That was a VERY strange Skype problem, it was NOT on my end. I heard no break up on his side as in a poor connection, when he was there he was good but it just cut off like a switch, I am guessing he had a bad Ethernet cord or Router problem. His back up was a cell phone so I just filled as best as I could. Yes we disagreed on a number of issues but that's ok, in fact that makes for good Radio but a bad whatever it was does not. I blame Blanch.

I did something today I never do, I listened to last night's show. What we heard was indeed the REAL thing. She was right in line with what Satan is, a trickster. Check out the part where she said yes, I can cast a spell and then the person goes to Hawaii and something wonderful happens to him. Presented like Satan's Council. Creepy

I remember back when so many people asked Art "How ya doin'?" that he finally just resorted to saying: "I'm doin'..." People.... PLEASE cut out that sort of needless and vapid opening question.

A flight 800 show should be interesting. I remember a lot of talk about a missile back in those days. The NTSB never did nail down a solid cause for that one. They only ever said it was probably a fuel tank explosion.

This is a problem with radio and American society in general. Do most people really care when they ask "how are you doing?" No, it is just an empty greeting and on radio just a way for a nervous caller to break the ice. My local AM guy has gotten his audience to stop saying it by replying "do you really want to know?"

I can't wait for tonight's show. I don't mind some politics since politics, for good or bad, effects most things these days.

I've always thought TWA 800 was the victim of one of Ramsey Yousef's bombs.  He blew a hole in a Philippine Airlines plane less than two years before.  He was aboard the plane early in the flight, built the bomb in the restroom, then hid it in a seat.  He set the bomb to go off in a few hours, then left the plane in Manilla.  In 1995, he tried to get bombs aboard both Delta and a United flights, but failed. Even though Yousef was in jail by the time of TWA 800, his uncle, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, was running around the middle east.  The plane was in Athens before it landed at JFK. Could someone have put a bomb aboard there?

That said, I worked for a TV station at the time.  We interviewed a Boeing engineer who said there was, early on, a wiring problem with the center fuel tank fuel pump on those planes.  He said that all US planes had been fixed, but that this plane had been in Iran at the time and may have missed the wiring upgrade.  He said that the flight engineer may have tried to use fuel in the center fuel tank, caused a spark, and then the explosion.

Both of these seem more likely than the US Navy secretly shooting it down with a missle, but we'll see what the gues says.

It will be interesting.  A friend of mine was a flight attendant for TWA when this happened.  He told me in a matter of fact tone that it was a missile that hit the plane.  He didn't elaborate, but since he worked for TWA, his comment gave me pause.
