"Before he disappeared from the cruiser Shiloh on June 8, Mims was known for making crazy-yet-sincere claims. Shipmates recalled him saying he had been to space, and that he could shoot fireballs out of his hands.      After he went missing and sparked a massive, 5,500 square-mile man overboard search across the Philippine Sea, the ship’s crew continued a hopeful and fruitless search for him inside the claustrophobic catacombs of the ship’s engineering spaces."

I read that earlier - absolutely crazy stuff.  Let us hope that 2018 is a little better year for the US Navy.  They are still struggling with that  LCS mess -> https://www.defenseindustrydaily.com/the-usas-new-littoral-combat-ships-updated-01343/

"Vice Adm. Thomas Rowden is expected to send a letter this week stepping down as the head of Naval Surface Force Pacific, according to sources who spoke to Defense News on condition of anonymity."

This is very disturbing.  The US Navy is known for being the most secretive of all the services...but this takes the cake.

It is and bizarre.
Troubling behavior in allied Navy also recently:

How (or why) is it that we are forced to research this for ourselves?  Is there anyone or group conducting a study of this? (Of both US and Royal Navies?)  I have always wondered what eventually happened to the port and bases at Subic Bay after 2001.  I used to follow USN carrier group movements but found the sources unreliable.

What “research” are we being forced to do?   What does Subic Bay have to do with anything?

Seems to me like the Navy has been really open about the whole mess.

Wow.

Former Fitzgerald, McCain COs Face Negligent Homicide, Dereliction of Duty Charges Over Fatal Collisions

All deaths are investigated by a formal board of investigation in compliance with the provisions of UCMJ Article 32 and the Manual of the Navy Judge Advocate General.   The UCMJ  defines criminal homicide in order of severity as murder,  manslaughter or negligent homicide. A report of the board of investigation containing the detailed findings and a charge sheet (as appropriate) would have been submitted to the Convening Authority for staff review and a decision by the CA to dispose of any charges by referral to a court martial, non judicial punishment or by dismissing the charges.  in this case the charges will definitely be referred to a general court martial for adjudication.  Of course the defendant is considered innocent until he is convicted of those charges or a lesser included offense.  This is standard procedure and the board’s findings and recommendations are not at all surprising given known circumstances.

Asian sex parties in which “historical memorabilia” related to MacArthur were used in sexual acts?! Now who could resist that?!

I bet they were doing kinky shit with his trademark corn cobb pipe.  It’s a sacrilege I tell ya and no doubt painful.  They must have been into S&M.

I'm guessing, but only guessing, that it was the old standby "smoking with the pussy" stunt but using a pipe instead of a cigarette? But who knows?

"Darth Vader" recently posted another drug story involving the Navy. More details here:

Finally some positive news out of our NAVY!

I'm all for efficiency and don't like pollution but for military purposes effectiveness should be first priority not "being green." If the "green" technology is more reliable and effective than fine but otherwise glad it is scrapped.

Arguably, to commit treason is merely a complicated way to commit suicide.

Ah, but: does an indictment approach this sea of ham sandwiches?
