Because of other career commitments, including work on her autobiography, Linda Moulton Howe will no longer be presenting her monthly reports on Coast to Coast AM. "Thank you," Linda wrote to George Noory, "for the monthly air time" (dating back to 2003 with George, and 1991 with Art Bell). "Those 28 years have been a privilege for me to broadcast my Earthfiles science, environment and Real X-Files news...Cheers to more light and truth everywhere!"

We thank Linda for her outstanding contributions to Coast over the years, and wish her the best in all future endeavors.

Sounds like DMDN might be done? I have no idea what this means.

Looks like we've found Art's "Stalker"...

I got an email notice from Live365 yesterday informing me of the royalty fee increases and how it would pretty much shut them down.  Took me about 30 seconds to wonder if this was also Art's stalker like you did..  I'm pretty certain he had to have an idea this was going to happen a couple months ago.

I didn't think he'd go 3 months without quitting this time. I was legitimately impressed. Thought we'd get the old "argh my back is too bad to use a mic" excuse but this was a fresh and intriguing Serial-esque turn.

I thought this time was going to be different and he'd go a couple years at least..  My reason was because he was so excited to be doing something "revolutionary" with MiTD via the streaming model.  It appeared he had started to achieve critical mass the past month from a business model especially in signing some larger OaT affiliates.

But, all good things must end so good bye Art and thanks for the good radio.

To me she seems like an entire different guest when interviewed by Art compared to Noory. I will admit I think she is boring when I heard her interviewed by Dave.

I think this was a very good show, glad I listened live.

I thought the exact same thing.  I wasn't much of fan of hers when she was on C2C, but really enjoyed her and Art last night.

I wrote this quick copypasta if anyone wants to use it, either Art for the AMA (you'll at least have to post a little bio and your "proof," the photo of you with the paper--mods will probably help you with this) or for anyone who wants to post on Facebook/blogs/Tumblr.

Wanna take a ride? Art Bell is returning to broadcasting with a new show, Midnight in the Desert, on July 20th on the Dark Matter Digital Network. MITD will broadcast free from the Monday through Friday from 9pm-midnight PST/midnight-3am EST. You can download the TuneIn radio app, listen online at ArtBell.com, or hear the show over the air in selected radio markets.

See ArtBell.com for more details and information about radio legend Art Bell’s return to the air, how you can sign up for a subscription membership and access archived shows on-demand, and to see a list of terrestrial radio stations carrying the show. From the high desert, in the great American Southwest...mark your calendars for July 20.

Excellent copy, great job!!

Art, Iis the live stream going to be 64kbps AAC?  Using AAC at that bitrate would make the music sound very good.  Looking forward to listening, subscribing and donating to the cause.

Great point...  I've been using Tune In for several years to listen to music.  The sound quality is exceptional in this format!

Art, I'm in for $5 a month and will also gladly hit the donate button as you ramp the business in the first 3-6 months.  I think you'll get to critical mass faster than you think.  When you first launch the Tune In application, you get a 20-30 second "commercial" of upcoming programming they have running.  I also get "push" messages to my smart phone and iPad reminding me of the start time of key sporting events that will soon be airing.  Be nice for them to do some of those pushes of your show  :)

I'm from San Antonio and as much as I would love to have an NFL team here, there is one reason why it will never happen. That reason is Jerry Jones. He knows San Antonio is a Dallas Cowboys town. He will do everything in his power to keep SA from getting a team.

You're spot on...  Jerry would never let that happen, San Antonio is huge Cowboy fan country.

I can write but not in any accomplished manner. Some things just defy explanation and how I do a talk show is one of them. It is kind of like I go into another place. I really can not explain. I rarely think of the number of people listening, I remember when I would go on a big new station in some big city, that would screw me up for a while as I thought about all those people but then I would move back into my comfort zone of the subject at hand and all those nerves just evaporated. Weird stuff.

Art

This is a state of mind that a lot of world class athletes will go to in major competitions.  You just get tunnel vision and are completely focused on the task at hand.  The crowd, TV crews and all of that are just blocked out when you enter that zone.  As you said Art, you're acutely aware when you're in that zone and everything you're doing comes so natural.

BTW I want to thank Bell Gabbers for the Baby Monitor idea which at first seemed like a joke but after serious technical investigation turned out to be a whale of a idea, it's such a captive group of concerned Parents. We will not overuse the "I need to be changed now sound" but you gotta get their attention!

                                BM Radio is coming!
Art, you provided me company many nights during night time feeds of our kids.  Bring on the MITD branded BM's!

Right on Art, I'm old enough to have listened to AM Top 40 in bed with a transistor radio.  Now I can hear thousands of stations in bed with a smartphone.  The future is here.

I agree..  Right now I'm reading BellGab and listening to a retro of American Too 40 from 3/19/77..  It's all about choice and the freedom the web gives us that terrestrial radio no longer offers.

I always pictured the studio resembling Vincent Price's cave in the Brady Bunch. Noory has been the unlucky Tiki of C2C.

ROFLMAO!!!!!

There is room for both Dave and myself and others as well. For the most part I WANT Dave to keep the listener's and callers he has now. I have heard his open lines, I don't want that. A smart show brings smart callers, we had that and given time we will again. If the show is not as big I am good with that, quality not just quantity.

Art

Well said Art...

After being away for 17 days on very sad family affairs, I return to over 200 pages of  this gloriously happy news!! I have no idea what the PMs have been, but what fun! "Jessica" by the Allman Bros has been running through my mind as perfect going-for-a-ride music! Cheers to all!!

Maureen, I hope things will work out positively for you and your family...

Yes! Gene-Gene the dancing machine and the unknown comic! This is why the tale of Chuck Barris being a deep CIA spy delights me to no end. I so want that to be true.

Face it, if you were the Soviets back then, how could you even consider Chuck to be a spy!  Perfect cover for him, absolutely brilliant cover  8)

That was wild! I remember the Gong Show and how crazy he was, so when Barris showed up with his claims, it blew my mind. Good times indeed. That was classic Art, the stuff you'd never dream up in a million years, true or false.

That show was a loveable train wreck!  Gene-Gene the dancing machine, unknown comic and the other cast of crazies  ;)

I have saved 4 LMH monthly interviews on my iPod...  When I'm dealing with insomnia, I will listen to one of them..  Seriously, I'm normally asleep within 15 minutes after that..  Don't know if it's her voice, or delivery, but it puts me to sleep ASAP!

Hi all you old lurkers and new members. I lurked for a long time before joining up, too. As mv says, post often. There's also a new member thread where you can introduce yourselves, if you'd like.

Enjoy the ride!

Thank you UC...  Just posted in that thread..

Hi Folks, I've been lurking on here several years..  Discovered Art back in the early-1990's and fell in love with his show.  It kept me company when my kids were babies and I was pulling all nighters with them!

Very excited for Art to return this coming July!
