You mean, even the presence of your cherubic self wasn't enough to lighten the mood?

I know, right?  I even told a few Castro jokes and nothing.

Oh, you'll never be in Trump's favour now..EVERYTHING that is wrong is down to previous presidents,

21 TRILLION$$$ worth of debt...yes...

Quotehe said so at the inauguration speech..I think he used 'mess' and carnage'..He's even gone on record as saying anything that doesn't get done won't be his fault.

Given how tirelessly he works, eminently logical.

QuoteI think if Homer Simpson was elected as either party's candidate, the standing of the office would rise significantly..

A cartoon candidate for a cartoon leftard - such ghastly symmetry!

Gotta be careful there, Raul is peevish since  his short succession tenure closed on him...

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/latino/miguel-d-az-canel-becomes-cuba-s-president-ra-l-n867021

The transition is an effort to guarantee that younger leaders like Díaz-Canel â€" who has served as Cuba's first vice president since 2013 and turns 58 on Friday â€" can maintain the power of the Communist-run government put in place by the party's now octogenarian founders.

Among Díaz-Canel's immediate challenges are Cuba's economic stagnation and a younger generation's disenchantment with its limited opportunities.

Raúl Castro served two five-year terms as president, succeeding his brother in 2006 after Fidel fell ill and transferred power to Raúl. (Fidel died in 2016.)

Analysts debate how much power Díaz-Canel can wield as president with Raúl Castro still at the helm of the Communist Party.

Oh yes, wasn't Shreddi just yesterday telling us how much better things are when the younger generation in these shitholes come to power?  No doubt Díaz-Canel is a Democrat who kept that from the Castro regime all these years, and will return Cuba to an island paradise (as opposed to the worker' paradise it is currently).

As far as his 'immediate challenge', it's to keep the country in the vise grip of the Party.  No more, no less.

Not even some cool, old American cars? Cigars? Neat old buildings? Not that I would suggest I've the so-called 'sex tourism' is popular there. Poor people under a commie system, 'helps' this as usual.

Maybe check-out a baseball game? They good at that and maybe you can find a prospect!

I spent today touring Havana, Cuba and I honestly can’t remember a more depressing travel experience.  Havana Harbor is filthy and oil slicked with very few ships and no pleasure craft. Many of the buildings in the city are literally crumbling yet are still occupied.   Commercial areas are lifeless having only the  meagerest of signage and display.  The only buildings that appear to be regularly maintained are government buildings, hotels and colocated touristy businesses owned by the government.  There were many working age people walking the streets or just hanging out during what is normal business hours in Latin America. There are few smiles and an amazingly consistent dourness of expression.  The depravation was palpable and my wife and I are bummed for experience.

Your experience was considerably different from Pud's.  If I remember correctly, he was quite impressed, especially with the education, healthcare, etc - you know, all the features the Left-wing Castro supporters always bring up.

I'm sure he liked the idea the population is disarmed as well.

OK, Flora. You probably bought a copy of Moby Dick because you thought it was gay porn.

OK, that was pretty funny. :)

Zoo animals are fed and get good medical care too but their choices in life and opportunity for betterment are extremely limited. Anyone who sees Cuba as a paraíso de los trabajadores es una idiota.

Sure, now after the ship has sailed you tell me about the sex tourism thing.  (Okay, there’s no double entendre in that statement.  My sole meaning is that the Norwegian Sun has left the Port of Havana.)

On a brighter note, I believe I did see every model of American automobile I owned in the sixties starting with a 1956 Chevy Bell Air.  I actually bought it off a girl who was a little older than I who was entering the convent.  (Don’t read anything into that statement either.)

Shit, weed too?  All I got was a free Cohiba.  As a matter of fact the young mujer who was our tour guide did mention that medical marijuana was readily available and free under their health care system and that the government is favorably disposed towards legalizing its recreational use and is expected to enact legislation very soon.

It's remarkable and notable how neatly this thread wraps up after the known bad actors are filtered out. I can knock off and go to lunch early today.

I'm gonna need a rating here on a scale of one to ten, with one being "San Diego" and 10 being "the sweet kiss of sweet Baby Jesus." Ask around, Fucko--I know you know someone, and I have a right to know. I hope you enjoy the cigar.

Article is splitting hairs a bit I think, and I've heard Canadians lay claim to the burning of the White House. Personally I thought it was a funny remark by Trump.

Isn't it well-known that Canada consists, in the majority, of subjects loyal to The Crown? Of course they burned down the White House. Duh. Who else would have? Fuckin' Greenlanders? Maybe an amphibious assault from Iceland? Get fucking real.

I don't know what they're teaching in school these days, but it sure isn't what they taught in my home dimension's 7th grade U.S. History class. I wish Mr. Daley were here, he'd beat the shit out of every last one of you revisionists.

Fuckin’ A.  The country was not founded by gays, lesbians and people yearning for access to sex change surgery as asserted by the current crop of academics.

You're like a cock crowing on a dunghill. You're very pleased with yourself, but everybody else just sees a cunt standing on a mound of shit.

Feel free to post walls of text and links that nobody reads. It gives you an outlet at least. I presume you're housebound with little else to occupy you.

I've heard VD, lice, and body-odor, not to cast aspersions on our Founding Fathers, as to why, originally, the whole wig deal started. Then became fashion/tradition that still exists to an extent in places like Commonwealth Nation courts and our judges still wear robes.  As for the lace? Who knows?  What goes on in the cloakroom, stays in the cloakroom.

Nobody here worships Trump and his name probably wouldn’t appear on most of our Christmas card lists.  We appreciate his energy in doing what he was hired to do and most of all his tenacity in standing up to the coordinated assault on his Presidency by chapped-ass shit birds like you.
