Nice, thanks for posting. I love OTR every so often you can still find a few places making new radio plays (BBC, or independent places) but for the most part the genre is dead on radio. Archive.org, torrents, and anyone who has Sirius/XM channel 148 can find good stuff.

It's nice to see my work come back around on the internet. Way back a few years ago, a young lady from Texas and I set out to collect the "very best" available CBSRMT to date. Through the magic of two different Yahoo! groups and some help from USENET, we did it.

We did this without any compensation and no desires except for the love of the OTR (um...really NTR). This website appears to feature much of our work.

OTR folk are like that, mostly, and excepting a few who are quite niggardly, we are a giving lot.

I think that's why scammers such as fidget-scammer and senda-grifter elicit so much ill will. Who the fuck are these ass holes walking around trying to profit from goodwill?

I'm sure Jackstar (restricted or not) can explain it more clearly. 

Still, it's cool seeing my Grandbaby hit the big time! lol

Something about the wax and wane of AM radio adds mystery to a mystery show.  During the golden age of Art Bell I would listen to his show on an old beat-up am radio deep inside a hydro power plant (all alone and all night).  Art's voice would reverberate throughout the rows of darkened, whirring turbines and get entangled and lost within the coils of wafting magnetic flux.

I found this station a couple of years ago, and it has the best variety of shows of any OTR station I know about. A lot of the episodes include the commercials, which are interesting little time capsules on their own, and whenever possible the owner plays shows that originally aired on the same date.

I really appreciate him preserving the episodes by not editing out the cigarette ads. I like the ones Jack Webb did for Fatima cigarettes, in which he talks about how he never goes out without an extra pack in his pocket so he can turn his friends on to the great taste. Sure you did, Jack.

It looks like he smoked whatever brand Liggett and Myers was paying him to endorse at the moment. i like how he boasts about smoking two packs of Chesterfields a day! I knew he was smoking that extra pack of Fatimas himself and not passing them out to his friends.

Very cool.  Now I want to post-process some old shows to have ambient turbine echoes in the background.

I found the CBS Mystery Theater on Relic Radio Science Fiction (via TuneIn) which seems to have collated the Science Fiction episodes of the CBS program hosted by EG Marshall. There are episodes here I haven't seen elsewhere. The CBS shows were well-produced, and even though from the 70s, sound as if they were done decades earlier. Thank you all for the links.

Growing up, I HATED the test pattern. Nowadays, when my baby is having babies...at least I know fruit of my loins will not have to ever, ever suffer the test pattern.

Nah. They may have been using subliminal programming, but binaural beats requires stereo and the use if headphones. Subliminal programing can be interspersed into the video feed without being percieved and the audio can be below the level of normal perception.

Yes, subliminal programming is interesting. I wonder if there was any neuroscience behind the particular auditory tones used in test patterns, and also for the Emergency Broadcast System, which just woke up my cat. 🙀
