Grim outlook dude.  You might also consider moving to a first world state within CONUS.  The list of states to which the state of Cal. has banned official travel would be a good place to start looking for one.
Ha!  Ah, yes. Kalifornia. Land of fruits and nuts.  Who needs power?  It's evil, anyway.

On the postive side we've had power for 75% of the month of October. I wonder if paying 75% of my electric bill would be acceptable?

I think it would be an interesting exercise for people to weigh-in about which states they think are the most free and why. I’ve already heard that aldous wants to move back to Arizona when he can. Why, aldous?

Well when I refer to AZ, I mean rural AZ (not the Phoenix area). Small towns with people who are actually from there. Tucson nearly qualifies as one of these btw. I grew up in a place populated with gringos, Mexicans, and Native Americans whose individual cultural backgrounds were never a negative. We were multicultural before the word existed. People in these areas tend to be friendly and aware of who their neighbors are. Arizonans for the most part respect each other's right to own firearms and open carry or conceal them which on its own engenders a mutually respectful and polite atmosphere. A love of getting out on the land with the hunting/fishing/camping/hiking is lived out in a non REI/Northface corporate way. Unless you're in the northern part of the state, sunny and hot is the norm which is exactly the way I like it. Real estate dollars buy approximately 3 times the value of what it you can expect in Californistan and though average incomes are lower than the Golden State, so is the cost of living. Phoenix is completely another story, populated with interlopers from other areas, and virtually unlivable with its traffic, urban heat sink effect, and high percentage of assholes.

I'm voting AldousBurbank for President in 2020.

We will build a big beautiful wall! And California will pay for it!

Rep Katie Hill (D-Cal) admits to cheating on her husband with a female campaign worker who was the third party in the couple's menage a trois.  Who does that?  Everyone knows that separate trysts are a massive betrayal unless the husband gets to view it via Skype.  And then she allegedly turns around and boffs her legislative director and who knows how many other campaign staff claiming one or more of the 17 recognized sexual identities.  Before any sanctions are levied someone needs to throw a bucket of cold water on the woman.

Almost, but only almost, beats the dramas and intrigues with regard to the apparent Islamic militant Ilhan Omar- Rep from Minnesota- (a State targeted by administrations with immigration.)

Why can't we, or they, figure out how to spell the Muslim names? I was hoping we were over this issue once Kaddafi, Quadafi, etc died. But here we go again.

Abdullah Qardash sometimes spelled Karshesh is also known as Hajji Abdullah al-Afari

Democrat Rep Katie Hill resigns after the allegations of sexual relations with a subordinate staffers, apparently plural and of both sexes, which she claims was "consensual."

She blames "abusive husband and the brutality of hateful political operatives" for her resignation. She does not mention a resignation date which is also curious.

On the same day another Democrat who also used political office for personal household tasks and/or sexual antics, allegedly, and whose wife went to prison for accepting bribes, passed away.

"Conyers, among the high-profile politicians topped by sex harassment allegations in 2017, died at his home on Sunday, said Detroit police spokesman Cpl. Dan Donakowski. The death “looks like natural causes,” Donakowski added."

From the obvious is obvious department:

Northern California city braces for another multi-day blackout, Nevada City mayor calls on Governor Newsom to declare a state of emergency, microgrids

This place is a disaster zone- entering the third day of the third power outage in less than three weeks. There's a rumor of restoration today but even if that happens they're shutting her down again tomorrow for at least a few days. Stores and gas stations limited to those with generator backup. Traffic lights down, schools closed, business and employees sidelined, rural wells/irrigation down, several radio stations down, etc etc. The article above describes some of the local financial impact but the fullness of that is difficult to encapsulate and still impossible to estimate. Just the cost of perished food at stores and homes has had a huge baseline impact. Also hinted at but not yet reported freakonomic collateral damage issue is the fuckery the situation has brought to the local weed industry. Huge crop impact, particularly for indoor ops but also outdoor large scale lacking irrigation and power for proper drying/processing exactly at harvest time. You heard it here first.

Interesting discussion. While I agree with them that sexual liberation is being used as a political tool and there’s certainly an attempt by some to not just to get people to accept homosexuality but to embrace and celebrate it as well, I stop short of wanting to recriminalize that behavior as these two seem to want to. I can accept that most homosexuals are probably born that way. It’s always seemed to me like some sort of genetically built-in population control. It’s the politicians using sexual orientation as a wedge issue we should be upset with, not homosexuals.
