It's a shame it was Snorge interviewing Michael Heiser last night. He's obviously one of the smarter of the repeat guests on the show. The fact that he tries to debunk the Ancient Aliens spank talk, while Snorge does his usual five index card questions of doom speel just to pimp a book or two seems such an unfulfilling endeavor.

The fact that he tries to debunk the Ancient Aliens spank talk, while Snorge does his usual five index card questions of doom speel just to pimp a book or two seems such an unfulfilling endeavor.

Heiser had me when, in response to an assertive caller, he said "was there a question there.....I'm not an astronomer, so I cannot evaluate an astronomical conspiracy." (Caller had some theory that we don't find things out using Kepler but from secret spacecraft we have out there exploring the galaxy but are keeping the program hidden.)

He also shut down George with his inane comments about "all religions, uh, you know Christian, Hebrew, and others are all the same." Heiser "well in ethics, you know how we treat each other and ourselves, they are similarities and some differences. With regard to doctrine, making law and truth statements, there are many differences- even blunt differences." George, "of course," quickly moved on.

Mike is one of a handful of people who apply actual scientific method to UFOlogy. Apart from that he is a biblical scholar and always has interesting things to say about the ancient world and one can be sure he knows what he talks about.

He was also the guest of the first C2C show I ever listened. Back then I didn't know that Art Bell existed at all and it was Noory and angels and portals. That's why I'm sentimental about Mike Heiser, I even read his novel The Facade which proved to be quite nice.

Excellent stuff, it's long but every minute devoted is time well spent. Since I watched it it's been much easier to dig through all the nonsense hucksters usually introduce by beginning their sentences with "Gnostic writings say..."

Always like Heiser. His take down of Ancient Aliens is priceless. One of the few people who actually knows his shit about ancient cultures. He wanted to debate Sitchen but Sitchen probably knew he made all his shit up and would get owned by a real historian/linguistics expert.

One thing I liked about Ian was that he was fairly educated in the subjects and, especially towards the end of his C2C hosting, would easily tear up a caller or guest who made all kinds of wild claims about the Bible, etc, especially if Ian thought they were just trying to make a buck or were crazy/offensive.
