Archive of Old Threads / Music-who likes Neil Young?
November 27, 2008, 07:35:25 PM
I could never appreciate Neil when I was younger, but I like him now. Does anyone else here like Neil Young? If you do, you could listen to some of his music here:

Archive of Old Threads / I just embarrassed myself
October 26, 2008, 05:24:48 PM
So I post on this other forum as well, and someone at that site started a thread saying that he had a joint and a glass of wine. I am used to posting with my avatar at a particular George Noory thread there and sometimes will post on other threads as well, but without my avatar. Well, I thought I was logged out, and thus posting anonymously, so what was my reply?

and I quote myself: "Should you be mixing drugs like that? Isn't that dangerous?"

yeah...then I realized that I had posted under my avatar, so I amended my post to say:

Should you be mixing drugs like that? Isn't that dangerous? I don't mean to sound like your mother, just makes me nervous. Pick one and go with it.

(yes, I'm a tea tottler)

(and a nerd)

ahhh....once a nerd, always a nerd....

Archive of Old Threads / Best Halloween songs
October 18, 2008, 03:47:49 PM
What are your favorite Halloween diddies?

Mine are:
Everyday is Halloween  by Ministry
Scary Monsters  by David Bowie
Monster Mash  by Boris Pickett

This brings back fond memories of my goth days...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7O04jRtMyc

Everyday is Halloween

Well I live with snakes and lizards
and other things that go bump in the night
'Cuz to me everyday is Halloween
I have given up hiding and started to fight
I have started to fight
Well any time, any place, anywhere that I go
all the people seem to stop and stare
they say 'Why are you dressed like it's Halloween?
you look so absurd, you look so obscene'
Oh, why can't I live a life for me?
why should I take the abuse that's served?
why can't they see they're just like me
it's the same, it's the same in the whole wide world
well I let their teeny minds think
that they're dealing with someone who is over the brink
and I dress this way just to keep them at bay
'Cuz Halloween is everyday
it's everyday ....

Not exactly a Halloween song, but it fits the mood. For your listening and viewing pleasure, more industrial goth courtesy of Skinny Puppy:

Archive of Old Threads / Is George Noory a Demon?
September 20, 2008, 03:31:11 PM
It really begs the question. I am catching up on old Coast shows that I missed, while I work on my computer all weekend. I am listening to the 5/19/08 show, this is a show description from the C2C site:

Angel communicator Ann Albers discussed mystical dimensions, evolved spiritual beings, and demonic entities. Angels are like the nerve signals of the universe, and can be thought of as frequency beings, she said. Demons, in contrast, are disconnected from the field, and consciously and maliciously seek to foster negative emotions. A good way to disengage from demons is to not indulge or react to them, so they have nothing to feed on, she explained.

Albers said she is able to send her consciousness into other dimensions, which are spheres of awareness. The frequency of the angelic realm is like a beautiful symphony, with a swirling mass of color, she detailed, adding that she regularly receives guidance from a variety of angelic presences.

The angels convey that humans have access to the same information or source that they do, and must learn to put as much trust in themselves as they do in them, she shared. Intention is important in developing the ability to communicate with angels, as well as the belief that it's a natural thing to do, Albers noted.

Albers is an Angel communicator. This should have been a show about ANGELS, and yet George Noory insisted on asking question after question about demons. Thanks to all his harping in this one direction, the Angel communicator did an entire show about demons. He is obsessed. What a sick fuck. Damn you George, you miserable douche. Isn't it enough that he revels in stories about dead children, that he pretends to have psychic powers, that he has an ego the size of Mt. Rushmore, that he has ruined Coast to Coast, that he comes across as a smarmy, self involved, greedy bastard, that he pretends to be something he is not ( a nice guy, a 'light' worker), etc.  No, none of this suffices. No. He has to always turn to the dark side of everything, whether it be fear mongering about 2012, scaring the public with tall tales of impending doom (e.g.CERN) or turning a show about Angels into a show about demons.

The icing on the cake was when the snoron asked Albers if Angels are like Clarence in It's a Wonderful Life.

Fuck you George.

Archive of Old Threads / Calling all geeks....
September 10, 2008, 06:58:49 PM
Like comic books? Stories where the protagonist is the type of person who would post at this site? Then check this out...

from NPR site:
I Kill Giants  is told from the point of view of fifth-grader Barbara Thorson, whose Myers-Briggs profile will seem awfully familiar to many a geek: touchy, kind of a loner, obsessed with books and myths.

The tone is of the book is dark, and will likely only get darker as young Barbara's fantasy world of protection spells and elaborate giant-traps rubs up against some of the harder edges of reality. Or at least against the lunchroom.

I normally don't read comics, but may have to  make an exception for this!

I came across this definition for Limp Bizkit. This is the funniest thing I have read in a long time. I like the band a lot, but I guess not everyone shares the love! I will try to craft a similar definition of Coast to Coast and put it up later, unless someone else here has the time (hint, hint)! haha!

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?page=2&term=limp+bizkit

11. limp bizkit   82 up, 81 down
The most terrible band of the past 15 years. Everything about them sucks. This fact has been well documented in countless web pages, reviews, and articles all over the Internet so I won't go into many details. Fred Durst is a closet egomaniac; the fact that he just happened to be oafing around in the right place at the right time when the music industry went through another in a long series of bizarre, unexpected detours through inexplicable-trend-land and the spotlight fell on dudes with baggy pants, downtuned guitars, and borderline-retarded grunting in place of actual vocals has filled him with the worst kind of foolish, brash pride that has been well documented by concert promoters, radio staff, and various other industry insiders. Wes Borland is not talented; he just owns a lot of stomp boxes. I'm not a "hater"; I just have ears. Their new record, which appears to be some kind of awful attempt at making a political/social statement, debuted at #24 on the Billboard Top 200 and sold about 37,000 copies it's first week out, which subsequently slid to 12,000 copies when week two rolled around. Ouch. So much for "still raking in millions", right Chase?
Fred Durst was raised in Gastonia, North Carolina; a town about an hour from where I live. This fact fills me with shame.

The more I read it, the funnier it gets!

Ran across this on another site, and thought I would share it with you all. This and the related videos have to do with space aliens, a topic near and dear to my heart.

How To Use BellGab / Pictures in post-How?

How do I upload a picture into my post?

Art will be back to host with guest, Majorette Dames next Friday. Hopefully, he'll also do Open Lines. Open Lines is fascinating in the skilled hands of a host who has the balls to take unscreened calls.
