Listening to him, I got the impression he more into 'religion' as an intellectual pursuit than as a believer.

If that is true he's not telling someone the truth. He has a profess a deep personal belief in what he studies in order to be ordained. Just a thought.

Probably been said. Here's my 2 cents. RH is a bonified, died in the wool, "A" Number One Flimflam Man!!!

My point exactly. They haven't used small Cessna type aircraft in a long time. It definitely would not hold enough chemical to do anything. Even the very large and powerful crop dusters in use now couldn't hold enough chemicals to have any big effect. The only large contrails that I have seen were behind B17 or B29 bombers in WW2 and even they were at 25,000 feet altitude. That's out of the question. The whole chemtrail thing just makes no sense. It would also take a plane of immense size to carry enough. The plane would have to fly low and slow. Planes that carry large amounts of water to extinguish fires, dropping their entire loads barely make a difference. How could any plane of similar size or even larger have any effect over a large area? As opposed to 300 feet wide and 1000 miles long.

I could never understand how Ian could personally and publicly separate his personal beliefs and
effectively do a show such as Coast to Coast. Then, that's not my business I guess.

All I really want to know is if he gets his Tinnitus cured, what was done and who did it?

I think it's very brave of him posting at all. It did verify a few things to me.

I do love his hobby.

I do believe that the Government have spent much and have tried every way possible to either control the weather or at least make stuff fall from clouds at will. I can't believe that a contrail behind a plane at great altitude would be an effective way of delivery. There simply isn't enough moisture or ice particles there to deliver much at all. Plus, if it were possible, the area affected would probably be a much larger one than wanted because of the speed of the aircraft.  If you ever see a single or multi-engine aircraft at lower altitude with a contrail, that's a different story.

Paranormal - Conspiracy - UFOs - Etc. / Re: disclosure
February 12, 2012, 07:45:27 PM

I believe the language in the first post "extra-terrestrial weapons" referred to any weapon based on our Moon or any other extra-terrestrial body.

Even though I don't believe in the UFO phenomenon, I personally, along with my wife and son SAW, on a very clear morning, a UFO or something that seemed to be flying. We were traveling south on a very straight highway in very flat farmland in Northeast Arkansas. I saw a very bright and small lit (white) object very far and just to the right of the road. It was making a 180 degree turn. I thought it was a crop duster making a turn from the way it was moving. My son yelled from the back seat "what is that?" After about three seconds and completing the turned, it streaked off at about 30 degrees upward across the horizon and faded out.  If it was solid, it would have been traveling very fast. Much faster than a crop duster. We see many of those during that time of year.

After thinking about it a while. I could see where it may be some sort of atmospheric reflection. It looked very bright, but not solid. From our direction of travel and the position of the Sun, it may have been a reflection. Even though it has been 15 years, it is still very clear in all of our minds.

If there finally is clear "disclosure", I will be the first to admit I was wrong. I have been reading about UFO's since I was a child and truly "I Want to Believe."

Whoa! If I had to validate whether a guest is credible, I would never have listened at all. I know I'm going to alienate  ;D some here , but Coast to Coast is the Professional Wrestling of radio. It's neither credible and is completely incredible. When I listened, it was for entertainment reasons only.

The topics over the past few years have all become so based in NEW AGE, I can't stand to listen to one minute. I do listen occasionally to George Knapp. His shows about UFO's are so interesting, it makes me almost want to believe they are real.

Art had several callers over the years that I believe were not plants and were very entertaining.
The shows since Art are all fake, faked with faked interest by the interviewer and even worse skills that can't be faked. That's no fake!   :o

What a really good question to ponder Angeleyes! I have listened to Art Bell and all forms of the Coast Show for as long as I can remember. I'm not even sure when it was I heard the first show. The 80's? I know it's been a very long time. I have not listened to every single show, but as many as I possible can or could, as it were. When shows were first recorded for later listening (prepodcasting) I would download them and burn them to CD and listen the next day.

I believe I have listened to more than a thousand shows, if not more. I once pondered as to whether
I believed them or not. For the most part, I only listen to them for entertainment purposes only and have come to feel sorry for those that I think drink this stuff up as completely real. Mostly callers I have heard on the show. Then there have been times when there have been guests on the show that are very serious and have very real subject matter. They have must have slipped through the Networks filtering for Real People with Real Facts.

Over the past few years I have lost interest because of George Noory. I was tired of hearing the
apathetic interviewer trudging through very boring subjects. Also, it was the very same subject matter
repeated almost on a daily basis. It was never that way during the Bell years. If it was. it was not noticed. Art also came up with the most incredible stuff. Was it Mr Fidget? With that fidget toy or whatever it was? This guy supposedly was just a caller and would up being a guest! This was not
the only time I heard this happen. I know I haven,t listened in a while. I haven't heard anything like this with Noory. OK, off topic. I didn't intend on Noory bashing.

No I don;t believe 99.9% percent of the subject matter. There are those that believe it all.

Oh, I did believe the Fidget toy was interesting.

Politics / Re: Politics
February 12, 2012, 06:15:58 PM

No sooner than I had hit the POST button on my last comment, a news reporter said (with a gleam in his eye as the song goes) "Gas prices are on their way up to the highest ever!" Possibly $5.50 per gallon. That report was 50 cents higher than what the same network reported two days ago. I believe, liberals are waiting and hoping for a crash. Because, all through history, liberalism flourishes through uncertain times and Anarchy is their playground.

On the flip side of that coin. A few days ago I ran into a local businessman. He told me of his conservative beliefs. Plus, he told me what he had learned under a certain business professor. What I heard gave me the creeps. He sounded like he was from another planet. (need to report him to R. Hoagland)

BTW (in previous post "own ass" not "on ass"  :-\

I have been watching the Republican party disintegrate over the past couple of decades. Like the Democratic party, they have completely disconnected with reality and have not a clue what is worrying most Americans. They give lip service to what they think they hear and play back only what are their greatest concern is, "keeping their on ass flush!!"

Another thing. I don't care who gets the nomination or who wins, if gas goes to 5 bucks a gallon, you can kiss this economy GOODBYE!! The rule for gas prices since the 70's has been "Raise the price. Let them get use to it. Wait. Push the price up. Let them get use to it." The problem with this is, in the past, we could generally absorb the price increase. We can't do that any longer. Price of fuel affects every little thing, from the bottom up. America won't survive another increase of much magnitude.
I may be wrong here and I hope I am.

Snooooooore. Lyme Disease. Snooooooore.
I use to listen to C2C rather often. Now that Premier Radio or GN is on the
New Age binge or other topics so worn out that The History Channel won't even touch them. What are they thinking?

Oh man, I was listening to a past show from the past week or so. I can't remember which one. It had interesting subject matter for me. (has to be for me to listen).
I can't remember what you call the particular grammatical error he made, but when he did it I just cringed. I sat back and thought how this Olf could keep a job the caliber he has with the poor interview skills and poor grammer he uses. I thought
I was bad. He makes me feel good !!!!!! Thanks George !!!!! (Now, back to work,"Denoso,  Magee,  Zina. Where's that information I asked for?")

Oh Lord, that looks like the thing John Lithgow as Lord John Whorfin / Dr. Emilio Lizardo and was trying was trying to escape earth in on the movie" The Adventures of Buckaroo Bonzi Arcross the 8th Deminsion." I think I'm the only person on the planet that actually liked the movie. I hope it made it back to the 8th deminsion. Maybe John Bigbootie was on board.

Goes to show ya. You can take the Ham out of Art , but you can't take Art out of Ham. Or Pahrumph.

Oh Art, You're gonna make me have to work now. I read it in the FCC regulations posted on the web. I'll get the actual wording and post it and location. I looked it up after hearing another Radio talkshow host compaining about it one day. I had to see it for myself too.

Radio and Podcasts / Re: Art's final broadcasts

Putting all of Art's politics aside I believe some of Art's later appearences on the show was more of a "Hey, I can even do this show online from the Philllipines" kind of curiosity. As he has mentioned many time on his show before his retirement, Art loves his Ham Radio hobby and is very curious about New Technologies. He has mentioned many times the different advancements in the Ham Radio Arena and was very blown away by them. I listened to one of his classic shows a few nights ago. I can't remember his guests name, but the guy had college degree's in about ten different areas. One of them was Electronics Engieering and he and Art had a very deep discussion about using "noise" to boost small signals in a very fast computer processor.
Art had a difficult time understanding because ALL his electronics training impales in your mind that  "Noise is your enemy!"

Now I said all that to make this point. I believe Art did some of the later shows as a challange to his new found technology that would allow him to do it half a world away! Plus, even with this new technology, I couldn't imagine how much those shows cost him or the network to make work....correctly. He even mentions on just about every later show he does from there that he is still working with the apartment complex on getting a ham radio antenna mounted.  From that point he will be able to talk to his old friends he made on ham radio while he was in Pharumph (<is that how you spell it?) All he'll have to do is key the microphone and talk to them like they are in his neighborhood. That's how far Ham Radio has come. It's literally amazing!
Anyway, he may have been more interested in the ability to do the show that actually doing the show itself. That's just my opinion from my strange point of view.

Until I found this board I didn't know much about Art's personal life. I have listened to him long enough to remember him mentioning his son once just prior to his two week retirement in the late 90's. Yes, he has accomplished much in his life, but there is no excuse for neglecting your children, in any way, EVER !!!
As far as his reconnecting with them in his life now, would be a good idea , even if it is only trying.
As someone else posted, it's really none of my business.

It strikes home with me because my wife has an uncle that is quite parallel to Art's, as far as his personal life goes and it's quite sad. He has children all over and most he wouldn't send 20 bucks to put a fire on one of them out if they needed it. He is married to an Asian and may be kin to Art's wife. you never know. He is quite well off and could probably could do a better job at c2cam than George. He can talk about any subject and can drone on for hours on the phone without taking a breath. He is entertaining.  Anyway, that's my opinion for what it's worth.  (cha ching....two cents) :'(

Ohhhhhh Great!!! Ian. Right on Brother!!!  Right wing code so the Lefties won't understand (and me either), but I like that.  I also am from a part of the country (bible belt) where "hell fire" and "damnation" is yelled to the horizon. Actually from the more fundamental and judgemental people from the area would wonder why Ian, an ordained minister, would be a part of some of the discussions he is partaking in. It would be like a preacher getting out of church and going straight to a bar.  This is not my opinion , but an example of how he would be judged from this area.  Does this make any sense?

Oh God .LMAO!!! He Ha ha ha. I listen to Alex Jones when I'm sick of c2cam. I last about 5 minutes and he depresses me so much I need to find a pill pushing doc. I just go back to listening to c2cam. It medicates me just enough.

I want to live in a FEMA camp.  8)   NOT

Welcome, rbduck.  Ian is so well-prepared he has more to say than the author of the book.  Maybe he could give an hour of just him talking about the guest's subject and THEN let the guest on.

Anagrammy

Thanks for the welcome Anagrammy and sorry I changed my name on ya. Even if Ian innterrupts guests and callers I still like listening to him. At least he does either reads the guests entire book (no matter it's subject) or at least part of it and admits to it. GN sounds just plain Dunb. It's about what I would sound like doing it. ;D Duh!!! I don't know who books Ian's guests for him though. Whoever is doing it is not doing him any favors in my opinion. A lot of times I do just listen and begin to be interested after the interview starts.

I once tried to be an overachiever, but fell asleep.

Ditto. I would rather listen to Art's old shows 50 times over rather than hear GN. At least Art tried to keep different subjects rotating. GN talks about the same stuff over and over. Either he has not a creative bone in his body or people just don't want to be on his show. Not even Mel and his hole. Dang that's bad!!!

Was that an answer to my music question? Well, I love Classical Gas too , but it has no vocals at all. I'm just a music lover, that's all. I love it all. If it has a melody. Some things called music these days is not music at all.

"""""""""""""You ever notice that on a Friday night George usually wastes most of the show with guests? I don't know ... I always look forward to open lines ... and its like one day a week where I can unwind and listen to other people call in with their tales or information on subjects. Whether they are complete idiots or very intelligent ... its makes for great entertainment.

George seems to want to stray from the open lines ... now that I hear of callers being screened multiple times ... it all makes sense. George is not a spontaneous person and indeed does need to be scripted or spoon fed his material.""""""""""""""

I quoted a very old post here and not sure I've done it correctly and what I'm about to say may have already been said. If it has, I apologize. This is a sore point to me and the reason I'm saying it.

The reason for open lines on Friday night is because it's a Federal Law! Or at least an FCC regulation.
The FCC regulations state that on a talk show where the subject is chosen by the host or station it originates from.  One day per week the subject matter shall be controlled by the callers! So, it's not a suggestion for the host or guest not to control the subject matter on Friday night, it's freaking LAW!! Hear that George!!!
Okay, I've beat that dog to death. It's raod kill and stinks...

I know I'm new here and haven't read all ten thousand posts, but I like the way Ian prepares for all his shows , but he get's people on and want's to inject so many of his on knowledge and opinions he constantly interrupts people and cut them off to do so. He needs 5 more hours of program so his guests and callers can have enough time to finish a thought before he interrupts them.

This may have already been said, but I listen to Knapp programs before I ever listen to the other two. Gee, I don't think I've ever heard Richard Hoagland on a Knapp night. Probably a good move on Hoagland's part.
Talk about a runaway EGO.

What the hell is that he's saying at the end of every show? "and you too" What the hell is that? What is that deal anyway?
Yes, I'm in the south.

I once was a radio host at the worse station in a 4 station market. The station manager hated intros or ending sayings or songs at the end of the show. Therefore i hate them too. I know this is the Ian thread , but i cringe when George Noory intro's each show. Geez , make my skin crawl.
