Please don't confuse gallows humor for insensitivity to those that have been abused... that would be a mistake.

One minor fix:

Please don't confuse gallows humor for insensitivity to those that have been [actually] abused... that would be a mistake.

What's your point?  I actually created a new account as Art was coming back.  My original account dates back to 2012.   Besides, I didn't make this thread.   I do think it's funny that there is a TPB clip for nearly any situation.  But apparently that's beyond you.

Anyone remember that far out story he once told about driving around and taking an off-ramp that like went up into some alternate dimension?  I mean who tells a story like that.  Most people just end up at Costco eating pizza.

I remember that story. The best part was that he was driving a family friend's kid around at the time. Could you imagine him trying to tell this friend that he lost his kid in another dimension?

Yeah, I've never told anyone about that. Especially easy, since I was alone. I also hadn't heard that Streiber has a story like that, could you hook up a link or something? Thanks in advance.

"Uh, I'm really sorry, but I got off at the wrong exit and somehow wound up accidentally losing your kid in another dimension.  I won't sugarcoat this, because he will almost certainly be subjected to invasive examination by aliens, but there's a very good chance he won't remember the anal probing."

Sorry can't remember what show that was.  But I do recall it was with Art, probably a later c2c show, and I think he was just on to tell that story in the opening segment, i.e. he may not have been the main guest that nite.

And yes IB is right, he was supposedly with some friend of the family at the time.  I vaguely remember him describing said detour as if he lifted off the exit ramp into some colorful multi-dimensional space of sorts.  I was picturing the skies featured in the classic 1980 movie Flash Gordon.

That's nothing like my experience. Sounds tarted up.

I'm pretty sure this story figures in 2012, one of his more scary novels.

oh ffs. so was he representing that it really happened, or not?

You should have asked him when you called.

Both. He's told the story more than once, definitely. I'm just remembering that it's also now a fictional scene and part of a fictional plot, so your mind could go either way, really.

strieber has always given me the creeps. The other day on MITD he went on and on about sex stuff and with the same breath would bring up little kids. If I had kids I would not let him around them.

I don't remember this at all, but honestly, I am not surprised you don't have kids.

I'm not really interested in reading his books.

My recollection is yes, he was recounting what he felt was an actual event.  I wouldn't be surprised if what Nancy said is true, it was such a wild tale that it probably works better as fiction.  I wonder if the flying car scene from that Harry Potter book s somehow derivative of it.

I'll just wait another eighteen years and ask him, it's all good.

Well, whatever it was, either no one had asked him about it since then, or he was lying.

He probably wasn't lying. When is he on again?

Little Hater

Streiber told that story again the last time he was on with Noory, on February 1st.. I think it's bullshit.

When I heard the story, Strieber didn't mention any obvious difference in dimensions per se or the car leaving the ground, but rather that it was as if he had temporarily slipped into a parallel version of our world.  The most interesting part - to me - was the description of the modern day bas-reliefs of animals on a wall adjacent to a road/highway.  To be clear, he was not describing ancient pictographs, but something current that a city or state would create.

If no one knew the context, he might as well have been describing tax-funded ~Interstate Art~ that appears on bridges, overpasses, and turnpikes, all over the country.

However, these animals were exotic or strange or extinct.  By his description, I speculated he had come across modern art depicting Native American totem animals and that he had simply gotten lost, perhaps going in the wrong direction.  I am talking hardcore lost, like military planes believing they are headed back to Florida but have become so disoriented they are flying deeper and deeper into the Gulf of Mexico until they run out of fuel and add to the Bermuda Triangle mythos.

Okay.  Not that lost.  (picturing skeletons of Whit and child)

I remember it was nighttime when the drive occurred.  He might have said he saw road names that he didn't recognize as well.

When he was unable to find the wall later (perhaps only looking where he thought he had been) maybe it amplified the mystical nature of the art work.

This mural/art work and the pervasive sense of feeling lost is what I remember most clearly about that brief conversation with Bell.  I must have heard a different version than others have described here, but I do remember it was a very short phone call with Bell.  I remember the child of a friend as well, that he was taking home.  I think the child remained asleep, but am not sure.  He may have said the child saw the animal art.

I still lean toward the story being true, and that Strieber was only disoriented, and that those 3D creatures are there as I type this.

It was several years ago when I heard the story and my memory is far from perfect.  As the latest neural research indicates, unless you are cursed/blessed with H-SAM like Eddie Coyle, memories can turn out to be disturbingly plastic over time. Which should not come as a surprise, as you are having to recreate physical chemical activity each time you you go to retrieve it.  House of mirrors, baby.

Be that as it may, I don't know how Strieber does it, but when I want to shift to a parallel world, the photograph below is how I roll.  But my car ~does~ take to the wind.

Note that my Twinner also happens to be a Dick. I am consistent; my true essence travels through all worlds and dimensions as inexorably as gravity.

(By the way, Whit, I am so sorry for your recent loss.)

This seems a reasonable experience. This is the story I should track down. I'm not going to go so far as to listen to it with Noory, though. Fuck that noise.

Whitley,

The greys never told you that in the future that the penis is going to devolve into a little nub, like an outie bellybutton.  Everything your weiner does will be accomplished using your butthole.

The same goes for eating.  Take a look at those greys dude.  Do their mouths look wide enough to get anything into?  Hell no!  It's vestigal.  The asshole will be used for eating as well.  The asshole is the the way of the future and YOU have BEEN CHOSEN TO LEAD US FAIR ANAL PROSPECTOR!  It's all quite efficient once you think about it.

SPREAD THE WORD WHIT!  Think of it this way……you will save $ on toothbrushes.
The greys are probably grey bec they don't have blood.  How can a penis get erect without blood!

Everything around the greys looks synthetic.  Synthetics, especially plastics, are gland killers.  Without good glands, then hormones don't work and neither do immune systems.  Aren't hormones (especially the ones that control neurotransmitters) a big part of what make us human?  Because they control emotion, gut intuition, drives...

I think plastics are causing autoimmune disorders and hormone problems.  Insulin is a hormone, which plastic wreaks havoc on, causing obesity.

I think the greys don't care about any of this, because they don't have our spectrum of blood and hormones.  Maybe their immune systems were developed through research done on us, possible through some immunization protocols and plastics.

Without blood and hormones, what drives a grey?  Surely they lack gut feelings, attraction, love, anger...

Intellectual curiosity, to advance their science and intergalactic biology manual? Passionless, psychopathic sadism done out of a profit motive or to sell on the intergalatic illegal porno market to sick aliens who like to watch? To scare the other "aliens" into not messing with them: "look what I will do to Whitley- you wanna mess with me? Step off 'bro?"
