She has been a bit of a bitch ever since she cut her hair.  Good riddance.

QuoteAfter the show, I called Mark Shimmel â€" who begged her to do the show and had her cut her vacation short from Aspen. This is a verbatim conversation. I asked, “What happened?” He said, “I just talked to my guys and I confirmed her in-ears didn’t work. Couldn’t she just wing it?” I’m like, “What are you talking about ‘winging it’? Are you on glue?” He’s like, “What do you want me to do?” I said, “I want you to cut the West Coast feed.” He calls me back and says, “We can’t do it.” So I’m like, “You would prefer to air a show with technical glitches so you can have a viral moment rather than protect the integrity of your show and Dick Clark Productions?” He said, “We just won’t do it. Do you want to do a joint statement?” And I said, “No, I want you to go fâ€" yourself.” And that was it.

I've missed my calling.

Yeah, you'd turn her down if she took leave of her senses and looked in your direction!  ;D ;D

No, I would bang that Ol' bimbo senseless.  I would be wearing nothing but my "Make America Great Again" Hat, my pearly white socks pulled up to my knees and I would be bending her over and I would be standing on Donald Trump's book "Art of the Deal" to get better leverage.  Every thrust she would be yelling "Build the Wall".

Brings back memories of the "letters" section in certain adult magazines.

Ah, good ol' Penthouse Forum! It all started out as a perfectly normal night but then... ;)

My favorite magazine.  It had a touch of class that Hustler never had.  Good old Bob Guccione.

I was never sure if it was a "1st Amendment thing" (printed word being more protected at the time than pictures/movies) or just some would rather read and imagine than see but what about those old pulp books one would see in train stations and airport stores? Often with very lurid covers. I haven't seen them in a long time but recall seeing some guy reading one on a flight and seeing them on kiosks. Some crazy titles also- way more alternative content than more mainstream "mags"- at least the ones easily available at a convenience store etc. S&M, fetish, rape, etc. I just remember seeing some unassuming businessman across the aisle reading one on a long flight as a kid and was like WTF? Showed some sketch of a teenage gal being whipped by an older guy and something like "family discipline" as a title.

I pretty much stuck to Penthouse.  The girls were gorgeous and I liked the fantasy pictorials.  The problem with the fetish mags is many times the girls just weren't very pretty. Occasionally I'd get a Hustler but half the time, it would have something gross in it like pictures of a suicide or pics of Larry Flynt's many surgeries.  I don't want to see that crap when I open up that sort of magazine.  Kind of kills the mood if you catch my drift.

Fox needs to get Tomi Lahren

I can see that happening one day, but I'm sure she enjoys her position now.

I get you. That was "literary content" or "news content" to allow Hustler to be more graphic, in some twisted logic, I think. No, these were books, actual book. Not magazines. But printed cheaply, like mass paperbacks with crap paper. Weird, though. I think maybe it was a censorship issue? Printed word versus actual pictures? They went away once everything was mainstreamed and Court said porn ok, maybe? Or people, just became less literate? Haha. Though I think "Penthouse Letters" is/was still sold?

Yeah, it is still sold but haven't bought one in years.  You can get away with anything using the printed word.  You buy any romance novel these days and most of them are as graphic as any hardcore pictorial.  Just take a look next time you are in the bookstore.

Ha. I will (a neighbor down the block here at this house is, I heard, a writer of 'romance' novels. Verified but writes under a nom de plume. A suburban housewife in a random neighborhood makes money for years over "Highland" romance novel "bodice-rippers.") I made the theory that maybe the HUSBAND was the writer over a drunken 4th of July party, because I rarely have seen her. But others in the neighborhood says that they have and I've seen her driving a few times.

ps: MeTv showing Twilight Zone based on Castro, basically. (Peter Falk as "Castro".) One of his minions looks really like George Norry!!

Yeah,  I remember that episode.  Romance novels aren't what they used to be.  Now everything is described in full detail with very little left for the imagination.  It used to be that love encompassed more than just sex.  Sign of the times, I guess.  Kind of sad in a way.

I, seriously, went to the C2C page to see what non-sense and comedy would be on, and looked back and...NORRY on the tv with Peter Falk for a brief moment! I have no idea about romance novels but found it funny that someone on this block was a best-seller and then the genre.

I like him more now that he's mellowed some. It's good to see Dennis Miller still working too.  ;)
