Is that a veiled threat that me or any other moderate should leave?  People here have been more than welcoming to me, and I see a number of people agreeing or seeing things just as I do.  Alex Jones is a crazy nut, and Wells promoted him very hard.  The extremism is on that end, not my moderate liberal stance.  I am libertarian on many viewpoints.  I am religious.  I am for family values.  I just don't like how Jones tries to incite violence based upon radical un-trueths.  Most of what Wells purported is not supportable with any legitimate evidence.  Sure, I don't trust the government either, but he went about it all wrong, and his take on it, a take from the radical extreme right, took away from what might have been some reasonable concerns.  Fukushima, Drones, NSA, they are all very important issues, but he ruined them.  He was beligerant and hateful, I exchanged a few messages with him and trust me, he acted like an over sensitive baby, and a bit of a jerk.  He is that type of person who is incapable of listening to anyone else's viewpoints, not good for a talk show host.  He chose some reasonable topics, but butchered them.  He was caustic.

Just because the girls here are right leaning and goo goo eyed over his low pitched voice doesn't mean this forum is unwelcome for a moderate like me.  If MV says otherwise, well, then...  But it seems to me that reasoning from either side of the fence has value in an argument.  There's many aspects to good argument, Aristotle taught, among other things, the concepts of Pathos, Ethos, and Logos.  There are many aspects to a good, credible argument.  Noory and Wells, especially Wells, don't show capabilities critical to the thinking involved to make professional arguments.  It is a skill.  So what if his voice turned on women.  I have a voice like that also, a deep voice is a dime a dozen, what matters is the substance behind the voice, and the heart behind it too.  Wells acted like a paranoid android, and snoory is just a robot totally disengaged.

Take a few weeks without listening to your right wing pundits and follow some real news, PBS, CNN, Al Jazeera, and open the spectrum of your value system.  Wells was out of line, he was turning the show into is personal political agenda pushing drama.  Art never did anything close to that.  I don't mind hearing opposing viewpoints, but I like to hear ethos and logos when I do.  Wells only had pathos.  I don't want to listen to histrionics at 1 AM.  I DO want to hear discussion on the real dangers of the NSA, but not unfounded conspiracies claimed by people totally lacking credibility.

If you are trying to threaten those of us that are slightly to the left to leave here, sorry, I'm not leaving.  The world is what we make it.  Reasoning comes from many directions.

Excellent post, Laserjock ... except for the part about the girls here leaning right and swooning over Wells' voice. I'm a girl who's been here for a few years and I lean way left and think Wells sounds like a frog with a bad cold.   ::)

In my opinion Wells is neither trustworthy nor likeable. I don't really care why he got the boot.  I'm just glad he got it.  :D

I definitely fall on the right, but I think Wells is a burned out moron, and his voice does nothing for me. I'm glad to see him go.

My opinion has nothing to do with politics. Wells' material was the most paranoia fueled of all the hosts, and the most potentially destructive. That's why I'm happy to see him go.

"I mean, say what you like about the tenets of National Socialism,  Dude, at least it's an ethos"!

Ethos, Pathos and Morgus, the three musketeers!

I never said I lean left or right, I just intimated that John B. could make me lean back, with his incredible voice.

So could Orson Welles!

I lost interest in Wells a while ago, but I did want to say on three occasions I heard him with sincere and caring responses to callers that were obviously having trouble-living in cars, recovering from alcoholism, and dealing with abuse. No good deed goes unnoticed.

What city are you in? You might be able to find the information from a local university library. Especially a university with a decent media research or journalism program.
That is a great idea, thank you. I figured if the info was easily attainable, or free, someone would have posted it already.

He's probably a good and caring person. I just don't want to listen to his style of radio!

I have been researching this topic on the C2C Facebook page.  The masses are not happy with this decision, firing Wells.

THIS MASS IS ECSTATIC. Wells is a talentless hack who couldn't ask an intelligent question if it were scripted for him. I do hope he has a non-compete clause so the airwaves are Wells-free for at least a couple of years.

Holy moley! talk about missing the point! I'm saying you are out of your comfort zone. Why are you here? By its very nature what you see on this website should disagree with you if you believe such "toxicity" models. "Toxicity" "caustic" whatever you wish to call it, it's garbage. And now because I say it is garbage, you will say I am toxic which I find ridiculous thank you very much. Grow some thicker skin!

FallenSeraph

Sent an email to John B. expressing my condolences and wishes for future success. Asked if he'd be offering shorter Caravan to Midnight subscription options than one year, for those of us who are commitment-phobic, especially after Sirius. Suggested submitting one show a week to DMN.

Got a convoluted email back from his assistant Dianne. It had a strained tone, as if she had been answering emails all day. Kind of a turn-off. I guess he'll be offering half-yearly and quarterly payment options for subscriptions to CTM, along with the annual subscriptions. Don't all rush over to the website at once!

If any of you kids hit the big time and get an assistant to answer your emails, at least hire one who can write in your voice and sign it as you. People will feel more special.

Wired at 3:45 a.m. Insomnia is a bitch.

Thanks, gals, for giving me justification in my hope that not all women here are fooled by Wells' poor attempt at avuncular Cronkite charm.  I can only speak as what I actually am, a male:  A woman's attempts at sexy voice does nothing for me if it is patently false, patronizing, wrong headed, histrionic, hateful, or any number of other things.  In fact, breathy voices infuriate me, quite frankly.

While my opinions so far spotlight Wells' politics, I would acknowledge, or rather, emphatically agree that his shows were potentially destructive and horribly damaging.  The way he impugned others with hearsay totally lacking ethos or logos, lacking proof and lacking credibility, lacking reason or sincerety, well...  He was the kind of man that yell's like Chicken Little, fully knowing that he will do harm in so doing.  He's a very bad person, very offensive, and, I suspect, has some horrible personal flaws that, if he does get good ratings, will come to light about him that will discredit him.  We do not know, but he might have some severe personal issues, I mistrust him, people like him, that throw darts at others, often are very troubled individuals guilty of worse things themselves.  How many times have we seen such men get revealed in modern history?  Jimmy Swaggart for instance.  I'm waiting for Wells' Swaggart moment...

Ok, so what you call garbage is felt by a number of us here.  That is acid commentaries and efforts to incite anger and hate didn't happen, that assertions by others and by me are "garbage".  Folks, is it good form to call someone's insights garbage?  Wells' spilled out hateful stuff.

How could I miss your point when you didn't make a point.  You left it uninterpretable, and it could have meant any number of things, and sorry, I don't think the nature of MV's site here disagrees with me.  The nature of this site is just one thing:  We are all fascinated with C2C and Dark Matter and its hosts, or rather, at least, we want to discuss them all.  That's all it is, a board for people to share and express.  I don't see a mission statement on the main page that this is a Wells approval site, or a neocon outpost, for that matter.

None of the negative comments in this thread make any sense to me. Shrug.

Ad Hominem attacks.  Real good!  This could devolve into something bad, so I won't get into a tit for tat with you.  But yes, some posts about Noory are caustic, but there's a difference here.  A fan cirticising someone versus someone using the bully pulpit to preach a caustic and false campaign world wide.  When I criticize Noorey, I'm not broadcasting to hundreds of thousands of impressionable listeners.

I am done with you because I don't want to see this thread devolve into something it shouldn't be, but do me a favor and avoid personal attacks, it doesn't make a forum better.

Two points on Wells
Concerning his popularity, whether some admit it or not, he was one of the more prominent figures as a host on Coast. I have been deluged with any many emails and hits for John Wells on my website as I was when Art Bell came back and left again...
Just a different crowd, but as popular nonetheless.

And two: I wish, really do wish, he would have done at least one Ghost to Ghost. Whether we love his politics or not, his voice for a ghost show would have been pretty damn cool..
Maybe the caravan will host a few topics of oddities. He seemed to be into UFOs, unless that was just pretend like Mike Seigel used to pretend to like cats.

He didn't do a Ghost to Ghost because he had no....none....zero.....interest in doing paranormal radio. He took the gig in order to spread his toxic....yes....TOXIC brand of politics and bullshit. He thought he precious, electronically controlled voice would sway people....well, no. I heard his real voice. What a freaking fake! He has a shitty, normal voice. LOL. His mic is electronically outfitted to make that voice sound deep. LOL.

He is no better than Alex Jones and that means pure trash and right wing wacko rich guy making money off survival junk. How disgusting. Again:

Ding Dong, the Wells is gone...gone....gone.

Agreed!  When Wells did an occasional paranormal program, I enjoyed him.  Sadly, 95% of his programs were, as you stated:  "....the most paranoia fueled of all the hosts, and the most potentially destructive."

I wish him the best, and I am glad he has moved on.
