SpaceX Nails Barge Landing

Dr. MD MD

Yep, it definitely got me a little hard  ;)

And that blonde is so cute and loves talking science. This could be the future Mrs. Dr. MD MD  :P

Heh heh.
Historic, really historic.

That would have been a disappointment to fail again on the barge seeing that a Falcon 9 has already landed its 1st stage on a surface target back in December.

I find it difficult to get excited about Space Exploration. 2018 will get me excited when SLS launches on EM-1.  Perhaps I'll feel more excited about Space Explorations Falcon heavy.

I hope there is no current Mrs. Dr. MD MD to read this.  Actually, if there is the dilemma may be resolved.

Freaking fantastic.  SpaceX does it AGAIN!  I heard about it last night and just watched the video.  Bulls eye!  Two in a row!  Way to go SpaceX!  Thanks for putting the balls back into pushing the envelope for space.  Touchdown on the barge at the 9:00 minute mark.  A freaking barge.  ;D

The coolest views are inside of the cryogenic tanks. There is a quick flash inside at 9:28.

Here's a video of their first successful barge landing, back in April.  Woooh, Nelly!  You can see the barge bobbing around.

I admire Musk and his team. Real people to look up to.

I'm happy to be around to see this!
I want to go explore space--NOW.

SpaceX is really getting this down!  Seemingly a hard landing but, still, extremely impressive.

Here is the complete development video for Space Explorations F9 rocket.
For all you Space Exploration fans out there.  I wish that STS had this much support.  That amazing system should still be operational.

Not a barge, this time.  SpaceX launches payload to ISS and then returns Falcon first stage to the Cape.  Damn impressive.

SpaceX makes more astounding progress in making space access more routine, with it's re-use of a Falcon 9 first stage and successful return to a barge off the Cape.  Way to go!

Very nicely done. The concept of a reusable first stage that doesn't have to dump into the ocean is just mind boggling. That's going to cut 30% off of launch costs.

You know Over, that wasn't the only success with this launch. SpaceX also successfully parachuted and recovered the payload fairing for reuse as well. Another 6 million bucks saved.

Yes, I did see that, SciFi.  Elon and his team are right up there with the early pioneers of aircraft, truly revolutionizing spaceflight.  I can see busy spaceports, on the scale of current major airports, finally looking more and more likely in the coming decades.   Plus, finally, a PERMANENT presence of man on the Moon and beyond.  It's good to see we still have ambitious visionaries willing to push the envelope to make it happen.

One more time.  This time an NSA mission and a successful first stage landing back at the Cape.  This video shows the entire flight of the first stage, from the launch configuration to it's landing.  Great shots and still damn amazing.

There is a Bigelow inflatable module currently on the ISS.

Freaking fantastic.  A successful Falcon Heavy launch AND booster recovery.  This time, with two boosters on land and one on a barge at sea.  Way to go SpaceX!
