Hi Neb! I knew I could count on you being here. I have to listen to the replay for the earlier guests but thought the last guest was really interesting. Not too often we hear someone who can so seamlessly mix aliens, science, religion and government into such a coherent common-sense theory. Really enjoyable. I'm about to settle in with my second cup of chamomile tea to listen to the first part. Already looking forward to Knapp's show next week

Hello girl!  Yes, awesome  program last week!  So good to know that you were listening!  Can not wait for another KNAPP NIGHT!

ItsOver

A big "bravo!" to Knapp for having the guts and drive to take on this topic and present The Other Side.

http://www.lasvegasnow.com/news/ourpain-the-other-side-of-opioids/852432872

It's also his subject for this Sunday's show.

DATE
Sunday - November 26, 2017
HOST
George Knapp
GUESTS
Dr. Lynn Webster,    Josh Bloom,    Stephen Ziegler,    Richard Lawhern
Millions of Americans who rely on opioid medications for pain relief are in anguish because of government pressure to reduce prescriptions across the board. Doctors, pharmacists, and other providers have already made drastic cuts in the amount of pain medicine they dispense, with more cuts on the way. These actions are in response to media reports about an opioid "crisis." Imagine diabetics being told they can no longer be prescribed insulin, or cancer patients being told that chemotherapy is no longer an option. George Knapp recently produced a multi-part investigative series for KLAS in Las Vegas on opioids and the people who truly need them. George will explore pain relief, big pharma, and government intrusion, with multiple physicians and professionals including Dr. Lynn Webster, Josh Bloom, Stephen Ziegler (related study), and Richard Lawhern.

Yep, it's one thing to declare them bad or evil because of the damage they can do but for serious pain management there often is no alternative. It'll either be an interesting debate or boring as fuck.  ;)

Knapp tonight!  The topic is not one I am especially interested in, but we shall see.

My sentiments too. But he already roped me in with his introduction. A conspiracy angle. Reminds me of the President W. era when we were all going to die from the flu pandemic that never happened. So terrible that they put the Secretary of Defense in charge of fighting it. Supposedly the only protection was Tamiflu. Which flew off the shelves. Then we found out Rumsfeld just happened to be heavily invested in Gilead stock. The producer of Tamiflu. Interesting how we have never had such a big flu pandemic since

You'd think you would've learned from that but no. From one corporatist to another.  :D

lol. I'm always too sleepy to talk coherently by the time Knapp opens up the lines. In fact some people might think I'm fairly incoherent even when I'm wide awake. But maybe Miss Nebraska should call in some time  ;)

Hi TL, Nebraska and all.  :D Busy right now but I'm enjoying Knapp while I work.

I completely understand.... it will be over two hours if Knapp even takes callers.  However, your point is so relevant.  I am, surprisingly, interested in this program.  Knapp, as usual, doesn't disappoint.  Take good care.

Wow how dare they, and worse they allowed people the right to choose weather or not they got the flu shot.

But putting a gun to people’s heads and forcing them to buy everything for $1000s per month more in the name of Obamacare, that was a good thing. No government kickbacks there. 🙄

Good to see a few people here for a night of "good George."  I'm not overly interested in the topic- but it is good to hear somebody trying to use common sense to say that while illegal use is bad they do have a place to treat some people...

Call in, TL!  8)

Agreed.

What is going on with pain patients is a travesty.  If people can manage their lives better with the opioids then let the doctors prescribe and monitor their patients.  This is another instance where more government involvement is bad for our society.  Stop voting for politicians who want to make the government even more powerful. Get them to butt out of our lives.

TigerLily

Hey. I just took my opioid and I'm trying to nap here. Keep it down

I vote we have more Sundays in each month. Or at least make the first Sunday a second third Sunday

I tend to agree. I know more than one person who required some pain medication and it allowed them to function (I also know one who ended up addicted).  Just the same- I knew a lady when I was up north who was on about the strongest pain medication allowable by law(I think she told me that there were less than a dozen people in this province prescribed whatever medication it was.)  I saw her when it was wearing off, and I cannot imagine the government having the nerve to deny it to her all together. If a specialist in pain prescribes something, an elected official with no education should not be allowed to override them.

A topic I didn't think I would care too much about but really kept my interest. When something like this is going on I always like to follow Woodward and Bernstein's example and follow the money but in this instance it's difficult to figure out who profits from withholding legally prescribed drugs

See you next month Good George. Goodnight everyone

There has to be a way to trade "George's"?  5 nights a week of "good George" for us and the good people of Las Vegas can have an "award winning journalist" on their news station.  Noorie can even host coast a couple of Sundays a month.  :)

Anyhow, g'night all.

Just finished listening to the first two guests.  What a great show. Interesting topics and guests. And I especially appreciate Good George's masterful interviewing. What a novel idea. Have a knowledgeable, engaged interviewer asking intelligent perceptive questions. It's easy to tell how much the guests appreciate it too. Definitely worth losng sleep over

Good George is by far the most competent and interesting substitute host C2C has.  He maintains a high degree of journalistic integrity when delving into the paranormal and does not suffer fools.     He’s definitely a class act.
