TRUTH.  If anything he softballs questions.  He's a shill.  All of the other hosts have challenged their guests at one point.  Not Noory.  He needs to quit and go do infomercials.

I hope this is not true.  I have a hard time believing Art Bell would post his terminal illness on Facebook.  I found no other news sources regarding this.  Like I said...I hope this is not true.  :(

What is GaholeN's disease?  I saw that "word" in another thread.  Enlighten me.  :)

I didn't see this thread sooner.  My anger has waned regarding this "guest."  I like John B. Wells overall but he did nothing to handle this "guest."  When Stan Johnson started spouting off about anybody who is not Christian needs to look at a map and find a country that will take them in.......I was pissed to say the least.  Sent JBW an email regarding it.  I never do that, but this guy was so ridiculous and JBW let him spout on and on.  >:(

As much fun as the old-lady-beats-up-jerk-at-car-wreck call is (the very first hearing of that is one of life's great belly laughs), I just can't conceive that it is genuine. The caller is a fantastic actor to be able to pull off a "genuine" call in what had to be almost pure extempore. But it's simply too good.

However, the determinists and debunkers tell me that any such "I just can't imagine that such and such is true" argument is a fatal logical fallacy, in this case based upon lack of imagination, and thus is to be mocked and derided. Of course such a position presumes all human experiences are the same, are equivalent, and that all humans are the same; and that human beings are essentially machines with no ability to learn, distinguish or judge.

So I come down on the side of - Great actor pulling a gag too good to be true.

No disrespect intended, but did you intend for this post to be in this particular thread?  Doesn't seem to fit.

I like JBW.  He's pissed me off but I see a glimmer of hope.  Rather have C2C with John B. Wells than what we have now.  Then again, I guess it's marginal.  Clearly Art Bell is the man.  Afterwards you have a bunch of hosts with their own schtick.  Keep in mind that they ALL have their own 'act.'  Noory is the worst of all of them.

Let's all pool our money and purchase a Tribble for George. Tribbles are furry, cuddly, adorable, and they purr and provide so much love. Tribbles are born pregnant, so in no time at all, VOILA! That one little orange Tribble in the C2C studio will morph into hundreds, then thousands, then tens of thousands, filling the studio. They will act as a viable sound buffer, effectively blocking out George's voice, interviews, open lines, etc.

Tribbles hate  Klingons...and since Georgie is of Lebanese blood, well, that's close enough for moi.

LMAO!!!!  I seriously almost drowned sipping my coffee while reading that.  Soooo good.  ;D

Listening today at 16:58 GMT, to a program with Peter Davenport from October 27, 1999, Art had this to say about Mr. Zahi Hawass:

"Don't get me wrong: Zahi Hawass is a friend of mine. But I don't trust Zahi. And Zahi knows I don't trust him."

Matter of fact; low key, to the point. Art wasn't angry, didn't sound like he was issuing payback. He was just saying "look, this is the deal with Zahi."

What a difference from the mutual lingual lavage and cream puff exchange which C2C guests have been able to count on for almost a decade.

In the words of the great George Noory...."So true...So true."

I hate that stupid recording so much you have no goddamned idea. I hear it yet again, the radio is instantly shut off.

I cannot even understand what the guy says. It is just a bunch of unbearable cackling on a crappy phone line.

I am right there with ya!  The recording to me sounds staged anyway and dipshit Noory probably thinks it's real.
Supposedly a car full of old ladies gets out at an intersection and beats up a rude driver of another vehicle. He may have bumped them or something.  The guy talking about what he is seeing is forcefully laughing and describing the old ladies as looking like Mother Goose...wearing bonnets, etc.  Who the fuck wears a bonnet?

Oh yeah! This just occurred to me.  A few nights ago George was talking about a common friend he had with Prince Albert of Monaco and how he met the Prince and became friends.  I was like....really????  Noory is always fishing for complements, or making statements about who he knows, or mentioning his 9 years in the Navy (Thank you for your service *yawn*)
He likens himself to some kind of Sage that can give you wisdom. And of course he fancies himself a singer...tries to be humble about it, but can't stop fishing for those compliments...UGH!  Last Friday a woman called in and wants to sing a duet with him. I threw up in my mouth a little.

Poutine looks scrumptious. I can't get "cheese curds" in my area of the US though, and I'm not quite sure what that is, either. I'd also like to find the right brown gravy for authenticity. "Brown gravy" can mean a lot of things here in Louisiana.

If you make pot roast with the carrots and stuff in the croak pot (or whatever you use)...or if a restaurant does that stuff....that's what you need.  If at home, thicken them juices with a roux.  :D  You'll be good to go.

I like Giorgio.  :-[

Although I know he's all about his body building and fame...lavish lifestyle, etc.  :P

He pretends to not know his hair is ridiculous.

Whatever.   I dig Ancient Aliens and Giorgio.  Eventually, time will run out and I won't dig it anymore.  ;)

I can't always listen live and I am a Coast Insider.  ;)  Since I pay for the podcasts I TRY to listen to all of them.  The majority have been deleted.  No need to keep that shit in my archive.   That being said....nearly anything regarding the afterlife, the numbers lady, religion (people like Stan Johnson), and angels....shit like that....YES...I will just turn off or delete immediately.

He sounds sober to me, but he often tells the listeners to get a spot of tea, so maybe he favors tea. (as opposed to Knapp who says to put on a pot of joe).   A recent picture of Wells in Hawaii showed him smoking, and I believe he's lit up a cigarette while on the air.

I didn't say he wasn't sober.....just (maybe) drinking.   ;)  The thing is with these guys is they can broadcast from home.  If I could do that, I'd be drinking.  LOL  ;D

This dish may be a Canadian thing...  it's called 'Poutine'.  It's French fries with hot gravy and cheese chunks on it... the hot gravy and fries melt the cheese.  Lots of calories, but you have the essential food groups, lol.
BTW, when junior Bush was campaigning in 2000 for the presidency, he was criticized for not knowing international issues.  A Canadian comedy show confronted Bush, pretending they were legitimate reporters from Canada, and said Prime Minister Poutine sends his regards.  Bush thanked them, not knowing he was fooled and there was no such person.  That clip received lots of air time up here.

That story regarding Bush is hilarious.  And yes, I have heard of Poutine and I find it awesome!  Back when I lived in Pittsburgh, PA there was a place that served the best french fries topped with brown gravy.  Actually there were a bunch, but this one was special.  Something so simple yet sooo good.

I've developed a taste for Spam sandwiches lately.  Say what you will about it, that it's fattening, antiquated, whatever.  Spam sandwiches with mayo is good shit.

Nothin' wrong with that.  Do you heat the Spam or eat it cold or both?

Oh yeah....Scrapple.  I love it.  I'm assuming it may be a regional thing.  Reminds me of Spam but less 'hammy.'

Hey Grimace.  I'm getting the impression that you like Nutella.  I dunno....just a feeling I have.  I can honestly say that I have tried Nutella maybe twice in my life.  I see it on the shelves and I remember they dropped Kobe Bryant as a spokesman due to his alleged rape case.  I digress.  I am a fan of Marmite though.  I use it as an ingredient in cooking more than a spread, but I do enjoy it on bagles and english muffins.

Hello all.  I'm sure some of you remember a few months back when George was ramping up the effort to buy stuff from the Coast to Coast site.  He stated they would be getting some new items and getting rid of the old inventory.  I took a look today and they added more new stuff.  It's all way too expensive.  I wonder what % he gets from sales?  Anyway....for $16.95 you could get this.

The other side is the C2C logo with a Noory signature.  Why the fuck would he think a picture of himself with THIS IS MY MUG under it is appealing!??

ShayP, your telling of this incident is masterful. I believe every word you said. Your grandmother obviously understood as she has probably experienced this same vision. Since this happened so long ago (32 years) have you further experiences involving your (presumed) now deceased grandmother?

Thank you Zircon for the compliment on my story telling.  I enjoy trying to have someone visualize the scene and, sort of, experience what I saw, etc.  Almost as if the reader is narrating it themselves.  Anyway.....

As I mentioned, my Grandmother was superstitious and religious.  I think she used her faith to shield any fear or doubts and as a method of reassurance.  She did have experiences.  As far as her seeing her deceased sister, I don't recall her ever seeing the 'ghost.'  However, My Mother did sometime after my experience.  She too thought it was my Grandmother playing a trick, but that was not the case.  My Grandmother was down stairs on the other side of the house at the time.

One of my Grandmother's recurring experiences was a shadow image of a man wearing a hat standing at the foot of her bed.  Whenever this happened she would be very upset.  I rarely saw my Grandmother upset...other than when she was pissed at me...but she would be very shaken emotionally everytime she was awoken to this figure, and didn't like rehashing the incident.

I never had an experience 'seeing' my Grandmother after she passed away.  She was in my dreams at times though.  I can't deduce or interpret any kind of message from her in those dreams.  I got the feeling she was trying to get my attention or make me realize something.  I dunno.  It was weird.  I do not recall her being in my recent dreams.  By recent, I would say quite a few years now.

There have been quite a few instances where I hear a clanking sound or glass hitting against something.  On one program I heard JBW apologize to the guest because he 'knocked over his cantina of water while reaching for it.'  I could give a shit if he's drinking.  I'd find it funny if he really is.  Like Zircon said, it's probably a job requirement.

I think the "news" segment is a pretty good barometer of the Snooron's psyche.   Last night's edition was an episode in the usual weirdness, starting out with George's concern for little kids pulling heavy objects or furniture over onto themselves -- he mentioned that it was his "phobia" when his own kids were little.   Add to that the usual gore and misfortune -- some poor guy in Texas suffered 300 stings from "killer bees," and Mitch Battros gave an extended report that was utterly incomprehensible.    Something about how the Earth's core in addition to the Sun have this effect on weather.  We're glad that he's "monitoring the situation," that's for sure...

I was going to post the same thing!  I like how he put the plea to furniture makers around the world to come up with ways where the furniture would not topple.  Uhhhh.....furniture has been made in the same model for a very long time.  Hundreds of years.  The only difference is the materials that make it.  I guess all dressers and wardrobes should be made in pyramid form so they don't topple.  Jeez!  I'm glad George's kids survived the dreaded "furniture toppling phase" of childhood learning.  Fuck you George Noory.  I wish you would've climbed a 30 foot armoire and your sibling kicked it while you were on top.  Jagoff.

I understand the criticism of George. I get that. He's not brought a lot of energy to the show. And he needs to put effort into his interviewing. A journalist -- if we're to put him in that box -- constantly needs to work at this. There is craft involved. You can always run a better interview.

But I do think the guy is well-meaning, and that he does have some intellectual curiosity. I thought this piece sized him up pretty well.

I now feel sad for George.
