I must have dozed off in History class when Bell was mentioned.  Sure, I knew he invented the telephone but I had no idea that Canada played such an important part in its development.

That film was one of many lost in the Fox Vault fire in 1937. It is interesting to note that in a few short decades we went from things, even major films, being "lost" to virtually every aspect of one's life fully documented and archived forever. And major studio movies get leaked before they even hit the theaters. (And Hollywood is making so many bad movies that it is unfortunate that films cannot be "lost" anymore!)

Your post made me look up the vault fire.  What a loss.  I guess we can say that the 'When A Man Sees Red' movie saw 'red' itself, in the end.

One hundred and seventy soldiers from the British Empire's Egyptian Expeditionary Force (EEF) charged a company of Ottoman Turkish troops on November 8, 1917.  By and large, the charge was considered a success.  The British/Egyptian troops took...
Quoteseventy prisoners, eleven pieces of artillery and four machine guns.

Everything didn't come up roses though because the advancing army had twenty six of their number killed, and forty wounded. 100 horses were also killed.
