Whats the arabic scribble on the al queda flag mean?

I am constantly drawn to the word "jews" written inside the white circle... I know it doesn't say "jews" but it sure does look like a stylized version of it...  Supposedly its some sort of proclamation of Muslim faith that Allah is the one and only god and Muhammad is the messenger.  I'm familiar with the god and messenger thing already... but still my American eyes see only the word "jews" in a circle with a bunch of little kid scribbling around it.

there's a few variations I've seen but this one seems to be it... some have more scribble than others it's weird.

It's the word rasul, which means messenger.
