An off-duty Colorado sheriff's deputy under attack managed to fire his gun and made a "one in a billion" shot.

The deputy's bullet traveled up the barrel of a suspect's gun, colliding with the cartridge inside and lodging itself there.

"This collision rendered the .40 caliber pistol temporarily inoperable," according to the district attorney's investigation into the shooting.

The Jefferson County deputy, Jose Marquez, was in the parking lot of his girlfriend's condo in Aurora on Jan. 26 when two people armed with handguns and wearing masks attacked him, the investigation report said.

Marquez later said when the men approached him and he saw at least one was wearing a mask, he knew something "bad" was about to happen and told investigation he thought, "Oh s----, we're getting into a shootout."

He told investigators he thought he was going to die.

The suspects opened fire hitting Marquez twice in the abdomen and once in the shoulder. The shots fractured ribs and damaged his intestines, colon and liver, officials said.

Marquez later told investigators, even after he was shot, he said to himself, "I'm not dying today. Not today. Any other day, maybe. It's not my time yet."

Marquez managed to return fire hitting one suspect, Jahlil Meshesha, in the leg. It was Meshesha's gun that Marquez managed to fire into.

"[The deputy] immediately started screaming, 'I'm an officer! I'm off duty, someone please help,'" resident Kenneth Mitchell told Denver7 back in January. "By the third shot, he had that out and you could hear as he was screaming more and more that he was in pain."

After that, Marquez lost consciousness.

A second suspect fled and still has not been arrested or identified, officials said.

Dude is going to attempt to jump the Snake River Canyon a la Evel Knievel. I was there in 1974 when Knievel went down in it. I'm thinking about taking my kid for this one in September.

Yes, it definitely is the end.  I distinctly remember this guy talking about Pokemon Go bringing us to our knees.  Add this to his many hits.

Yeah, I posted the link about the speech on the random political thoughts thread but without your adroit sense of humor.  :D Kerry is a joke and will always be a joke forevermore.  To think he might have been President sends chills down my spine.

Kasper Tha Phantom shoots himself in the face. He intended to use the footage in a music video.

Plot twist: I shot myself in the face.
Synopsis: I actually wanted to put this in a music video/ but no cameraman wanted to film it. So I did it myself since I felt like taking a bullet to the face.
Anyway, this was really nothing. I've been shot a couple times before and this was like a 4 out of 10 on the pain scale after the initial impact.
I look slightly disorientated after the blast. That's because my ears were ringing/ in pain. It was hard to focus on sound and although I assumed that i swallowed the bullet/ I wasn't quite sure.
The last time that a bullet ricocheted through me/ it destroyed an organ and part of another.
Now, anyway, to all my friends and family who boo hoo about this shit, deal with it. I don't give a fuck whether you want me to live or not unless you are paying me MONEY. Your care for my life will never supersede my disregard for it. I knew it was possible that the bullet might bounce back and puncture my throat/ but it didn't matter.
And yeah, a bunch of people thought that someone else did this. Nah I would've fought back if that was the case.
And concerning the laughter/ I forgot about what we were laughing at. I think we saw something outside the window for a second that induced the humor, but I can't remember.
When my tongue was moving rapidly around my mouth, I was feeling for my teeth.
Anyway, I should've used a different gun. My friend discouraged me from using the .9mm because he said it was armor piercing.
Armor piercing: I wonder what that'd look like going through my arms/ do you?
Lastly Worldstar initially told me to email them this video, so as of now, before I am anything important, I'm answering all questions concerning my books, art gallery, and mediocre rap/ rock videos.

He submitted the video to World Star and hasn't heard anything back. Doesn't he know that they only show videos where at least one person shouts "WORLD STAR!"? He might have just shot himself in the face for nothing.

I'm sure George Noory is all over this one

It was the story he started the show with, even before DNC news.  Sick.

Coming soon to a Target near you. Lingerie for adventurous males.  Lace and frills abound.  Ladies, what do you think?

When it comes to style, guys are starting to have way more fun: donning skirts, braiding their hair and even applying lipstick and highlighter to their faces.

But there is one trend even the most adventurous dudes have yet to fully embrace: lingerie.

One line is trying to change that. Menagerié â€" we would have gone with “Mangerié” â€" offers silky boxers, lace pajamas and other fancy unmentionables just for guys. But if you’re imagining flouncy pink Victoria’s Secret rip-offs, you’ve got the wrong idea.

“[We want] to bring more adornment and beauty to men’s fashion, but still remind people that it is a brand for men,” Menagerié founder Roman Sipe tells lifestyle Web site Refinery29. Hence the noir palette, clean lines and not-too-skimpy shapes.

Putin's new right-hand man claims to have invented a gadget called the 'Nooscope' which is 'as big a breakthrough as the microscope' (but no-one can tell you what it actually does)

Award-winning economist Viktor Sarayev, who has co-authored a number of articles with the mysterious AK Vaino, told the BBC the device supposedly 'scans transactions between people, things and money' and compared its importance to the microscope.

Might it be a refinement of the global consciousness egg of the Princeton Engrg. Anomalies Research Lab?  Maybe taking as inputs something other than assumed random nuclear disintegrations?

Found you! NASA re-establishes contact with missing spacecraft

http://www.cnn.com/2016/08/23/health/nasa-stereo-spacecraft-found/index.html

(CNN)Despite almost two years of silence, NASA never stopped searching for its long lost spacecraft STEREO-B.

This week that determination paid off.

Lost...
NASA announced Sunday that it had re-established contact with STEREO-B after communications were lost in October 2014.
Contact with the spacecraft -- which works in tandem with a second spacecraft STEREO-A to study the sun -- was lost during a test of one of its timers.

Scientists had been testing the timer when STEREO-B's line of sight and communication to Earth was blocked by the sun.
Meanwhile STEREO-A was unaffected by testing, and continued working normally over the past 22 months

...and found
STEREO-B was recovered using NASA's Deep Space Network -- an array of giant radio antennas that tracks interplanetary missions.
