I lived in LA for many years, hey there is something for everyone. I listened to KFI a lot, Joe Crummey was one of my favourites, I think he was fired though. Even back then he was way too liberal for CC is my guess.
I might be able to pick that show up online, not sure. It would be interesting to hear Noory try to think a thought, without Tom holding his...errmmm, hand.
I don't have an iPhone, you bitch...LOL!

Yeah and then he puts on this creepy fake Boston? accent and answers Jessica?s call. He pretends to be someone else on the line holding to speak to George. This is similar to something Art would have done with finesse, and would have let the caller in on it eventually and had a good mutual laugh, but NNNOOO, not George. He?s really having a good laugh, all by himself as usual.

It must be sheer laziness on my part that I even listen. It?s just too easy to get up in the morning and download C2C and run oput the door with something to listen to, no matter how substandard it is.

Clear Chanel is such a piece of crap, but we can only pray that George is one of the 30,000 who gets axed!

The new owners of radio giant Clear Channel Communications will next week begin implementing a massive restructuring plan that seeks to cut $400 million in costs at the company, The Post has learned.
According to three sources with knowledge of the plan, the restructuring will include layoffs across the company's radio, outdoor advertising and international divisions as well as cuts to programming budgets and consolidation of back-office operations.
A precise headcount for the layoffs could not be obtained. Clear Channel has about 30,000 employees worldwide.

On the Jan 16th show, hour three at 23:00 minutes caller Elaine gets through on the bizarre story line. She recounts her 17 year old sisters death in a  car crash, and goes on to tell how she was compelled to turn the record player on only to realize it was set to a song about a fatal car crash, etc. Her story was absolutely heart wrenching and you could hear the tears in her voice and she describes how she tried so hard to be able to talk to her sister after her death.
How does George handle it? Well when she gets toward the end of the story in which she describes a voice shouting to her to turn the record player on that still had her sisters record on it and it turns out to be a song by Neil Young about a deadly late night accident, George cuts her off and says??Speaking of music, BTW, Tommy and I had an ?after lunch? get together (HUH?) with Billy Gibbons today from ZZ Top, & Billy?s going to put together a show for us!

Next??????.
Gawd, I wish I could just slap him.

Then he goes on to make a complete fool of himself with Jessica at 27:00. It?s pretty obvious to me why this man will never be married again.

Oh that is keen. I will go this year. Oddly, this time last year I knew nothing about ES. But after the coalessence festival I have been back several times.
Maybe we will run into eachother!
I have a friend down there so I manage to stay on the cheap, and if gas prices hold it will cost me very little. What a great way to spend easter:)

danDNA, you really summed it up colourfully. I wonder who Premiers competitors are though? I mean they are owned by real channel who has single handedly taken over vast markets in the US. Does anyone know who competes with them directly?

Ha, and this weekend for Saturday all we get is an Ian re-run. You'd think someone could just sit in for him, there must be loads of prospects that would jump at the opportunity, but maybe that really would be like getting a french chef in to cook up the tasteless McDonalds hamburgers. Wouldn't want to give the public the impression that there's anything better out there.

I really enjoy Linda Moulton Howe and think she does a very professional job.  I have seen her prsent in person at the Ozark UFO Conference and was very impressed.  I feel that she gives the show an additioinal dose of respect and you and I both know that it needs it at times due to certain actions taken by the Senior Sucketeer, Tommy Danheiser, being the Junior of the two.

Was that in Eureka Springs Angel? Are they having it again any time now? I like that little town quite a lot and am only a few hours away now.

George whittering on about how his father was born in Egypt, and how he promised he would go back there blah blah....to Dr. Zahi Hawass his guest.
Nov. 24th, hour three, at 10:59....George "TELL ME WHAT'S NEW UP THERE IN THE GAZA STRIP AREA?"

Hey, every night I become one step closer to becoming stupid enough to enjoy this show.
Not sure which thread to post this on, I am too illeterate at this point to figure it out.
Bloody hell.

Of course if Art comes back on XM, C2C is going to go adios anyways.

Is there some indication that this might happen?

I wonder WHY they are doing this new free e-mail magazine thingy? To attempt to further brainwash us into thinking that tonight might be the night something actually HAPPENS on the show?

Maybe this has been mentioned on another thread...but WTF?
I heard George mention this over and over on last nights show, and all I could say was ...NNNOOOO.
Is this considered "expressing interest?"

NNNNNOOOOOOOO, please. These bastards are spamming me now.
I  haven't had time to mention the excruciating details. It's so sad.
I am just glad a kitten doesn't die every time I listen to this loser slice and dice his occasionally intelligent guest.
Just when I was getting all comfy with the word MEH and how it was in the dictionary and everything now! George has to just throw it in my face, that meh isn't good enough. Truly this time I will unsub forever, I can't live the life of a hypocrite anymore. Man, I am so sad for coming back over and over, looking for something that doesn't exsist anymore. I will forever be an Art Bell refugee.

So beyond all of Noorys host faults like  boring, inane, and dense, Noory has managed to anger half his audience and place a barrier between them and his show via his constant political talk. I feel an odd anger, I feel like Noory took something that had become a huge part of our night lives. I understand Noory was selected but I can help but feel he took something that didn't belong to him and turned the show into something it wasn't.

Sorry to ramble but ths is the first place Ive found people like me.....

Art we miss you more than you can imagine.

Well, George seems to think he isn't alienating any of his audience by being "neutral" about the parties involved in this election. But what he is really doing is just not saying anything at all of any substance about any it. I get the impression that Art would be busy criticizing  AND also applauding both candidates. That's a way of being unbiased, while also DOING YOUR JOB AS A RADIO HOST. Come on Dead Time, cheer up... I mean didn't you hear those fascinating open lines on Friday when everyone sang TV show theme songs? Absolutely captivating, worth listening to again and again. NOT!
Anyway, welcome to the forum.

I'd be gob-smacked.  And, honestly, only partially pleased.   Art's multiple returns have become an awful tease. I'd be waiting, daily, for some new announcement on the order of his new family and life in the Philippines.

"I know how you all feel, my friends, but it's my life.  I've decided to take my wife and daughter and live in a yurt where Shirley McClain met the Peladians."

Oh okay, that's a bit mean - but the man has fucked with my abandonment issues.   ;:)

OTOH - if he started his OWN show once again, well - that would be another matter.

I thought that's what he was doing on ham radio but I never really could get to the bottom of that one. Gawd Friday night had my finger on the delete account button again. Georgie decided all this bad news was just toooo much, so he did open lines where people called in a sang their favourite sitcome opening song. It was so annoying it actually kept me awake.
There are some intelligient podcasts out there, I don't know why I subject myself to C2C. And I agree Eve B, Art has messed with issues I didn't even know I had! Dammit.

Art Bell used to scare the hell out of me all the time. I discovered him just after I moved to Sedona in 1996. After 17 years in California, I was a bit thin blooded for what I considered a fairly harsh winter there. I'd listen to him half asleep and have dreams that the grid had colappsed and we were all freezing to death. That is, when I wasn't working outside on large pieces of stained glass and waiting for the kill shot to off me, haha. I guess I like it, cause I came back for more year after year. I am SO annoyed with him for not doing ghost this year. It's gonna be so lame. Even if the stories are good we're gonna have to put up with all the, "HOW ARE YA"s, and "I love its!" Ugghhh.
Did anyone hear him the night he had Debbie Reynolds on? He said she was born in Texas at the age of 16. Man if she was 16 when she was born she must be really old by now.

I agree, this show has won me over. And yes, it made me believe things that normally I would not. And that is a lot like the talent Art had. Knapp doesn't have that wonderful rich quality of intonation that Art has, but his delivery is great. Comparing the weekday C2C to network TV really makes sense. I can't believe how much time they can spend on a subject and still come away with no substance at all.

And if some of the "powers that be" rapture along  with their bodyguards and all that would be a bonus! Haha.

Well firstly you have to e-mail your story so Tom can read them to George after he makes his warm cocoa with rum and tucks him in at night. Then sleepy little Georgie can mumble sleepily which ones he likes. I guess those people get called back or something. It must really take massive amounts of extra time to put a show like that together when you got no talent behind the mic. Ghost to Ghost will probably be about as entertaining as those bizzarre open lines George had the other night.

I had it, and I'd order it again, but I'm poor. And that stuff gets old after a while, too. I can only take so much Mary O. and Sylvia Brown.

Podcasts are the way to go, there are thousands. It takes some digging to find the good ones on topics that interest you, but once you get a good group going you will have something to listen to pretty much every day.

MYPREDICTIONWHENWECOMEBACK!!!!"         (FINALLY!?!?!?!)

Yeah SURE, HIS prediction. That was totally the viral meme for the day online, (I say he's counting on his captive audience that doesn't have computer access).
God, that was so annoying. However he did at least seem halfway awake for once.

Well, I see my exciting news has already been reported on this forum. Man, I can't get away with anything with you guys, haha.
It was worth it though, just for my new quote:)

JC 01-18-2008 George Noory

Added: 01/19/2008

Hey, I was looking for GN audio clips, and of course THIS site came right up, and linked over to this one. Surprised to see this conversation here, considering that the first clip I clicked on (listed above) is a conversation between GN and JC. Get THIS, JC asks GN if he's drinking Jack Daniels and GN says he doesn't drink, and JC says well that's not what it sounds like when you are slurring all you words. GN says, "I HAD A TONGUE DEFECT WHEN I WAS A LITTLE KID"! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I am ROFLMAO!

Now my reason for all this, (other than procrastinating all the stupid shit I SHOULD be doing) is that I wanted to run some GN through this cowbell site. I haven't done it though. But check this site out, it's fun:)

That's one of my sillysongs on there. I did it for my daughter because she wanted something that sounded like the Dizzyland Electric Light Parade.

I liked how the "Merlin" guest pointed out what a high % of the C2C audience wasn't actually online at all. George didn't want to talk about that, but then he he thinks he can go onair with his big new clever "prediction" when that horse had been turned into glue already... well, grrrr.

However, I will give him some credit, I think his is on the upside of his two week  cycle of Ritalin.
#204
I am too gobsmacked about how he claimed the insane amount of blogosphere speculation re: Obama and Hillary, was his "prediction.Bloody hell.
Just listen to it, it was old news by the time the show aired, and he wouldn't let his favourite number lady even go there, because HIS PREDICTION was coming up next hour. What an ass.
#205
Ohhh, I don't know, on streamlink it all happened pretty fast. I think I would have noticed if Deepak came on.
I might have to listen again...okay, I will make a point of that tomorrow.
My guess is a lot of that got edited out or something.

It's a woman,[edit: female of the species]I know a bitch when I see one, hahaha.
Noory has a lot of female fans that don't have two brain cells to rub together.
I hear rum, long term overdoses of prozac and drinking flouride straight, actually synergise quite well for getting through a show sans frustration. I'd say keep some valium handy just in case you're hard to knock out.

yeah I think that his name was Mr. Announcer Dude ... I would have rather they prop his corpse up in front of the mic to host CTC instead of Noory. Noory is like a corpse that talks and utters something other than just the word "brains". Which is ironic to me ... cuz it is the one thing he lacks.

Hahaha!
#209
Yeah just last week that announcer dude died, (sorry forget his name) but I copuld just see George rubbing his hands together. YAY, someone I interviewed died that means I can call the numbers lady early tonight.

After he whittered on with Hoagy and went to open lines, the very last call was interesting. He was mispronouncing the name Eliza... Eeleesa. This rather annoyed the woman and she firmly corrected him. I have never heard him laugh that much about anything. I bet he likes to be tied up and slapped around a little bit.

If I had to listen to George AND commercials I don't think I'd hold up.
I lead a sheltered life:)
