I noticed that Schweberg, The Flying Dutchman will be going up against Bob Graham in a six round boxing match.  Mr. S. must have been quite a character.  If I remember right, he dresses and moves just like Charley Chaplin.  He wrestled somebody at the Airdome sporting event of a month or so, ago.  He lasted all of 90 seconds.

Study in knees at Cypress Gardens.  Saw one online for sale postmarked 1948.  Wanted $16.00 for it.

Notice the linen like texture on the front of the card?  Well guess what, this is actually called a linen postcard.  It really doesn't have anything to do with linen (except for the texture)...it's just a printing style that the postcard industry came up with that is way cheaper than regular photo printing and yet you still get a good picture with nice color.  (The back of linen cards are always smooth.)  Linen postcards were made from 1931 to 1959.  You can easily spot a linen postcard by the telltale up and down and side to side lines plus you can actually feel the printed lines too.

I wondered about that too.  Can you imagine that mind-set existing during the Florida shooting?  Hundreds of drinks hurled at the shooter and one cool customer with a Bic lighter?  Doubt it would ever happen while I'm grocery shopping, but if it does, I know exactly where those heavy cans of chicken chow mien are.

Scotty Moore, Elvis' first backing guitar player died today.  He was 84 years old.
