I heard some time ago that it was possible to stream C2C during daylight hours as some stations in the Pacific may tape the show for rebroadcast(stream online) for airing in their 12am-6am slot. At one point, I tried to get a Guam station which streams, but so far with no success. Any ideas appreciated !

There is a list of guests and past programs for several years back on the c2c website.
The only other list for c2c shows from the mid 90s to 2003 is on the Art Bell commerative CD that was sold back in 2003.
That CD has an archive of the old art bell website with that info.
I've often wanted to have such a master show list. My nephew borrowed my Art Bell CD and I have to get that back-wish me luck !

May I respectively disagree with my Coastgab friends about Whitley. I try to never miss him on coast and I have read a number of his books including Warday, Majestic, Communion, and Transformation. Yes, things get a little *far out* in some cases, but the UFO topic is just that; In some cases-as I believe Whit constantly intimates-we, as humans, cannot grasp that which we have no reference point. BTW, I always wanted to see a feature-length movie done with Warday. Warday is a great novel showing what the U.S. would be like after a limited nuclear exchange. Good day to all !

Local station WILK first ran Art on weekends, so I first got hooked in May 1997, listening with my 12 year old nephew outside a now defunct greasy spoon/truck stop in North Scranton where I would meet my sister after work for breakfast and watch the wildlife as they meandered into the 50s style restaurant. (Ha, maybe a fair demographic of those we hear on open lines today with GN)

That definitely was a great show, off the usual ufo/paranormal scheme, and could definitely be revisited by Ian or GK.

Milla Jovovich stars in the Resident Evil movies, she is from the Ukraine.

She was also in the scifi movie "The Fifth Element"
Yes, and let's not forget that ridiculous movie about the lady in Nome, Alaska a couple of years ago(forget the title?), but seriously, was the whole production company high, or did they not think the flip-flopping quasi-documentary would irritate the alleged audience they were trying to reach ? Hey, play it one way or another. All that was accomplished was to protrait the Mila Jovovitch character as the steriotypic close encounter nutcase.

Archive of Old Threads / Re: Day of Infamy

Speaking of such days, maybe Ed Dames could claim he predicted 9/11 in some way; he predicted some event(with Art) in circa 1997 where everybody would be looking upward at some terrible calamity.

Mothman was a scary figure, according to John Keel.

I have met researcher and cryptozoologist, Loren Coleman, who brough a mothman doll to the meeting.  I tried to but it off him, but he said 'no.'  Boo hoo.
Did the town look as it did in the movie ? Mothman might make a nice bobblehead for your car's dash-my 2 year old nephew would be afraid to go with me, however ! ;D

Radio and Podcasts / If not Art, then Who ?
August 20, 2011, 02:18:48 AM
Assuming for the moment that Art never returns in any incarnation to C2C, who might you be liking as a regular five-day-a-week anchor for the show, should GN abdicate the throne ? I don't know what Hilly Rose is up to these days, otherwise I could live with George Knapp(If we can finally settle the wild horse issue). What do you think ?

Who was it who said "Nobody ever lost a dime by overestimating the intelligence of the American public" ?
#11
Yeah, Mike. I'm a guy who's been around the block a few times and have seen people after they've been in a nasty car accident-yes, you can actually be ripped out of your shoes, that is no urban legend. The HBO show illustrates how you are treated as a "thing" by the authorities, and only those around you are left to explain how a person could completely "flip-out" and do such a thing as was the case in the presentation. The authorities disregard all that is said by your relatives and point to the tox screen by the coroner, completely discounting  the possibility of some cataclysmic event leading to this terrible incident.
#12
Could be, Mike, when there is plenty of room for more Minervas, Pearls, and Olives (!) ;D

Recently, I viewed this HBO documentary concerning the story of a woman who drove at high speed the wrong direction on a NY state highway and ultimately crashed and killed all but one of the children in her minivan. This is a possible whole show topic for C2C to cover in depth, as you could imagine, after your viewing. Why she did this was not resolved during the documentary and only the coroner's report stands as one possible avenue of discovery. Diane was found to have a high BAC of-I recall-of 0.18 and a high level of THC(from marijuana). My real shock was the showing of her body following the accident with her eyes wide open as if a part of the old production of "Faces of Death". This is something that has been creeping into the internet lately with little commentary from the media, although there was a story recently of a first responder being fired after posting a dead individual's accident picture upon arrival on the scene. My opinion is that this sort of conduct is way, way over the line by these ghouls and should be harshly dealt with.

Radio and Podcasts / Re: George Knapp
August 12, 2011, 02:02:28 PM
Personally, GK should be on more frequently-as far as I'm concerned Knapp could do both weekend nights. Leave friday to Ian. Maybe I missed it, but why  is the govt trying to end the wild horse populations ? GK had a most interesting show a few weeks ago about those gone missing on the interstates of Northern Nevada. Lately, I get the feeling that he has been steered away from his usual show motifs; hence, not too much on ufos, Cryptozoology, or such.

To paraphrase the "man", Mr Stanton F, RH still holds on to a bit of legitimacy in the ol' "Grey Box" IMO. However, should you mention RH in certain locales(forums) on CL, you'll be dismissed out-of-hand; RH is held in the same regard as the legendary P.T. Barnum.

Congrats Mr guildnavigator on noting the 6-5-01 "Bugs" show (I'm assuming that's the 4 hour version with Art.) IMHO, that was Art at his best that night as I was glued to the radio. The story-to me- was quite believable in the manner of Bug's tale-telling. Over these 10+ years, I've often wondered how many Amateur Cryptos have tried to find the general location of the incident, especially those in the Texas Panhandle general locale. Unless I'm wrong, Bugs related further detail of the location to Art as well as all the contact info should Art wish to meet Irl and seek his own answers and that's where the story ended. Or did it ?

Random Topics / Falling Skies and Walking Dead
August 03, 2011, 11:37:59 AM
I like both of the series; Falling Skies ends the season with a 2 hour season finale this sunday. The new Walking Dead season begins in october. I am not a fan of zombie/vampire flicks but have always enjoyed post-apocalyptic stories first enjoying the movie "The World, the Flesh, and the Devil" featuring Harry Belafonte and any number of others along that line. BTW,"2012" was not up to more than one viewing by me; I guess I'm old school and CG, when overdone, becomes cartoonish. "Inception" was a waste of film, but that's me. Your Thoughts ?

Whatever you think of LMH, she has one advantage we mere mortals do not have as the general public in ferreting out answers; that is her established 30+ year profile in investigating ufos, and the paranormal. Personally, I really enjoyed her interviews of the Air Force personel in the 1980 Rendlesham case. I would give her 3  tasks to look into: (1) Find the original family of the Skinwalker ranch for an in-depth interview. (2) Through the Titor family lawyer, arrange to meet the Titors with the caveat of maintaining their location and such private while getting the whole story out. (3) Revisit the Streiber cabin in upstate NY to see if any activity is ongoing and, ask the current owners to be interviewed.

I have a few: (1) Fraud or not, the Jonathan Reed show with Art in the late 90s.(2) Area 51 caller who alleged he was being pursued by MIBs?, then Art's broadcast was cut off as the caller was falling apart on the phone. (3) Whitley Strieber shows telling us of encounters at the upstate NY cabin. (4) The show with the Interpol assassin who, with others take out Child molesters and such world-wide. (5) Colm Kelleher original show regarding activities at the Skinwalker ranch. (6) Lastly, Art talked on open lines one night to a woman who encountered aliens in a lime grove as she was trying to retrieve her runaway dogs.

Yeah, a whistleblower hotline would be great. Who knows what calls have been sent into the ether forever because of the particular screener ? Would the Area 51 caller get on today ? or merely sent to a dustheap as some nutjob. I remember that night well, and how Art's broadcast was interrupted. I suppose my criticism of GN would be twofold: George lets someone with a shaggy dog story drone on forever, yet just before the '08 election Jerry Corsi had a breaking story regarding Obama and George cut him off at the knees, refusing to allow Corsi to go on. And here we are.... P.S. I make no political commentary here; I merely abhor censorship.

With respect, you can't be serious. The worst ? Lionel would have a tough time outdoing the ocean of  past "worsts" on C2C, some which are so bad and forgettable they defy description. One example would be the guy Ian had on one saturday night, who rambled on about his topic as Ian must have thought: "who scheduled this guy?". When this slow-moving train reached the time for callers to ask this guy questions, the guest replied he would not take them as that meant he did not explain himself adequately. Ian politely pulled the plug wisely at this point. Now that's a bad guest IMHO.

Random Topics / Re: Celebrity Deaths
July 24, 2011, 10:09:28 AM
We now see the unfortunate death of Amy Winehouse, not my particular cup of tea, but nevertheless quite predictable with her lifestyle. It seems that when you reach a certain level of stardom/celebrity, you become insulated from anybody who-like the old dutch uncle of lore-will tell you to get your act together; i.e. somebody to keep you tethered to reality. Instead, the celebrity is surrounded by leeches of the most despicable type who are there to glean whatever they can for their own self-serving purposes. Apparently, Amy has joined the famous "27" club talked about on C2C in several shows.

Well, I don't respond to defend GN, but I have listened to many, many radio hosts over the past 40+ years, and, believe me, they all have idiosyncrasies which can be maddening to the listener. GN is no exception. We all look back to Art Bell's days at C2C with fondness and some of us have become jaded in looking at his replacement. I liked Hilly Rose when he subbed, as Hilly had some fascinating Paranormal encounters himself; I refer to the classic "disappearing man" story which had a reiteration years later with Hilly's daughter. Lastly, in reference to George, don't forget the old saying of trading the devil you know for the one yet to be seen (!)

I forget the guy's name, but he was on with Art frequently in the months before the Y2K bug was to shut us all down. Even in those halcyon days with Art, C2C never followed up with this guy after Jan 1, 2000. To expand, this character predicted all forms of the bug's coming including oil rigs offshore shutting down, etc; you get the idea. Crickets blare as we wait, then, and today for the followup  interview. Nothing has changed these many years. How many times have you screamed to the radio: George, ask the Question !

For me, when Matthew Alper(God part of the brain) comes on, it's bedddy-bye time for me. OK, you said it once, what more can be said ?

That's the difference between Art and George N. Art never backed away from the abyss. Everybody remembers the famous buildup for the Ouija night a few years back when the big letdown happened; I suspect the "suits" were terrified of any legal problems far more than an ocean liner full of Ouija boards. O well.

There was a Fan-tastic show Larry had on one night which featured a panel of guests including Richard Hall, Bruce MaCabee, and Don Berliner. I have a bit of it on an old cassette tape recorded off an out-of-town radio station; you DXers know what I mean: scratchy, and hard to be more than 5 feet away from the radio without ripping your hair out. IF anybody knows where I could find a copy of this show(or online) I would be most grateful as this was one of the best I've ever heard; riveting was too light to describe its content ! BTW, Larry used to sell his episodes via cassette but dopey me did not buy one at the time :-[...Thanks all.

Radio and Podcasts / Re: Art Bell Quits Coast

Too bad about Art, but seriously, his last GTG show was not up to the past performances as others have said. Maybe it was because of the screeners, who knows. Here's a thought: What about an occasional show with Lionel Fanthorpe as host ? or....whatever happened to Hilly Rose ? Remember his story about seeing a man disappear before his eyes, then years later his daughter had the same experience ?

I never could understand why some journalist did not pursue the homeowners of the Utah ranch. This would vault anyone to the peak of a career in ferrreting out just what happened there. Colm Kelleher has appeared on C2C numerous times, but seemed when he talked to George that the ranch was old business-case closed. When the investigation was ongoing, I was especially facinated how the cameras were disabled to negate any observation of the "activities". :(

I never got the lowdown on why art did leave C2C. What happened? I always expected him to do the year-end predictions as well. Art seemed to close out things in Parumph only to return temporarily, and finally return to the Philipines. Back to "Ghost to Ghost", last time around-it seemed to me-that the stories were not screened as well and kind of laborious to hear.
