Snoory's book. "Worker in the Light" (or is it "Faker in the Dark"? I get confused) I'm burning it as we speak.

Mel of Mel's Hole fame.

I can just imagine how the interview with George would go. (squiggly lines indicating a dream sequence)

GN- "Mel, do you think that hole is a portal to a universe where it is already 2012?"
Mel- "Uh, no. As I was saying-..."
GN- "Hey Mel. Did you know that Disney had a movie about holes in the dessert? The name of the movie was "Holes"! Do you think they based it on your hole?"
Mel- "No.....anyway, the fire that started on the bucket of ice that we lowered is still burning and seems to be an renewable source of energy. In fact, one of the military people who was sent to investigate-"
GN- (laughter)
Mel (taken aback)- "George, are you still there? I was saying that one of the military-"
GN- "Iceland"
Mel- "Iceland?"
GN- "The country that 80's pop icon Bjork is from. That was the trivia question Tommy asked me at lunch today. It just came to me now (via Google)"
Mel-"Thanks for having me on tonight, George. I feel a headache coming on and better lay down for a bit."
GN- "Amazing!"

Hi guys! I guess the party's over here! I had the same problem yesterday and Michael helped me with this. Only I can see my e-mail address, not others looking at my profile. That goes for everyone else who can see their own address.

Art just posted on another forum that he may be doing another live show this month plus it looks like he is in negotiations with PremRad regarding a new Contract that he cannot talk about right now, looks like we will still have Art. :)

That's the best news I've heard all day!

Exactly ... and George seems to have a fear of OPEN LINES ... wonder why that is.

I heard from someone who called in that her call was screened 3 times, just to make sure of what she was going to ask George. He has to be spoon fed everything and have his hand held. Enough. Bring in someone like Art who can handle cold calls, who is not intimidated by anyone not there to kiss his ass.

George has claimed to have cured cancer in OTHER people. I forget one of the anecdotes, but the second one he said he was out at a restaurant with a friend of his who had throat caner. George said he put his hands on his friend's throat (he just had a feeling he should do that) and that his friend's cancer was cured. Oh, George is always telling whoppers like this. That's part of the reason I can't stand to listen to him. He has started to make my skin crawl with just the sound of his voice. Yet sadly, I like the paranormal and some of the guests, so I force myself to listen until I just can't anymore.

In the beginning, I gave him a chance. I must have listened for 2 or 3 years and little by little, I began to notice things about George that just got on my nerves, such as the time he admitted that he did not know that identical twins had to be of the same sex. Or that dogs evolved from wolves. Then there were the thousand and one times he cut off a guest to interject some out of left field comment. Lately, you can actually hear the stunned silence from the guest before they regain their composure and answer his innane questions.

He also seems to enjoy asking old ladies who call the show to tell him how wonderful he is to get out of bed and do things for him. He asked one of them to look out the window and tell him the weather. He argues with them if they tell him it's late or if they have difficulty getting around. He still wants them to indulge him. Very creepy. He even asked a caller one night to disturb his friends at 2 am to ask a trivia question. George had open lines and he asked a caller what movie a certain line was from. The caller had no idea, so George said it was alright for him to call someone. The calller said he lived in the northeast and it was 2 am. George said to call his friends anyway and tell them that he is on the air with George Noory. Noory is so full of himself it is appalling. I am not surprised that he could not be bothered to interview a potentially interesting guest (see post by Sillydog re:comic book writer friend) and instead wanted the person to draw George as a superhero. That type of selfish narcisism is stock Noory.

I like Ian and agree that he can do an intelligent show. He asks questions that are relevant and calls his guests out on anything that catches his BS detector. It did take me a few months to get used to him, I have to admit. In the beginning, I felt he was too goofy and was trying too hard to be funny. I have gotten used to him now and compared to Noory, is a pleasure to listen to. His guests as of late have not been very interesting, however. Still, he manages to do a good interview and at least I get to hear two grown ups having a discourse. Something that is not possible on Coast Monday through Friday. I also enjoyed Rollye, while she was there and am in heaven when that sexy voiced John Welles fills in once in a very blue moon.
