Live in CA. A lot of older houses in Sacramento have basements. He’s certainly rockin the Yorkshire hairstyle. 🤔

Looks like Sonny Bono's taller brother.

This little dude's career is over before it even began. Well that or he is earmarked for great things in the National People's Congress

Not all Brits are Pudofiling douchbags. Allen will be due for a lifetime achievement award from Hollywood next year.

"The United Nations has allowed sexual harassment and assault to flourish in its offices around the world, with accusers ignored and perpetrators free to act with impunity, the Guardian has been told."

LANSING, Mich. â€" Former gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar has been sentenced to 40 to 175 years in prison on multiple counts.

One of the first athletes to accuse Larry Nassar of sexual assault confronted him Wednesday in a Michigan courtroom where the former sports doctor was due to the sentenced for years of molesting Olympic gymnasts and other young women.

The last of more than 150 victims to offer statements at Nassar’s sentencing hearing was a Kentucky lawyer who stepped forward in 2016 after USA Gymnastics was accused of mishandling complaints of sexual assault.

Rachael Denhollander said Nassar groped, fondled and penetrated her with his hands when she was a 15-year-old gymnast in Michigan. Denhollander’s statements to Michigan State University police put the criminal investigation in high gear in 2016.

“You have become a man ruled by selfish and perverted desires,” she told Nassar, who worked at the university and USA Gymnastics, the sport’s governing body, which also trains Olympians.

Nassar faces a minimum prison term of 25 to 40 years when he is sentenced later Wednesday by Judge Rosemarie Aquilina.

The sentence will cap a remarkable seven-day hearing that has given the girls, young women and their parents a chance to confront the doctor in court.

Nassar, 54, pleaded guilty to assaulting seven people in the Lansing area, but the sentencing hearing has been open to anyone who said they were a victim. His accusers said he would use his ungloved hands to penetrate them, often without explanation, while they were on a table seeking help for various injuries.

The accusers, many of whom were children, said they trusted Nassar to care for them properly, were in denial about what was happening or were afraid to speak up. He sometimes used a sheet or his body to block the view of any parent in the room.

“I’d been told during my entire gymnastics career to not question authority,” a former elite gymnast, Isabell Hutchins, said Tuesday.

The judge is likely to be unsparing in her treatment of Nassar. Aquilina has praised the victims who have appeared in her court since Jan. 16, calling them “sister survivors,” while also assuring them that their perpetrator will pay. The women have included Olympians Aly Raisman, Jordyn Wieber and McKayla Maroney.

“Your words are vital. They are as strong as your martial arts,” Aquilina told Christina Barba, who has known Nassar for decades and practices karate. “They will take him down quicker and cleaner than any kick you’ve got.”

Hutchins and Mattie Larson, a former national gymnast, talked about how Nassar won their allegiance with candy, Olympic trinkets and encouraging words while they were under constant scrutiny from their demanding coaches.

Brooke Hylek, a gymnast who plans to compete in college, heaped scorn on Nassar.

“I cannot believe I ever trusted you, and I will never forgive you,” she said Tuesday. “I’m happy you will be spending the rest of your life in prison. Enjoy hell by the way.”

Emily Morales had a softer message.

“I want you to apologize to me right here,” the 18-year-old told Nassar. “I want to forgive you, but I also want to hear you tell me that you regret all the hurting you caused.”

He did. She replied with, “Thank you.”

Nassar has already been sentenced to 60 years in federal prison for child pornography crimes. He is scheduled to be sentenced next week on more assault convictions in Eaton County, Michigan.

I think of all the physicals I had as a child, and being an adult now it makes NO sense to me that my mother wasn't in the room!  She drove me there!  Why would anyone parent leave a naked girl or even young woman behind closed doors with a male!  What harm would it do for her simply to stand by.  I came into the world out of her vagina, but our society doesn't want her to see my annual physical?

The USA gymnastics doctor got away with it because he used a sheet to block parental visibility.  Usually, the odds of a man being subhuman are small.  However, the stakes are high!  Pregnancy, venereal disease, violation, mutilation. So whenever the stakes are high, people should take care.  Kind of like the odds of a crime are small, but we nonetheless lock our doors...just to be on the safe side against potential burglary, kidnapping, contamination, destruction, identity theft, home invasion, and violence.

Having a nurse stand is often recommended, but a nurse is not enough, especially in the case of children.  It doesn't guarantee abuse won't happen, because the nurse is subservient to the doctor.

Once, I went to a new clinic to have a sore on my abdomen checked.  I requested a female nurse to be with me in the exam room, as I had never been to that clinic before and was not impressed with my waiting room experience.  Sure enough, the doctor was a sleazeball who made up a plausible-sounding reason why he wanted to do a breast exam.  I said no, and he got angry, right there even with the nurse in the room.  The nurse didn't stop him as he started to go to far.  I stopped him.

Get this!  Then he starts to pack it up, and I say, "Uh, hello??  How about the reason I am here?"  He didn't want to do his job, but I made him attend to my wound.

I unloaded loudly on him later in the lobby.  "Can't go there anymore..."

I didn't know how to file a complaint, and had recently had a very unsatisfying experience attempting to complain about my regular doctor.  I was working full time and had a second job and three animals plus I had just gotten over pneumonia and a broken foot, so I just didn't have it in me to take time to nail that doctor.

But about a year later, I saw in the newspaper a doctor at that clinic (probably him) got in trouble, like credentials taken away, for molesting female patients.  I was sorry he had pulled crap on other women, but it was a real perk in my day to hear of his demise.

This Larry Nassar guy admitted that he targeted at least seven victims, and it sounds like he abused each girl for years.

This reminds me of a true crime book from the eighties called The Rape of the Town of Lovell.  A doctor put the sheet up to block patients from seeing his body, and proceeded to vaginally rape them without condoms.  The women tried to tell their husbands, but the women's tone lacked confidence and their husbands didn't believe them.  One woman told her husband that her pelvic exams felt exactly like sex.  He didn't believe her.  I wonder if the doctor thought some of the women secretly knew and liked it?  But they didn't.  The criminal, the doctor, had a huge (you-know-what), which makes it even more surprising that he got away with it.  Because it had to hurt some of the ladies.  And his receptionist knew he spent too much time with patients.  He also delivered their babies.  In order to reduce potential suspicion, he deliberately delivered some babies early so their birth would not indicate conception around the time of the ladies' annual physical.  So he risked babies lives by taking them out early.  And he did it by unnecessary cesarian.  I think he abused whole sets of females in families, and pretty much all the females in town.

Nassar is a Middle-Eastern name, isn't it?  Wasn't that the name of one of Egypt's leaders?  They sure like them young.  Glad to know he is locked up.

All of those (NYT, Wash Post and LA Times) put a cookie on your device/computer.

On my iphone the easiest way to delete them is to delete all website data for Safari or clearcache for chrome. That resets the counters.

Clearcache?  I can do that.  Thanks for the tip, Grav.

On my phone, checking these boxes works for me.

I don't want to clear the cookies on my pc.  I keep all my passwords for financial matters stored on the pc and it is a bitch if I forget one.  Thanks anyway.

I see a saved passwords on your app but I don't think Google chrome makes the distinction.

Ok. On my phone I can select individual cookies to delete in safari and the names are cryptic but recognizable. I don’t know where they are located on the pc.

Just use the incognito thing, that's what I do when I want to look at a site that limits your free articles.

Good idea. I seldom use chrome on my phone so I hadn’t tried that.

See. That’s why we keep you around!
