Yes, but I am not sure how much of a role Warhol played in it.
I barely remember seeing it, but remember it being somewhat tough to watch.

I offer you Linda Ronstadt,
...and I rest my case.
Breathtakingly gorgeous in her 20's, in her 50's a reminder that those incredibly delicious refried beans really are liquified with lard.
That was mean though. Linda did have one of the most beautiful voices in music, and it's still very rich and moving. Thank Gaia we all don't have to depend on our attractiveness in public to earn our living, or most of us wouldn't be chubbies - we'd starve to death. At least I would.

long live the coyle!
I was thinking back and can honestly say that when I was young I spent about 25% of my daisy duke time looking at her tits. 75% of the time was all about that box and ass.
So, I had to look around and found this...
my boner screamed a resounding superman "NOooooooooooooo." Damn you father time damn you to HELL!!
I apologize for my participation in all of this derailment but when the convo is good... the convo is good.

Does George play this song? I've never heard it, but I recognized it immediately because it seems like every dance pop tune these days has this same screamingly gay sound. I hate it.
The scene in the video made me think of either the Pattaya walking district in Thailand or that famous shopping district in Tokyo. I was wondering if anyone here has <cough> done Thailand. I've never been, but were it safe I would like to. Not for the girls, I would never do that. Matter of fact I had it removed just to honor the women of the National Organization for Women. I mean for the beaches, of course. That's beaches, b-e-a-ches, not the one that rhymes with witches. And I hear Thai McDonald's is to die for. Or from.

...I am sick of patriotism being about the sacrifice of soldiers and not about multimillionaires moving their monies to other countries... to me that is treason. ok rant mode off. Screw it I can't seem to get on topic.

Many 'real' cowboys in my family, and a few that went into the pro rodeo circuits. Was going to go pro myself until I suddenly came to my senses ...... That said, I look at the 'westerns' with a critical eye.
There are so very few 'Hollywood cowboys' that can even marginally ride a horse .... Yule Brynner comes to mind. Looks like a sack of spuds lashed to a pack saddle. There are many more like him, and it's amusing because Hollywood has the most amiable, smoothest, unassuming horseflesh you'll ever find.

Anyone see that Dracula with Udo Kier in it? I found it pretty funny actually. But Kier was a perfect hambone in that movie.

Speaking of horror, anyone see a movie called Cigarette Burns with Norman Reedus? I am not a horror fan, in general, but this movie wasn't really a horror movie, more like a really imaginative, disturbing film which had some horror in it. I watched it 'cause of Norman (we should start a Norman thread), but discovered it to be really cool. Udo Kier is in it, too. Gotta have Udo for anything thing disturbing and German.

I hear your concerns and validate your feelings, Usagi. I find myself in a very similar situation, as it happens, which is never knowing whether my reader will be bright enough to figure out that what I've written is a joke, and will thus need a visual aide. I used to think wit was plain enough for all to see, until the modern era began. You know the one, the "same smell, less brain" human era we're living in now? And I learned otherwise.

Oh Lord Jesus. I realize that this is a touch old now. I'd seen the (hold your ears) memes for a while now, but I only discovered the video today.
Let me just say that I'm not exaggerating when I say this might be the greatest thing I've ever seen in my life. Watch the whole thing. I promise you will be rewarded.

Have managed to collect a bunch of old systems, with games. My most impressive (or depressing, considering) are an Intellivision (in box, 25 or so boxed games with controller inlays) and an ancient Telstar system that plays handball, tennis (pong) and "hockey". Also most systems I grew up with, excepting the TG16 (I totally refuse to pay over $50 for that system, regardless of how much Blazing Lazers it promises).

Bonanza .... Pa Cartwright, Little Joe, Hoss, and Adam. A male cook ....... and not a woman in sight.
Never seemed to do any work around the 'ranch' ..... and not a woman in sight.
Always had their collective noses in other peoples business ..... and not a woman in sight.
Anything seem a little 'odd' here .... ?

Great list, especially Sophie's Choice and Million Dollar Baby. I would add one of Mel Gibson's first films, Gallipoli.

Generally, documentaries or reputable dramatizations do the trick for me, like One Day In September, (1999) Bloody Sunday(2002) The Thin Blue Line (1988)
Movies about real injustices/coverups etc...that aren't presented by corpulent Texas conmen with a bullhorn.

That was one of the more graphic, realistic nuclear attack movies. It came out right around the same time the US movie The Day After. Threads is far more disturbing. After not watching it since it was originally shown in the US on cable TV, I made myself watch it a second time about a year ago. It still had the same effect on me.
