I remember an old Far Side where aliens on the moon are watching Earth blow up like fireworks, saying "Oooooh!"

Amarillo, Texas, where Art was stationed, has the only facility in the US that assembles nuclear weapons, called Pantex.

Bad analogy.  And you're missing the point.  First of all, there is no comparison between airplanes and nuclear weapons.

Secondly, the point of my comment is that the very creation and stockpiling of nuclear weapons is INSANE in and of itself.  Do you understand, bro?  Am I getting through to you?  Do you know the definition of insanity?  If not, look it up.

Nuclear weapons are an example of insanity.  Airplanes are an example of a form of fucking transportation.  BIG difference, bro.

It's called responsibility.  And the lack thereof.

Your arguement shows a lack of understanding of weapon systems development throughout history.

This is a weird guest.  I don't get what the point of this show is.  Yeah, we all know nuclear war is a very double plus bad idea.

Bullshit.  But nice try.

By the way, no comment on the link I posted, Mr. Smoking Joints Cheef of Staff?

http://www.alternet.org/story/149821/how_reagan_brought_the_world_to_the_brink_of_nuclear_destruction

The US nuclear arsenal contracted through the 1980's. In 1980 it was 23,368. By 1985 21,392, by 1990 10,904. The soviets however increased exponentially right up until 1988. The article is intentionally skewing the situation as it was. Reagan did modernize the arsenal, but there was no net increase in warheads on our side. The blame lays squarely on the soviets.

This guy knows far to much about this, so i imagine, he starts his day off and his job is predicting doom.
A bit depressing, dont think he would be the guy with the lampshade on his head at a party.

I want to hear more carnage.  I want him to describe how we all would die horribly.

Did you actually read the article?

You want quotes?

"his nuclear policy rhetoric and actions, both prior to and during his first term in office, might well have banished all life from earth instead."

Ronald Reagan said "the day of Armageddon isn't far off. ... Ezekiel says that fire and brimstone will be rained down upon the enemies of God's people. That must mean that they'll be destroyed by nuclear weapons."

Soon after his inauguration on January 20, 1981, President Reagan dramatically increased the American military budget (an effort, it was said, to "bankrupt the Soviet Union"). He sought to add each of those new nuclear weapons and delivery systems to the American arsenal, deployed new medium-range nuclear missiles in Western Europe, and began to contemplate a missile defense system that, from the Soviet perspective, could provide America with the ability to launch a nuclear first strike and defend itself against the remnant Soviet nuclear response.

And Reagan started the START talks which were eventually completed under Bush 41. That did away with a bunch of tactical nukes.

With the right wine pairing it's almost relaxing.

The worst part is the USA gave Russia so much cash after the Soviet Union fell, what did they spend it on?

I remember living in Europe in the 1960's and in school we had drills where we were told to get under our desks to protect us from a nuclear attack.  I remember thinking to myself, I hope we have warning and enough time to get under our desks when it happens.  I was about 5 years old, so don't call me stupid.

A different time, back then stuff was built tough, I cite as evidence our desks in school would protect you from a nuclear blast!  What do kids have now, Ikea?  Good luck!
