Well, as my karma would have it, I was laid off today...so I'll see when I can make it back in here to keep up the Noory bashing.

Wish me luck in finding something in this economy.

Adieu for now my fellow Nooryphiles!

Meegle

Meegle, I'm so sorry. And right before the holidays, too. That really sucks. I hope something turns up for you soon. Don't be a stranger. If nothing else, maybe we could get your mind off your troubles for a few minutes.

Did anyone actually watch this? I can't bring myself to. As curious as I am, I physically can't program the remote to that channel at 11PM. I think a visual Noory would kill me that late.

I saw the first episode-which was HORRIBLE, and the last 4 minutes of the second show. I tuned in long enough to see Snoory fall all over the guest, Fionna, like he has a snowball's chance in hell with her. If nothing else, George should go into comedy. He's already comedy gold when he tries to host Art Bell's show with a straight face and his 3x5 index cards.

If you watch that show Unexplained w/ George Noory, it seems like a paranormal infomercial, so I'm feeling what your sayin' Dan

I know. That show is horrible. I only watched the first episode and it was so bad, that I couldn't bring myself to watch any more episodes. Imagine Snoory's radio show, except that you could watch it. It's that boring. Everything about Coast is so friggin' lame these days, it's pathetic.

Even the pictures on the Coast to Coast site suck lately. When I first started listening to Coast a few years ago, I used to love the pictures. Now they are all so boring and unimaginative. Like when a co-worker shows you their lame vacation pictures and you have to slap a smile on your face and pretend to be interested.

I had to think of something to wake up this sleepy forum for my first post.  An outdated chauvinistic attitude always seems to work.  ;D

Hey, that's not nice! I would not have Noory's baby (even if I were a woman)... but I may have agreed to attend a UFO convention with Linda Moulton Howe if she were a couple decades younger.

This is a badly needed forum folks. I'm glad I found it.

Nobody in their right mind would.  ;)

The stigma of being Noory's bitch goes away after 5 posts, then you become his biggest fan. I know, it's only slightly better. I think at 100 posts you get something else under your name. Then at 250. So you'd better post and post often! The points system is under the forum rules or something.

http://nssdc.gsfc.nasa.gov/planetary/gemini_4_eva.html

On June 3, 1965 the late Ed White took the U.S.'s first tentative steps in space outside of the Gemini 4 capsule. Since that time nearly forty-three-and-a-half years ago Americans have been walking in space- and the Moon-on a somewhat regular basis. During that period of time an occasional tool or bolt has slipped from the grasp during an EVA, but until yesterday an entire suitcase full of critical space tools has never drifted away from our crack team of highly trained astronauts. Enter Heidemarie Martha Stefanyshyn-Piper.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heidemarie_Stefanyshyn-Piper

"As Heidemarie-Piper cleaned up a large glob of grease...the tool case somehow became untethered and floated away along with a pair of grease guns, wipes and a putty knife..."

Normally one would thinkl losing the equivalent of a steamer trunk full of space tools might cause a few NASA personnel to gnash their teeth, but thus far the reaction has been "perfectly understandable Heidemarie," no problem. In the natural scheme of life, if a lowly NASCAR mechanic had lost a socket wrench to Jimmie Johnson's car during a race, that mechanic would be working at a body shop in Furnace Creek, California. Why is the reaction so different towards Heidemarie, the first woman to be a lead mission spacewalker?  ;:)

ANYONE losing a casefull of tools should have their asses handed to them-male or female. However, to imply that she was the first to do so because she is a woman is just wrong.

I may go back to the frog - I made the green eye one myself but didn't' like it. Found this one - but EH!  It just showed up on a Google for "watching"

I dunno why we're playing "musical avatars"  -- but I think SpikeGirl stated it.  ;:)

I love all the new avatars, too. Keeps things interesting. I'll go back to my old avatar every now and then, but get bored easily and need to mix things up a bit sometimes!  :)

George just asked a guest if there is a location on the Mitchell-Hedges Crystal Skull where a "key could go in."

Witness firsthand the blithering master jackass of the known universe.  Surely it is some Freudian slip as to if there is some crystal orifice in which he can insert his questionable wedding tackle?

He talks.  He broadcasts.  He earns millions of dollars.

~Turn that key~, oh scryer.

Let us bray.

Damnable idiot.

ANYONE familiar with this carved "Carnival of Light" crystal would know the answer. It is one of the most tested "occult objects" on the planet (though I seriously doubt it is of Mayan origin.) The Mitchell-Hedges skull is so well known in paranormal, mainstream, and skeptic circles that NO ONE should EVER ask if there is a place in the skull for a goddamn KEY!!!!!

Such a fact would have surfaced DECADES ago, but this dickless wonder asks a question as if playing an extremely poorly designed campaign of Dungeons & Dragons.

Save me before I "rip my heart out on the stage" (Rolling Stones Mayan style) of this spectacle known as the "Traveling George Noory Show."  Yes, even now, I can see myself perched like a doomed bird on an ancient stepped pyramid, my absinthe laced blood flowing down to the natives who are tempted to create their own communion.

This is what happens when you don't tune in for a while ? you are exposed to a "new low even for Noory."

Another great post!  ;)

I caught a bit of the replay that KFI does from 5-8 am eastern time, 2-5 pacific time and drifted in and out between George's stupid questions. I was lucid enough to catch him comment that it would be great if the skull could project images and show us the mysteries of the universe that way.

Here's a mystery of the universe, George. How are you still employed?

Leave it to the Snoron to want to just sit back on his fat, cottage cheese ass and be shown the 'mysteries of the universe'.

The first couple of times she was on with Art I liked her- even her voice.  If I'm going to listen to a witch on the radio in the middle of the night I don't want her to sound like Snow White.  :)

If I was a witch I'd want to be strega like her and not a wiccan.  Wicca just seems so boring.  It reminds me of when Leela from Futurama decided she wanted to be a witch in the Wizard of Oz parody episode.  She said,  "...And be a witch like you? Yeah, alright. As long as I get to hurt people and not just dance around at the equinox."  :)

I agree, her 'predictions' weren't very accurate.  She's better than Ed Dames, though.  ;)

Well, anyone is better than Ed Dames. ; )

I am wondering if you have Sylvia and Evelyn mixed up. They both have the same voice, but Sylvia is the psychic. I don't know if you remember some little boy who went missing for awhile, then escaped his captor. When the police went to catch the man who had kept him hostage for so long, they found another little boy who had been missing for a few years. One time on Montel's show, Sylvia told his family that the boy ( the one police found) had been killed and told the family where his body was. It turns out she was wrong.

She was also wrong in saying that the miners that were buried in the coal mine January '06 were going to be found alive. All but one of the 13 was found dead. She was on the air when she made her prediction and also when they were found.

Paglini is the one who predicted a whole bunch of suspicious fires in California last year. She was right, however, there seem to be fires in CA every year, so who really knows?

What!?! That crap is on again tonight? I give it 2 weeks before it gets cancelled. I actually tuned in last night. You know how George phones it in for the radio show? He does even less work for the t.v. show.

I'm not sure how I feel about her. She and Sylvia Brown have the same voice. I like Sylvia, her now infamous misses on 2 high profile cases not withstanding. I don't think it's possible for a psychic to be 100% right all of the time, and when you are under pressure to make a prediction on the spot, it must be hard. You go with your instinct, but that may be wrong if you are not really 'feeling' it. I have some of her books and I've enjoyed reading them.

I think Art's wife was a practising witch, which is probably how he got sucked into the whole thing. I am not sure if his former wife knew Evelyn. I'm under the impression that she did. Anyway, I don't like anything to do with the occult, so I am not into her, but she is interesting, at the very least.

I'm not sure if I should laugh or gasp!  My own feeling is there are worse things than death - but I am anti-death penalty because of the number of people who are acquitted while on death row or after the fact.

As for torture (of the pre-planned kind as opposed to the prison culture kind you mention) MY main concern is for those inflicting torture.  It's very very scary what a human being will do when their peers encourage them to think it's okay.  EX: Can you image that "Lyndie the Beater-Maid" of Abu-Ghraib fame was the sort of person who would humiliate and torture men - and pose proudly for all to see as if the people involved were hunting trophies?  She may have been, but it's more likely she was not.  What kind of woman is she today?  That kind of expeinace is hard to leave behind.

I don't mention her becuase I think she was worse than the men - I mention her only becuase her moniker was the fisrt one that came to mind.

Still, it's hard not to think violence against people who do unthinkable things.

My issue with Abu Ghraib is that many of those men were just rounded up in a mass arrest or turned in when we offered money to sheiks. Nice way to get rid of your personal enemies, even if they had nothing to do with Alqueida. Sort of like the search for "Communists" back in the Mc Carthy era.

No, I am talking about actual murderers or actual child molestors, rapists, those who commit heinous crimes, etc. Generally, those who should not be allowed around normal people.

LOL. Pirate. I just mean it's a little um unchristian I guess to torture the criminals in society! I have  really Christian family member who gets offended at this type of idea so I guess that's why I said it! Also, revenge is sweet, but this is a bit much. Saw V was fun, but stupid. I mean, this cop is a disaster and I hope they don't have a Saw VI. for the betterment of humanity, no saw vi!

I don't believe in the death penalty because it is morally wrong. HOWEVER, I do believe in a little old fashioned torture for people who truly deserve it-like rapists, murderers, child molestors, etc. Screw them. I say we pass their virgin asses around prison.

Welcome Jenny! It's great to have some new blood on the thread. Your story sounds a lot like mine. I hadn't heard Art host that many shows by the time I started to listen to Coast on a regular basis, so was happy with the Snoron in the beginning. Coast is on from 1 to 5 am, my time, so I didn't listen every single night, but would catch a few shows a month. After 3 years of making excuses for him and all his faults, I finally realized that he just sucks as a host, period. End of story. The more I listen to him mangle and hack his way through each show and sometimes good guests, the angrier I get. Sometimes it's a slow burn that gets set off with just the sound of his voice.

BTW, the 'creeps' are the ones who LIKE Noory.

this week has been soo long on C"C. election 5 hour special was bad to worse, all the usual guests - it seems they have suddenly decided to try and boringize the show. i need GN to fuck off on holiday for a period and a few guest presenters to come in on it. at one point in the election show a caller trried to bring up a conspiracy topic and GN just darked them out going 'oh thats for another show, sorry special guest, you dont wanna answer that idiot' which i felt was going against the format somewhat. does anyone else feel they are REALLY taking this show in a direction that is nothing like the original idea? i know we have said it here before but it is really obvious to me, GN said the other day that the reason he got into radio was because he liked all the strange topics but didnt feel like he could ring up specialists out of the blue and talk to them about their field, so he got into broadcasting. what a bullshit story. like you would think 'right i like the paranormal, so what im gonna do is go to journalist school, then get a foot in the door of a radio station, then work my way up, then angle for art's job, then i get to chat shit to the same guests every month because i still wont get what they are on. and i wont bother reading about the subject either, ill let them tell me it.'

Noory's a bad liar and a bad host.
