Art Bell Bumper Music

"Dancing Queen" and "Don't Leave Me This Way" also make me think of Phil Hendrie's awesome send-ups of C2C, in particular an episode where General Johnson Jameson demanded Art stop playing "that damned disco music"

Thanks for these, Phil's older clips have a habit of "vanishing" on-line, so this is very cool.

I know, I wish I could figure out how to download them before they also disappear.

go to cnet.com and find an app that will extract video files from the YouTube flash players

Oh I'll try it!  Thanks b dubb.

I've been using VideoCacheView to scoop vid and audio out of IE temp and then using Pazera to extract audio from vid or convert vid format.

I just use real player download then convert to Mp3 if it's something I don't have already.

Firefox has an add-on you can use as well. I have it in my addons folder, but never got around to seeing how well it works.

Some clips you may or may not have. I wish they were complete programs, but I'll take whatever I can get. My Phil Hendrie collection is lacking!

MV/Liberace!

anybody ever hear the hendrie bit from the pre-syndication KFI days where a character claims he's going to canoe from coast to coast using a series of streams, rivers, lakes, creeks, and other bodies of water?  LOL!

WHY WHY WHY is Noory playing Art's (I really think Ramona's) bumper music now?!?

Mops

Anyone remember the time Noory played the theme to "Midnight Cowboy" while Strieber was on talking about "Communion?"

I have been trying to find the name of a song for the longest. It's sung quartet style, and it's these "ghost", singing about their demise and in the chorus they reprise that they're still around, can't find it anywhere, I need that song to finish out my Art Bell old school playlist.

This really makes me think of Art...ladies and gentlemen, Jigsaw

Jigsaw - Sky High

I always thought that was a woman singing that song.  I'm disappointed now for some reason.  Still one of my favorite bumpers.

The guy's voice and your comment made me realize that I was well into my teenage years before I discovered that Christine McVie from Fleetwood Mac was not a dude.

I have always loved when Bell played If You Could Read My Mind . But would he have played Johnny Cash's version? And what does everyone think of it? ...

I'm a Cash fan - but this song is way out of his wheelhouse. In fact, I've never heard anyone do it "right" but Lightfoot.

I will always love Johnny, but this is just sad.  His voice was gone.  Old age ain't pretty.  :(

A patient of mine said the following:

If you are lucky enough to get there, old age is either a reward for being truthful or a punishmenet for being dishonest to yourself.

Both are free (though Keepvid has a paid version) and I've had nothing but great results with both.

Very emotional. Thank you for posting this. This was released posthumously, I believe. It sounds like it was sung by someone who was reflecting on a bittersweet life and knew that it was drawing to a close. The cracking of his voice makes it all the more powerful to me.

I use this nifty wee program, tho I should point out I'm somewhat noobish so I don't know too much about it. Never had any probs with it myself.

There's an acoustic piece that Art always plays that I've been looking for for awhile.
I thought it was "Ready For Times To Get Better" by Crystal Gayle but it turns out it's not. They just sounded slightly similar... The song never goes far enough into it before the announcer kicks in and then Art starts talking to tell if their is any vocals or not. Just an acoustic guitar intro that I know of. He plays it quite often. Any ideas? Thanks.
