Well, you attack others while using logical fallacies.  If you think what I and others are saying is "bitching and moaning," then what you are doing is "babbling and embarrassing yourself" with ignorant commentary, but, hey, carry on.  :D

Noory is afraid if he takes a day off, they will change the locks on the studio.

So, what can you do but bitch and moan about it? It's a done deal man. :)
That's a straw man.  People can certainly discuss it, and given that she is now the host, there's no reason the topic of her skills aren't relevant -- that's what this thread is about.  If that's not what you want to discuss, choose a different thread.

Jealous huh?
Not at all, and that's called an ad hominem argument, as it changes nothing about the reality that she's not good at what she does.

It's nice that she has friends here, but she really isn't very good.  She is bright and reasonably confident, but by itself, neither is enough to make listening to her for three hours palatable.  Her voice and delivery, to me, aren't professional, and the personality that comes through is too often sardonic or even a bit smarmy.  It's like having a celebrity's kid take over the show for a night -- they're kind of familiar with how to do it, but in the end, you know they got the job because of nepotism rather than talent.  All that said, there's no reason she couldn't develop her skills, though she's had months since the last time to try.  She's probably smart enough to read the criticism and see where she could improve.  But the place to do this is elsewhere, such as the local college station.  Midnight in the Desert was to be -- and should have been -- Art's triumphant return, and not a training ground for amateurs.

Well, good night, folks.  It's like we're sitting in someone's living room as a party is winding down and just shooting the breeze.

Sorry so cranky.  Just am so disappointed.  And it looks like I will have to return to . . . Coast . . . to . . . Coast.  :o

It seems to be across the board in media . . . a lack of presence, modulation, annunciation, rhythm.  Amateur.

Who is talking right now?  All the fawning sounds practically like it is staged.

The show dead without Art. I wonder if Hogland will abandon ship and start up his own show not part of DMDN. where he has the freedom to upload videos on youtube like the radio with pictures shows that was on youtube, until douche bag keith demanded Richard close the channel.
It is just very sad.  Something lost on the Internet generation is that just because you can talk and ask questions doesn't mean anyone wants to listen to you.  Gone are the days when the professionals sound professional.   This is like listening to a college radio program, and not a particularly good one.  I thought people were too hard on her the first time around, but she's had time to improve.  Or not.  I'm hoping Art will come back on -- and is reading these posts -- but suspect this will be the last time I tune in if this is the show.

Heather's questions aren't bad exactly, but even in this day and age of the banal and amateur, her presence just lacks professionalism.  In the months since she debuted as Art's putative co-host, she doesn't seem to have really done anything to improve, despite so much criticism, even on these boards.  Without Art, the show is all but dead.   Shame.  Maybe Art will come back, but Midnight in the Desert has turned into folly.

I'm on several Art Bell-related social media sites, and the general consensus is that this is just a bogus excuse.  A lot of anger among the posters feeling both disappointed and tired of what they consider Art being deceptive and manipulative yet again.  I will say that while the story rings pretty hollow, Art owes us exactly nothing.   He can leave the airwaves any time he wants and for reasons that are his.   If the story is true, it certainly is fantastic.   Perhaps this is not the end for Art's broadcast career, but it does feel like he's burned a lot of bridges with many fans.   I know that my own excitement for Art's return -- now and in the future -- is diminished.

This is actually pretty deep GM.  I'm unfortunately too inebriated to fully analyze this at present, but will in the future.  Seriously, you've got me thinking.
:)  I should be drunk, too, haha.

It is a curiosity to me.  I think it has to do with a completely fragmented, alienated society with little social cohesion like some other places that seem more culturally unified.  There was a book out some years ago about this state of alienation, called something like "Bowling Alone" which warned of this kind of decline.
We're paranoid because we're always competing against each other, mostly descendant from rabble that Europe and later other continents didn't want, high on satisfying ourselves, including believing in Manifest Destiny, and unwilling to provide meaningful social safety nets.  Our neighbor to the north has nearly the same demographics as we do but few of the problems.

Wow, this "psychologist" is just a jackass who can't bring himself to admit that some cultures just don't have the same criminal violence that ours does because, of course, that would undermine American (and western) exceptionalism.

Ugh, finally get a chance to listen, and this guy's on.  It's not that I mind him so much as he talks about the same thing every single time he's on.
#110
Good for Art stopping the guest from unleashing jargon.  The other guy would have said, "There is no doubt."
#111
Ugh, that idiot time traveler.  Of all the shows to repeat, man, oh, man . . .

Art still off the air?

The question is why wouldn't Art want to make money?  But he's doing it with considerably more integrity and professionalism than that other guy.  He's not trying to gouge anyone, he's keeping commercials to a minimum, and he's enthusiastic about what he's doing.

Not for me. This guy is a legend because he was one of the first, at least the first to get media attention when he got nailed.
Yawn -- listening to him is like listening to some hyperactive kid talk about how he got lots of Halloween candy . . . except the kid would be more articulate.  Turning it off.

Ugh, this guest sucks.  I feel sorry for Art.

It's the same old shit as 20 years ago. Same everything including his pictures, bio, rap, the whole enchilada. Yawn. The guy's a total waste of OOBE. He needs to soak a rag in ether and shove it under his pillow.
I believe it, but who is he?  Off to do a google search.  Ugh, he giggled again.

Dr. Taylor is relaxing and interesting. He's a funny giggler too.
He giggles a bit too much for me, like he's high or mental or both.

George Noory sucks.  I'm not even listening or am responding to anything in particular but just felt it had to be said on principle.

What happened to Art's daughter?  Hope she is okay.
