I've listened to WABC and WFAN all my life, i'm 500 miles away and at night my trusty SONY AM/FM radio could pick up those stations. The thick New York accents make even intelligent callers sound like dumb guidos. But on the other hand that accent and attitude make people funnier, Stern had many regular callers who were hilarious, a couple who were so good they were hired to be on the show. Mike Francesa is a legend in sports talk radio, WFAN was the first all sports talk radio station in the world. Mike is funny, unintentionally mostly, and worse as he got older, but the best thing about Francesa were the regular callers who called in to bust Mike's balls -  there's a guy on Twitter with an account dedicated to Francesa's embarrassing moments and the best funny callers.
Noory would be so easy to prank call - I tried a couple of times on sports talk shows but I'm horrible at it, I start laughing and that ruins everything and I end up looking like a 12 year old loser.

Ed Dames is hilarious, the weight of the world is on him, he's not working with the FBI any longer because he doesn't trust them, he's now tracking down missing/murdered children for the U.S. Marshall's office, he's hot on the trail of some child killer. Suuuuuuuuuuure he is. Fucking kook.

He's talking about Covid 20 and 21, there will be mass starvation when we lock down for long periods of time. Very bleak times ahead according to the Major.

He's now regularly ending the show with his maudlin shtick, 'People have been writing in thanking us for being there for them in these hard times. Folks, you don't have to thank us, I just want you to know we're here for you', about the Covid pandemic playing out with some schmaltzy old song, tonight was 'You'll Never Walk Alone'.

Why so maudlin about a virus that is no more than the seasonal flu George?

haha when Ed Dames thinks you're strange you know you're a loser.  Ed asked George if he ever takes vacations after George accused him of being kinda down. Noory proudly told Dames that he hasn't taken a vacation in 18 years. This is a man with a family, a 90 year old mom, kids and grandkids. Plus he makes a very good living so he can afford nice vacations. In 18 years he hasn't thought of taking mom and the family on a nice cruise, or a family vacation to the Caribbean or maybe rent a cabin on a lake, or DisneyWorld for fuck's sake. Or a vacation on his own with a lady friend or to solo to go fuck whores in Mexico or South America or Thailand.

I know why he doesn't take vacations.

1.) He has no interests or hobbies nor any curiosity whatsoever about anything so there's no point in a vacation for him, he'd just stare at the wall.

2.) He knows how much he sucks at his job so he desperately tries to prove how loyal and hard working he is to Premiere Radio by not taking time off and he's scared if he did take a couple weeks off whoever replaced him would be better and that might be noticed by his bosses at Premiere.

Haha this Frank Marano character is shameless, he stole the name of his new show 'The Other Side of Midnight' from poor old Richard Hoagland. Now he's playing the theme song from 'Midnight in the Desert'. He definitely has done some pilfering of Art Bell's vocal style.

On the plus side he's better than Noory, not a huge accomplishment but he's decent.

The show is like walking into a long term care home. A couple nights ago Noory had on one of his old lady guests on who coughed the entire way through her interview, Saint George of Lebanon took the last couple of minutes to encourage the lady to get to a doctor to investigate her cough. Tonight George Knapp has an old crazy cat lady as his guest and she's been hocking up a lung during the entire interview, she claims it just allergies

I've heard this woman on before, she's kind of charming but clearly a life long kook who spread her legs for many a paranormal charlatan and assorted spiritual gurus. Like most attractive hippy women when they are no longer fuck worthy they become hermits living in the middle of nowhere with cats and other animals.

After Mike's call was over George commented what a fine young man Mike is and such a Coast fan, Ian was silent. Then George told him about meeting Mike and his mom in Denver and then had to add that Coast saved Mike's life. He also told us that there won't be any vaccine for Covid, he being one of the world's great vaccine developers said it's impossible to develop a vaccine in less than a year. He knows nothing but I sure hope he's wrong because without an effective vaccine this shit is going to take who knows how long to burn itself out.

He wrapped up the show again with some words of comfort for a troubled world and played out with an uplifting song he called 'The most important song I've heard in a long time'  It was 'Somewhere There's A Place For Us' from the 1950's Broadway musical West Side Story.

Punnett who it is obvious has more than a little contempt for Noory's Sad Pack finally had enough and attacked Mike the Millennial in a very uncomfortable lecture/diatribe thinly disguised as 'advice'. He then followed up with a shorter similar spiel with Cornelius.

He all but told Mike to piss off and don't call when he's on. Essentially he told Mike to GET A LIFE. He told him he was full of shit about all these young people who listen to Coast Mike claims exist is just a false pretense he uses to call in - Coast has few young listeners and Mike is a weirdo. He accused him of hijacking the show to do his own little show, which is very true, Mike isn't interested in asking questions, he wants to get on the air and repeat whatever he's found online about topics in the news - last night it was Eddie Van Halen, I would guarantee that 2 days ago Mike the Millennial couldn't name a VH song. Ian couched all this as encouraging Mike to follow his dreams, do his own podcast, 'you've got the chops man' but he was really telling him he's pathetic and to stop calling in, that he was on to Mike's shtick, said when he sees Mike is one of the callers on his screen queued up he knows exactly how the call is going to unfold and it is irritating.

Poor Ian, a few minutes later and it's Cornelius and he told ol' Corny 'what I just told Mike the same goes for you' telling him to do his own podcast. He said many callers to radio talk shows do end up in the biz which is true. I feel the same way towards these people, a little empathy but much more contempt. And this is what you get with a no talent host like Noory,
he's so disinterested in doing a good show he becomes a magnet for the lonely shut-ins in his audience. Coast isn't a local show,  people like Louise aka Cleopatra reincarnated and Annie with her rambling idiocy should have no place on a nationally broadcast radio program. Oddballs are welcome but these people are all boring as fuck oddballs.

I fell asleep but the grocery store guest was actually interesting. Of course I'm one of those people who love grocery stores especially 24 hour ones.

Huge night for Mike the Millennial. George told him very seriously he should go into politics because it's 'uncanny' how much he knows and how well he speaks and summed up when it's time to pass the baton the world will be in great shape with young people like Mike to take over.

Mike and his mom, no surprise there, that a 24 year old millennial would need his mom to bring him to a TV studio to meet George on the set of Beyond Buhleef.

what a piece of lying garbage Noory is. he just told one of his useless delusional psychic guests a little story about a friend of his who died a couple years ago. Noory claims he was with the friend and ....... cue the dramatic soap opera organ music ........ 'he was holding a glass of wine and his hand was shaking'. Noory then claims he told his dear friend 'whatever you're doing stop it now or you'll be dead in 2 weeks'.  2 weeks later the friend was found dead of a heart attack and with what Noory described as a 'bunch of prescription garbage in him who knows'.

I don't understand liars, maybe because my mother was a pretty terrible liar I have zero tolerance for them, they are pathetic people - my mom did it mostly to be interesting to other people, or to make herself look better. The odds of Noory actually telling this friend, if he even existed, that he would be dead in 2 weeks are on the Planck scale.

Clyde Lewis is entertaining in small doses, he's not that far away from the Alex Jones tier of wackdom.

There's a new overnight talk show on WABC, at first I thought the host was doing an Art Bell imitation, sounded like Art but as the show went on the host lost that affectation. Poor Hoagie, they stole the name of his little weekend internet show The Other Side of Midnight. Love when people slight Noory, Roger Stone was the first guest and congratulated the host on the new show and opined that he'd beat Coast2Coast. Poor George, even scumbags have such little regard for him.

Nice, Ian's first guest slighted Noory. He's a successful voice over artist Ian's known since his early days who Ian connects with on Twitter, a long time Coast listener. So Ian gets him on the air and asks him about his Coast fandom, dude goes on and on about what a genius Art Bell was, also gives Ian a compliment for his Coast work - COMPLETELY IGNORES NORRY, NOT A WORD about him, as the saying goes 'if you don't have anything nice to say about someone......'

I remember those, are there any still around? I loved family restaurants on family vacations - Howard Johnson's was my favorite. In fact the only part of family vacations I liked was the driving part, the rest stop restaurants and picking out a motel with a pool. Had no interest in visiting tourist attractions, just leave me at the pool with money for the vending machines, enjoy wherever you're going.
