Physically painful to attempt to listen to. He's lost control of the interview with "Elisibet" even having to ask a rambling nutcase caller, "What's your question?"  As usual, Snoory is asleep at the wheel. God, I miss Art.... :'(

"Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit upon his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats." - 1919 H. L. Mencken]

If I remember right he said this after his son was abused by his teacher but before it was made public.  I don't remember what show it was.

I was an active member of the Fantastic Forum and I believe Art posted that comment on the FF. He posted there quite often and stayed in touch with us even when he'd "quit" radio now and then....

I've seen both Julian and Sean perform. Julian was very young and very good -- the Vallotte period. Sean was actually extremely good, as a vocalist and guitarist. I was surprised. Don't sell him short.

Are cover songs ok?

Hey Jude

That's great. It's actually an old German folk tune and the flutes bring that out.

The Beatles reunited. That's all.

LOVED it. How anyone in their right mind could find fault with Paul, George, and Ringo backing a song of John's with Jeff Lynne at the helm boggles the mind. The video is incredible.

I was emailing his assistant who then would print my emails out to him. I was one of the first American owners of the Tascam DA-88 digital recorder.  As is often the case whenever I touch something, I found a few problems right off the bat and communicated with the company and quite a few artists about it. I also was in contact with Thomas Dolby and I think he was on CompuServe at the time. Boy, I wish I printed those emails...

In one of the emails to George Martin's office, I told him that he was such a big influence, not only for myself, but for almost everyone I was in the studio with. We would all think out loud what could we do like George Martin...  It was nice, I never asked for the autograph, but I wet my pants when I got it.

I have a Tascam, too, but it's tape. I'm a purist.

If Heather quits MITD she could start a Bigfoot Fashions business.

I'm not too bad really. I have meds but hardly ever feel the need to use them. I suppose I'm lucky but that might change one day too. I count my blessings.

Good deal!

In Tobacco country lots of the hospitals were supported and lots of the jobs (AG and corporate) were from Big Tobacco. I knew someone who was doing his residency and got 'in trouble' for insisting no smoking for his patients and criticized staff for smoking.

I live in N.C.  Smoking was allowed in all government buildings up until around 2003.  My family -- most right-wing, staunch Christians -- has owned tobacco farms here for over 200 years and now sell directly to big pharma for use in meds. Some worked for R.J. Reynolds. The irony is nuts.

I'm laughing so hard I'm about to have an asthma attack!

Lived through it too. I assume I'll probably die of a similar lung disease some day. The one advantage the doctors told me I had going for me is that I apparently have abnormally large lungs for my stature. ;)

I found a great pulmonary specialist who's helped with new meds. Hope you can, too.

haha, jeez.  people used to be really dumb in some ways.

One of the doctors was smoking in bed, burned down his house, and died in the fire. The ultimate in dumb.

Back in the 70s and 80s people were smoking in hospitals. ;D

I have severe hay fever and asthma and both my childhood doctors smoked in the exam room. Unreal.

Ramona was of Philippine descent.  She was born and raised, in Havvai'i, on Oahu, otherwise know as, Cockroach Island.  Asthma is prevalent there, and loz people smoke, yeah?

Art's chain smoking probably killed Ramona, to be honest. You can't smoke around an asthma sufferer.

I'm going through this fresh hell right now with my mother who has dementia. It will eat you alive.

But was Art in awe of Malachi because the things he spoke to Art about resonated within his soul :D or was it simply pantomime for the listeners?

I tend to think Art was religious. I'm not exactly sure what sort of parameters to put on that word only to say that I think Art held some beliefs such as the existence of heaven, hell, Devil and a God.

When Art was asked which time period he would travel back to, he said he would go back the time and location of Jesus. That tells us a lot.

That's REALLY Art, and I shop at that grocery store, based in Art's birth state of North Carolina.

Leo shouldn't even read books to kindergarteners, much less be on the "air."  And I hope he isn't on bellgab, but if so, sorry.

Art became a good friend to a lot of people who never met him.

There was something about his voice and the way he viewed things that drew people in. No one has been able to match that.

I understand the guy's pain.

Yep.... 😞
