John F. Kennedy.  He wasn't president though, just a senator.  He was running for president and appeared in a local parade.  After the parade his people were setting up a speaker's platform in the local park.  Kennedy was standing under a tree, stretching his back.  My mom approached him and said, "Senator Kennedy, would you sign my son's cast?"  John whipped out a pen and said, "Sure."  So he signed my brother's broken arm cast as I looked on.  I was too young to realize how important he was politically.  In fact, when I heard that 'Senator Kennedy' would be appearing in the parade, I said, "Who's that?"  Mom took a cool pic that is floating around somewhere in the family archives.  Nice closeup of Kennedy signing the cast.

Awesome!

Since my girlfriend uses the vibrato all the time, I feel like wah-wahing most nights.

?

Her vibrato can drain the battery quick, so sometimes passive is best. You don't want her to be halfway through when the device suddenly goes dead because that can be awkward.

I regularly use these for guitar.  Pop.  Rock. Rhythm.

Yeah, I need the 2mm version of those. It's black but they come powdery grey. The powder wears off after a little bit. I hate Walmazon and will never use that god damn site.

If I wanted a Bigsby (which I do) I would've got a Gretsch (which I considered) but my love of Junior Barnard solos moved me this way. ;)

I wish I could play like that. I'm too soulless.

I really like this particular Jim Dunlop 2mm Gator grip but can no longer find any in real life, only on Amazon. I like the angles, radius of the tip, everything. This is kind of ruining my life.

The caller asked Heather if she's still going into Area51, and she said yes, but it's going to be delayed.

You are missing Dave's story, it's part of who he is and how he works.

If weirdness is out there it's probably going to find yours truly. Case in point: i'm driving on the highway this afternoon, speeding as usual but not excessively so. Traffic was starting to get thick and my brain just looks for the path of least resistance.  At one point the right lane became the fast lane but I can see it's changing ahead back to normal. So, I work my way back into the left lane and didn't cut anyone off in the process but I can see in my rearview a guy drive aggressively toward me, as if to say, That was my spot, asshole! The dude gets right up on my behind. He couldn't have been more than a foot or two from my back bumper. Normally, I don't like to fuck around and would just let someone like this pass but traffic was getting thick so fuck him! I apply the brakes to let him know to back the fuck off but it just makes him madder. I can see now that he has a flip phone up to his ear and appears to be talking to someone while yelling obscenities at me, no doubt. At this point I figure Fuck it! I want to see what this asshole looks like so I'm at least going to let him get up beside me. When I did the guy seemed to be wearing a police uniform and screaming at me to pull over. I was almost going to but I'm no amateur at this . I know that even if the guy is in an unmarked car they'll flash their hidden lights and turn the siren on briefly to get me to do that and it ain't happening with this guy. I just laughed at him. He swore a bit more at me and then started tailgating someone else. I figure perhaps it was an attempt at robbery or extortion. Thoughts?

I had something similar happen to me northbound between Cincinnati and Columbus when my wife was driving. It went on for about 40 miles until we finally made an exit ramp in a way where he couldn't also take the same ramp. This was before cellphones became popular. I too would have 911'd him. I no longer have a car, but if I did I would not be driving it without a GoPro in the front and back.

Yah, good sites. I saw Testament on that tour also. Yeah, at Priest last month there was a girl near me with a tablet or large smartphone who was friggin' live streaming the show on Facebook or twitter or some crap. Phone in face all the time and was annoying.  I saw Anvil a couple of years ago playing a free show at the local Harley dealer. It was summer and so hot as hell and the crowd wasn't large but they still played well and with passion. After the show "Lips" and the band were walking around and talking to folks and he was a nice guy, normal person.

FYI you had post #111666 with that reply. I saw your Priest summary a couple weeks ago, glad you saw Glenn. I know Iommi was great and godlike, but Glenn with KK was true metal pioneering. Sabbath was pre metal, JP were a whole other breed of guitar attack. A lot of their leads is actually just blues.

I don't know much about Anvil, but Jesus Herbert Walker Christ Jr that is one ugly motherfucker. Uglier than Sloth in Goonies. Canada produced some good punk bands in the 70s and early 80s but not too much metal if any.

Couple of album/poster-quality shots there. Those bottom two are works of art.

Thanks, little funsized Sony Cybershot 10.2 megapixels still holding up. Maybe one day I will  upgrade to 14 megapixels. I use obsolete stuff, I love uncool stuff. I pull this camera out and people go "You USe A cAmerA???" I'm like "huh?". The looks I get on the subway when I pull out the iPod Classic are beyond weird. Like I'm etheopian or something. Sometimes strangers comment and giggle when I am minding my own business and cycling through on my iPod. They can all die.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Exodus_members

If you go to wikipedia or metal sites it is funny to look at the spreadsheets of certain bands and how they change, merge, etc over time.
Going to see Slayer with Lamb of God, Anthrax, Behemoth, Testament in about a month. Should be fun.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rlTXI1W10y4&list=RDrlTXI1W10y4&t=38

These days people switch bands like sports players switch teams. I can't keep up, I use Blabbermouth. The comment sections are on par with MITD memery. The meming in the comments is the main reason to go there. Even if the band is a worthless piece of shit, there is pure gold in the comments more times than none. I don't post/contribute, I just read.

I think Liarpedia's most valuable commodity is seeing who was in what bands at what time. I also like the graphical timelines on band pages. For lots of other info like Political events or backgrounds of Corporate entities the information is obviously a bunch of conveniently produced horseshit.

I have the old 1982-83 Exodus demos with Kirk. I can appreciate it but I can't imagine him playing stuff like Verbal Razors or Objection Overuled. I saw Exodus open for Body Count in 1992, DRI was also on the bill. They had John Tempesta (Testament/White Zombie) on drums at the time, also Rick Hunolt was still in the band.

I recently saw them 2 years ago, Rick was long gone but Tom Hunting was on drums and IMO he is the classic drummer of Exodus, not overly skilled but good, and I like him in Exodus. I also like Zetro as singer, and I am so glad he is back and got to see him atleast one more time.

I can't wait until Slayer are finished and Gary goes back to his band full time. I want to see them all get atleast another 10 years out of Exodus. They all work day jobs except Gary. Steve is a carpenter like Harrison Ford. Also want to add that these guys are very nice and respectful to the fans who still come out 30 years later. Everybody else pussied out or gimmicked it up but they never did.

Have fun at the metal show. I was front row for Testament about this time 2 years ago. Had small camera in my palm, blasted some salvo shots with a push button and got a couple good ones. I didn't have a cellphone in the air, so no obstruction by me. Fuck I hate those people.

i still listen to the first 4 and Garage Days albums..anything else is pure..garbage

They recorded Ride The Lightning slow and sped it up during playback. Everything is up a step. <cheatcode enabled>

On And Justice For All the drums were recorded in small sections and spliced together like modern pop singers do. Lars sucks.

I still like KEA with the original tracklist but will never listen to Seek And Destroy again, too long and boring.

I like RTL too even though they cheated to make speedier songs.

Kirk seems nice but he actually sucks at leads. Like Lars, he gave up practicing his instrument. Mantas from Venom evolved and grew, so did Gary from Exodus, but Kirk bought a Crybaby and turned lame after AJFA. Lars is just as plain.

Chuck Biscuits and Dave Lombardo, those were A+ drummers in heavy bands. And like the band or not but Charlie from Anthrax was always really good.

Jimmy DeGrasso and Nick Menza were also really good speedmetal drummers who played with Suicidal Tendencies and Megadeth at their peaks. I think DeGrasso played with both bands. Check out S.T. Live in Madrid 1993 on YouCensor. The band is on fire but singer Mike is out of breath from the first verse onward, it's still really good.
