Ha, thanks to your advice (HD antenna) I was also able to watch "The Leech Woman" last night. Fun movie and Svengoolie did a good job (sometimes I don't like him, especially when he shows a really good movie, like "The Uninvited" or early Universal movies) but last night he was pretty funny with his schtick about "stock footage" etc. And the movie was pretty good. Didn't listen to Knapp but know animal rights, horse issues, etc are a pet project for him, as I recall, so could be good show. Will listen later.

One of my favorite movies, ever, and a great soundtrack too, Stella by Starlight, I think?

I wasn't keen on the animal welfare show because any type of news about cruelty to animals gets right under my skin and doesn't leave me, but I listened in and it was a really, informative good show. I  have a lot more respect for the Humane Society now. It's gratifying to hear that there actually has been change in the way animals are being treated from the release of elephants from Ringling Brothers to the cage free hens, but there is still a lot of work to do. The wild horse segment, as always, made me so very sad for these beautiful creatures and retired racehorses and their companions. There has to be a better way.

I was vegetarian for years. I think it's time to go semi, at least, just my protest at the cattle ranchers who are destroying our national wildlife heritages for bucks.

ISIS officially claiming responsibility for the attack.

I don't know if they were or weren't behind this, or if this fuckwit was a sympathizer but wouldn't it make sense for ISIS to claim it, just from a PR point of view for bragging rights into how they infiltrated the US? They're getting pounded left and right, just killed a lot of members they accused of spying because of the accuracy of drone strikes taking out their leaders. What better way to impress the faithful than to claim a terrorism attack on the enemy? No one's going to question them too closely.

It'll be interesting to see how the media plays this once the initial shock wears off; radical Islam or homophobic?

The two are not mutually exclusive, it's a twofer.

The UK had over two decades of indescriminate bombings from the PIRA. It sounds glib, but most of us didn't really worry about it. We just carried on and went about our business. What thoroughly pissed off a lot here, was Dubya behaving as if he'd just discovered fire when he spoke of trrrism. He hadn't. He discovered it came in several flavours; and his fellow countrymen and women who helped fund the PIRA, who were the same mould as the Saudi Princes who  funded Al Queda, were never compared. Funny that.

A congressman from Long Island, Peter King, is very outspoken in his anti-Muslim sentiment which would be unremarkable, given the current climate, except that he was also very outspoken in his support for the provos and for Gerry Adams, whom he likened to George Washington. Apparently, he was unconcerned over who died in those bombings because they were 'over there' and probably deserved it, given the struggle for Irish independence. I was going to add that I don't know how many police officers are Irish and members of the AoH, but I don't lose sleep over them as potential terrorists.

Life is actually less horrifying now than it was in the past.  For a long time, life was brutal and short.  It's brutal and short in other parts of the world even now.  I think our expectations were raised unrealistically by TV shows such as "Leave it to Beaver" and the devil-may-care attitude inspired by freely available porn on your cell phone.

Yes, actually in the grand scheme of things globally, you are right. I think the issue is with sudden, random acts of violence which there is no denying, has escalated in the US over the past couple of decades. But then again, random acts of violence were a daily concern for part of our population until relatively recently. I still don't like herding little kids into a corner and reading stories to them, knowing damned well some of them, usually the quiet or crying ones, know exactly what it's about.

Yeah, they know how to "keep us safe".  ::)

I don't realistically think anything or anyone can 'keep us safe'. We live in different times. We used to 'duck and cover' for the event of a nuclear attack. Now even 4 and 5 year old children have lockdown drills in case a maniac enters the school. I can't even scoff it off as a remote possibility, because it really is not. Living in NYC after 9/11 taught the lesson that life goes on and you have to live your life not allowing terrorists or other whackos to rule it, or else they win and then we're really screwed.

No matter who, no matter why, this is horrifying.

Art should not give up on "The Donald" so easily.  There's supposed to be a Trump speech dealing with Hillary Clinton on Monday. Jerome Corsi was talking with sNoory last Friday for a few moments. Corsi said he sent an advance copy of his August release book to Trump's people to peruse. The book allegedly goes into the borderline criminality and money-grubbing activities of the Clinton Foundation. Corsi expects a large part of the book, 'Partners in Crime,' will be used in Trump's speech.

Jerome Corsi has made a career out of books alleging misconduct and other infractions against leading Democrats. I would expect nothing less from him. Fact checkers usually find his "facts" questionable, if not outright false, but that doesn't stop him from publishing or others from believing him, including sNoory. I would expect nothing less from that political savant, either.  ;)

Corsi has been predicting nuclear holocaust and economic collapse since forever. As far as accuracy in predictions, he's up there with Ed Dames.

unwaxed. No, not that. But floss. But after tonight I decide to look up (bad mistake) maybe the wax kind is bad? I always hated the unwaxed cause tough to get in and breaks easily (and likely worse to use en masse as an escape tool) but now? I wonder also, wtf, putting "wax" inside our teeth? Maybe that is a part of the dentistry conspiracy?  ;) One website even says the "wax" is Teflon (sorry DuPont, don't remember how to make the trademark.)

I was wondering where this was  headed until I read the "floss" part and drew a giant sigh of relief.  :P

I agree about the waxed vs unwaxed. It all seems so much like a discussion on some hipster site about mustaches. Of course, for Our Hero, that would be shoe polished vs unshoe polished.

As for floss, I stand shoulder to shoulder with the users of waxed.

I got an Acer too, about a year and a half ago or so. It was the only one available with Win 7. Imagine  my surprise when not only did I have to dodge Win 8, but Win 10 as well. I don't think my complaint to the FTC will amount to a hill of beans,  but it felt good filing it. I don't  have money or recourse to legal counsel, but I'd love to see MS get hit with a class action suit just for the annoyance factor.

Comes home?  To St. Louis?  Technically, the Detroit area should be his hometown, as his birthplace and where he grew up.  I thought he made regular trips back and forth between St. Louis and LA, anyway, to do things such as check on the beloved dog he gave away.  ::)

Leave to it to Jorch to decide  where his hometown is going to be, based upon self-serving promotion.  Home is where the bucks are at the moment.

I'd much rather pay for 'George Noory Nukes a Pizza Roll.

Maybe one of his Army can needlepoint 'Home is where the Buck is' on a pizza roll shaped cushion and present it to him at the festivities.

Or, 'There's One Born Every Minute' . ;)

For all the "fun" of crazy callers and guests one does have to wonder how much shows like C2C (and others) and the internet facilitate some dangerous things in unstable people. And, as that article I posted, pose some interesting questions for the medical establishment and society since, as we've seen recently, physical facts, like gender- and even race, are simply "self-identification" issues so why wouldn't mass insanity, at least in a large enough self-reinforcing, group, by likewise-logic protected in their belief? I know, I know slippery slope is not a valid argument but, maybe, it is?

I knew someone who had a very reputable military career who went off the rails several years ago, claiming hearses were being sent to intimidate him, that men were carrying devices in their pockets to track him and so on. The last time I met him, he scared me because the level of paranoia was high enough that he could easily have been triggered to an incident. From what lucid things  he said,  his paranoid schizophrenia found like minded individuals where else, but on the internet, especially the Alex Jones-like conspiracy sites and channels. I don't believe in shutting them down, but I too would like to see what kind of influence these sources have on mass insanity, which I believe exists. This particular guy was brilliant, if off the wall. It's sad what he's become.

The site also has an article from someone who was in the Illuminati and is going to tell all. I'll take a pass.

The one thing that would make me consider an intelligence behind the universe, not an Old Testament God, but an intelligence, would be higher order math, golden ratios, Fibonacci sequence everywhere, Planck's constant but not statistics and probability, that's just whack .  :P

I sorta look at it like "Well shit, this guy's an asshole." I couldn't count all the times sNoory opened his gob and platitudes about free speech fell out, but when FF was the slightest bit critical of him, he went ape shit with the intimidation, threats and guess what? it worked, which is probably why he thought he could try it here, but no, we have MV and Noory made the mistake of threatening him. Big mistake.

I don't know if this is still truly considered The Art Bell Fan Forum and I sort of don't care. To me, it will always be georgenoorysucks.com, an oasis of happiness in a desert of shady  moves on other forums.

I'm looking at the C2C website. Is World News Daily's editor Art Moore the host tonight? Ol' Jorch is really showing his hand now. The guest Haney has been making the rounds of the usual sites like WND with his tale about being shut down from investigating jihadists.

Norry is not a free thinker, or a deep thinker by any means. It's amusing how  he has these thinly disguised creationists on, but not so amusing when you remember they are trying, school board by school board, to set the science standards in classrooms, and bring us all back before the Scopes trial. He is a lapsed Catholic, spouting off  how spiritual he is, but the Catholic church and most major denominations teach evolution, because the scientific evidence is there.

It's only the whackadoos who think the earth is 6,000 years old and that Mary road a dinosaur to Bethlehem who disagree, and Jorch sides with them every time, because I think he's afraid of really questioning his long held beliefs. But it's also evidence of a deeply held bias against science and an upholding of irrationality that thinkers like Carl Sagan would find alarming, when he's able to spread antivaxxer propaganda, quack medicine and all sorts of anti scientific platforms to lord knows how many gullible listeners. I don't know whether he believes this crap or not, but I find him a curious, fear driven, superficial thinker who has a show and access to the best guests and reduces it to face palm worthy, Hallmark card Sunday school platitudes that he ought to have outgrown 5 decades ago.

Before anyone asks why I listen, I don't listen to this twaddle. I listen for the guests who have something interesting to say and I sort of tune the host out.

Just curious. What is evolution's explanation for mosquitos?

Who knows? They don't really have a purpose, I was being facetious. They have their origins in early insects that thrived on animal blood, as larger animals evolved. They just are, and as a result, they are part of aquatic and other animal and bird food chains. But creationism puts a purpose on everything, so why did God create them, then? Presumably Noah took two of them on his ark along with everything else.
