Scientists at the British Antarctic Survey are abandoning their research station for the first time ever this winter after a new worrying crack developed in the ice sheet.

An oldie, but a goodie, from ten years ago. Wednesday - January 17, 2007.

Never more relevant.

One thing is certain: no matter the actors, this is one very long con.

One of the marvelous things about earth.google.com is the way it starts up, with a view of the globe of Earth from outer space.

Then, the camera begins to rotate and zoom in on one's geographical location. If allowed to proceed, it'll go from space, to your house, which is keen. However, the Search function is available during these events, and unlike BellGab, it functions.

Another of the marvelous things is this:

Oh, yeah, look, it's coming right for them.

Surely there's nothing interesting at the new location that they'd rather not tell people was interesting enough to move a base towards.

One thing is for certain: if
Steve Quayle is slinging the hash, it contains corned beef.

Special Operational Knowledge, Third-Eye Knowledge, what knowledge or any knowledge?

ACKnowledge?

The Trivium does not accept given or imparted knowledge, one must accept this.

Proof goes *poof* under those rules.

Next strawman, appeal to authority notwithstanding the burden.

Your move, Atlas.

(apogees, but do better.  Do better, instead of trying harder..)

He makes it so hard to listen/find his shows though. But I do admire him keeping a website tech circa mid-90's likely using 'hotdog' HTML to write it, or Geocities, and black backgrounds and flashing "hot links" are oh so easy on the eyes!

From the Washington Post on Feb 15 in an article about space, they let it slip that Newt Gingrich is the latest high profile person to visit Antarctica:

Newt Gingrich, an influential adviser to Trump when it comes to space issues, is among those pushing for a more entrepreneurial space program. In an email to The Washington Post, Gingrich, who said he was on a trip to Antarctica, blasted NASA for becoming an agency that avoids risk, and said the space program should leverage the enthusiasm and money of the many billionaires interested in commercializing space.

In an event, Trump did indeed ask NASA if they could get a crew on the first heavy launch booster and Orion spacecraft and do a fly-by of the moon. Right now, NASA is doing a one month feasibility study to see how this will affect schedules and budgets. It may end up in 2019 vs. 2018 as currently planned if a crew is onboard. Reuters, Business Insider and others are reporting this. I hope it can happen.

Seems plausible. The SLS hardware is Shuttle derivative and the Orion has already gone through a pad abort test as well as an unmanned launch.

Software will be the biggest challenge. But it should be inherently safer than the first Shuttle launch.

The only other items needing completion and validation are the life support related (ECLSS) and crew systems (easy), just a matter of funding more than anything.

There has not been any schedule pressure on either because there is no clear mission defined. Obama cancelled Constellation and then Congress forced SLS and Orion into the budget but without a destination. Obama refused to go back to the moon because that was Bush's plan.

Now that this thread is completely derailed to the moon, might has well take a look inside the spacecraft. I wonder if they really will recycle the ACES suits.
