For those who don't click on links to read here is a quick excerpt from the abstract:

I don't agree with all of his ideas and commentary but pretty good stuff, though the title is a bit incendiary, though was a historical movement and more acceptable/admitted term back in the day even by the parties involved, but now will guarantee that most of the public won't listen.

Dead on Pye.  The film industry has always been subject to politisation but not since the days of Joseph Goebbels and Leni Riefenstahl has it been used in such a focused and purposeful manner to sell a population on a radical, amoral and demonstrably retrograde political agenda.  At the same time it grossly misrepresents and even villianizes those who hold  traditional American values and who aren't interested in relinquishing their personal liberties and the Nation's sovereignty to a group harebrained social engineers who ignore the catastrophic consequences that actual practice of their dehumanizing political philosophy has produced over the past hundred years.  Fortunately all but the most gullible, unintelligent, maladjusted and parasitic among us recognize it for what it is. 

All the above holds true for the MSM in general and for the tenured liberal (read socialistic) academics who control the curriculum of the social sciences and humanities taught in our universities and who, having retreated into academia as the most congenial environment for their radicalism, have zero experience in the real world but continue to grow rich exploiting the uninformed idealism of our youth.  Ironically the latter would be the first to loose their cherished freedom to act as social critics under the totalitarian regimes that history proves inevitably evolve from the political model they advocate.
