Oh well Casio or what ever he calls himself today needs to start his own forum like George Senda.

Why did MV take the time to set up an "Ignore Boards Options"? So we don't have to see forums on the homepage that we're not interested in.

So he's OK with censoring entire forums, but not censoring obvious destructive trolls.

Got it.

i didn't realize boards could be ignored.  fixed.

Sure...and I must state that this is not a reflection of their character as a decent human being. No, it only relates to BG and their departures.

Onan, Eddie Dean, Jazzmunda and BDubb are the primary 4. Why did they leave? Well, they made it clear in their statements and podcast (Podcast Not Included???I forget). Basically, they felt their content and morality was superior to what they were seeing on the "new" BG.  They gave MV an ultimatum, which of course MV basically told them to go pound sand.

That's about it...they come back every once in a while. The vast majority, me included, would love to see them all post again. I even met Eddie in person in Phoenix, before a Rush concert. He was very polite, funny and enjoyable company. I personally have nothing against anyone of these folks.

Well, you never know...maybe they will come back and participate in the BG community. Or maybe not.
My recollection is at least two of these people despised the popularity of the Senda thread, and would regularly bitch about its traffic. That one of the more unpleasant/most colorless personalities of the site was a regular co-host of the Gabcast was always pretty funny.

At some point a lot of things become no fun to do anymore. I don't know what fun those guys ever got out of making a message board into a sort of repressive high school environment.

That one in particular acted like more of an old lady than the actual old ladies here.

Biggest buzzkill ever. We were talking about strippers on one of our short lived shows and he buzz killed the whole thing by bringing up how he went to a stripper once and saw all the scars from her cutting herself. As a matter of fact I am pretty sure bateman was on the phone with us at the time. Ugh. Way to kill the whole sexy stripper vibe dude.  >:(

we won't be so random this Saturday night when we focus on the Mayweather fight.  If you are a boxing fan put your prediction in now so Ed Dames can be pissed you were closer than he was.

Yes, I recall.  ::)

Semi-related: was reading this article the other day actually about the behemoth company that owns all the "tube" porn sites:

QuoteThe decline has continued since then, driving down fees and causing performers to look elsewhere to make ends meet. When South started in the industry, “I could count performers I know who did prostitution on one hand. Now I can count the performers I know who don’t do it on one hand.” According to Salon, while performers working as escorts was rare and frowned upon in 2000, by the end of the decade it had become common. Adult performer Houston told Salon’s E. J. Dickson last year, “If you look at the escort sites, pretty much every porn star is on there.”

tl;dr you can now have sex with more porn stars than ever before.

McGregor will go back to muscle memory and kick him in the head in the second round.

LOL nice. I think I'll pass on paying for it at this point. But I would love to date another ex stripper. Best sex of my life so far.  ;)

My salacious friend said there should be more sexy stripper gifs on podcasts. I'm not sure I agree.

Depends on the stripper I would imagine.  ;) Sorry MK I hijacked this thread to talk about strippers. As you were talking about the fight I believe.

I predict they will both make well in excess of $100 million each, and will hug in the ring after the match.

I've never even heard of these guys.  Is this boxing or one of the dumb offshoots?  If it's boxing, is is heavyweight, or one of the lesser classes?

yup.  they viewed the falkie thread as some sort of cancer on humanity and thought it was beneath them to even acknowledge its existence.  very unbellgab.

i think what primarily caused them to leave the forum (exception onan, his problem was politics) was the change in how gabcast hosts are selected.  as you'll recall, at one time, eddie/jaz/b_dubb were the regular hosts of every gabcast.  eventually, they brought ponyboysunset on and made her a regular, but for whatever reason, they immediately regretted it and came to me looking for a solution.  my solution was to use a "volunteer system" where anyone could host the podcast; no more "regulars," no more personnel problems for me fix, and no singling anyone out.  eddie dean/jaz/b_dubb were angered by this move, but i only found out there was anger because jazmunda told me.  the other two just silently stewed in their resentment.

when eddie dean started hosting the gabcast (episode two?), he opened a skype account for the show, which we all had access to.  the account had dozens of bellgabbers on its contact list.  naturally, they'd regularly contact me there for forum related stuff since, uhh, i own the forum.  when it became clear eddie had quit hosting, i asked him if i could take over that skype account since it made 1000% more sense to use it for bellgab administrative stuff rather than use my personal skype.  he responded to the request by blasting period blood all over a perfectly good computer monitor.  in retrospect, i might as well have asked permission to date his mom.  he proudly informed me he "wasn't interested in doing me any favors" and the conversation didn't go far from there.  i would have started that skype account myself if i'd known it was eventually going to be held hostage like that.  weak.

How did Opie and Anthony make all those years hating each other. Ha. It's beyond my perception that someone could take so seriously what is basically a hobby, and make some grandiose moral/professional stand against George Senda, GabCast or a forum host (MV).

Tilting at Windmills I guess.

Ah, the history of bellgab. Who knew there was such intrigue here?  ;D I'm not into fights so I won't be joining the randomcast this week but I am sure I will listen in the future.

I still don't get leaving because of politics. But whatever.

We literally had hours of show meetings to do our crabby, ripped off version of the gabcast. I didn't get it. If and when I participate I usually have a list of topics to refer to and that's it. No long hours of show prep for something I do as a hobby. I don't get it either chefist.

Exactly...I probably put in around 1 hour getting MT together...and I'm laughing the whole time (as one would expect).  ;D

Oh well...ce la vie.

I will admit that I DID see the "no Falkie talk" type comments in some of the chats, and even in some of the upcoming program description posts, even in very recent days, but I decided to use my turbo mode privileges to gain access to the programming and the chats.  I will probably continue to do so...

Praise MV.

I also admit that I am hoping for an MV Gabcast sometime in the near future.

Oh, yea. I remember that. If I recall, you would get banned from the chat if you talked about George. God forbid if you brought him up when you called in. Ha

And that is exactly how it should be. If you aren't having fun doing it don't do it. I got approached by someone else to do radio last year but due to my anti/won't kiss Heather Wade's ass and my politics I didn't get the gig. LOL. It's hilarious to me that some people think she is a big name in radio. That's like saying I am a famous auther ::) What I have found is most of the time people have a script and they want you to stick to it. That never works for me, I am the wild card, or if you will a loose cannon when I do this. That's what makes it fun. Unless I am recording my music podcast then it is totally different thing. But even that is half-assed. LOL

At one point I remember seeing someone had commented in the chat that the username Falkie2013 would not be allowed to be used in the chatroom...    ::)

I think it should be spontaneous as well, a list of topics seems very adequate for show prep

Damn if that happened when I was hosting a show I assure you I knew nothing about it. That's not cool at all.

Thanks. This has caused me problems with other potential hosts too. They want stuff scripted out and bits planned. I don't get it. Also I had a few people tell me what topics I could talk about and what ones were too much. So hence I call in to shows occasionally if I am awake otherwise I just don't bother.
