Last name Minei?  :o
I see what you did there. If that's true then wow, just wow.

It freaked me out when I heard his voice on KNYE. I understand Karen wanting to keep that. I am offended at Heather using the liners for MITD that Art did and having him read the phone numbers.
How ghoulish!  I agree; it’s creepy to hear promos for the show by the deceased.

It wasn’t just the freelancers with me. The damn engineers would tell the station photogs that as long as they had the limiter turned on, they didn’t need to worry about audio.

I'm trying to remember now...  I think it was the automatic gain control on the Sony CCD1 (the three CCD, pro-quality digital tape camera) that I spent hours every week fixing the audio from.  It seemed like it was sensing a small frequency range would make everything rough when someone's voice was off-axis with one of the mics.  Omnidirectional mics my ass.  Otherwise, they were great and a workhorse camera for those "straight to VHS" pornos productions.

I was joking about the porno, most of it was religious broadcasting.  Goddamned hypocrites.

It would seem that Heather's unhealthy obsession with Art has now turned to his children.  I really hope Airyn
considers that move to Maui or where ever.   A new, fresh start is not always a bad thing.
Perhaps HLW can relocate.  I hear there’s some newly-available bargain properties on the big island...

If Heather carries on doing the show until Son of Art takes over, will she still be using her one photo when she's 70?
Oh, probably.

Is there such a thing as a preemptive restraining order? Lasha could help with the details of exactly which week it needs to be brought into play.

Contacting Karen.  She'll know what to say to Airyn.

I wasn't being flippant; I think HW is seriously deranged.

It sounds like Heather's doing this show from a cell phone. Art would've hung up on her.

AstroBuzz

I don't see Heather continuing this gig. There's just not enough money in it for her to thrive and be satisfied. She'd be better off using what radio experience she's gained and applying for a DJ position at some local Rock Station in the midwest somewhere.

Lilith

Keith has last nights show up now.  I'll catch a bit before I have to leave, and the rest later.

Tonight's discussion with Dave Schrader's guest is the sort of subject I really groove to.  Yet it seems the discussion in this thread is all about Midnight in the Heather.

It's her one night. Tomorrow she enters obscurity unless she enters the Jerry Springer zone and dramabombs fly through the air like butterflydesertmoths.

My podcatcher played it fine at 6 am

I'm hoping Heater enters the indifference zone, sooner than later.  Otherwise, it would be nice to see her trainwreck shoved off to the side into a Falkie 2 thread.

Yep, she said, "... welcome all of you to Midnight In The Desert" right at the beginning.

The “official” story according the Heater. To answer many people who posted here, yes she considers last night the tribute show and then some other BS about a listener tribute tonight, and claiming unscreened calls. So for Heater and Lasha who read here do you mean everyone or just the pre-screened callers? So you'll take callers from bellgab too? I mean that would be truly unscreened, right? I didn't listen but trust bellgabbers when they say it was truly awful.

I used to attribute her odd verbal phrasing to her "medical" marijuana use.  However, recent events have me wondering if it's a sign of incipient psychosis.  ???

Bluejay

I don’t think *OPEN* is the right adjective to describe her show’s call-in lines; *Heavily-screened* might be more accurate.

The entire night was devoted to blathering personal stories (which seemed invented), long winded, irrelevant thoughts, fake crying outbursts and pitching books. If that wasn't unlistenable enough, the audio quality was on par with using an old vacuum tube FM radio and a Mr Mircrophone from 1975. I wanted to end my life by the close of the show.

I think there's a whole lot of people who think the same way.  I took some action by sending a message, I don't want to ever feel guilty about not speaking up, the "see something, say something" mentality.  Karen seems like the real deal, the ball is in her court now.

Dear Heather trolls, if you disagree with this, you are (in effect) disagreeing in steps to make sure Airyn, Asia and Alexander's stay safe. No matter how you spin it, this is just the bucket of water by the campfire...  If there's something that's actually wrong, it can be dealt with head-on immediately instead of delaying a response.

Well from what all of you were saying from her interview on the same network the audio quality was less than desirable. It's funny there are so many talented people she could have recruited from here had she not burned her bridges. Several people do streaming, a bunch of us do websites with or without code. Just think had she not turned her back on bellgab she might actually have gotten somewhere. Look at the support Good Dave is getting and he already has a pretty big base. We are just icing on the cake IMO. But here he is daily mixing it up with us and in general engaging the board.
