Flu Pandemic Finally Arrives to Destroy Civilization and C2CAM 1st Hour is ...

You are right, Fry's Girl, that the kind of pollution you mention is the "biggie" - but there is also one (related to gender issues for one thing) and that's medical waste.

What happens to those birth control pills? You eventually pee out the hormones and they go into the water treatment plant.  They don't all get filtered out. Same with hormone replacement for older women.

I take synthetic thyroid hormones as I have no thyroid gland (it went nuts and they had to nuke it) at one time - I took animal derived thyroid hormones (Made by Armor - that's right - it was a Bologna by-product!) Thyroid is a "master hormone."  Thyroid levels impact all other hormone production in the body, whether the source is natural or synthetic.   This is true for both humans and other animals.  Now, where do you think the contents of those lavender pills I pop every morning go when my body is done with them?  And, what can I do about it?  (answer: as things stand, not a whole heck of a lot!)

ANY medication you take, or toss for that matter (since most people flush unused and unneeded pills down the toilet) will, at lest in part, end up back in our water supply.  SOME of the most common:  SSRIs, SNRIs, blood pressure meds, antibiotics, cholesterol medication, naproxin, phenylephrine, pseudoephedrine and benzodiazapines.

"But" you may wonder - I know I did - "doesnt the body USE them?"  Well, yes - and no.  How a body metabolizes these drugs is so individual that there is, as yet, no way to give an "exact dose" that will be compely used up and not excreeted.  Even if ther were, by-products woud still be excreted.

Wile only miniscule ammounts end up in our drinking water (when all is working as it should) it has to go SOMEWHERE.  That somewhere is often our rivers, or lakes, and our groundwater.

So I feel bad about my contribution to this form of polution?  Yes.  Am i going to stop taking the pills? HELL NO!  Symptons of low thyroid (and remember in my case we are taling NO thyroid) include:

fatigue, loss of energy, weight gain, difficulty losing weight, depression, dry skin, brittle nails, brittle hair, itchy scalp, hair loss, cold intolerance, constipation, puffy eyes and face, tingling in the wrist and hands, elevated LDL cholesterol, memory loss, fuzzy thinking, loss of sex drive, slowness of speech, hoarseness, muscle and joint pain, headaches and ultimatly coma and death.

It is an animal derived product  pocine as I took it as well because it has the correct levels of t3 & t4 but you could smell & it is Armour the manufacturer is Forest Pharmaceuticals not Armor processed food products, but it does smell like it a little. I think  there is one made from sea weed now that I would like to try since Synthroid & levothyroxine (sp) have never been subject to any FDA testing they were just grandfathered in. What strength is the lavender ones mine are yellow and 100mc & 1 50mcg blue one but I don't think its enough I know how you feel (well not really part of mine still works but was radiated too.)

Frys Girl

EvB, as usual, you filled in the important gaps. The meds are a major reason. It's not just bleach and shampoo! Pesticides are awful, but I don't even want to think what the Viagra and prozac do. I want to move to Mars!

We all forget that we all live downstream and what affects one may soon effect all.

I am lucky that my water comes from a trapped underground glacier spring with no farms around it not sure how much surface contamination is if any but it gets tested once a moth and has always been clean.

Next best thing to leaving Earth.

Has anyone seen Wall-e?

I take just a tad more than you - they are 175 mcg.  When did you get nuked?  It takes a while for the whole thing to die off. Quite a while in fact.  I think it's been over 5 years for me.

A long time ago well over 5 years I need to have it checked again as I am always cold as you know just always. Been thinking about trying the homeopathic route but the things you described when you don't generate enough or any is what I am trying to stay away from too. I wonder if stem cells injected will help those now with the disease? Yes, the master hormone is for sure what it is I hope no one else has to suffer with it even though there are worse things it sucks.

EvB

I would not go the homeopathic route for this myself.  Any treatment that presumes that our body can and will create it's own solution is likely to be frustrated by the lack of resources (ie: little or not glandular material) It's a stretch, but think of it like a woman using homeopathy to increase ovulation when, in fact, her ovaries have been removed or perhaps (as in some cases) only a small bit of one remains to help with hormone balance.

If you are having symptoms - do get checked (and yeah - I'm a great one to talk!) but that bone-deep cold that WILL NOT go away is one of my least favorite symptoms.

I am just more into natural things if I can do them, I think homeopathy works for some things as acupuncture works for some things. Like when I broke my femur, tibula, and crushed my patella I doubt at that time homeopathy or anything other than main stream medicine would have been a good choice. I did better on Armour but Synthroid is trying to run them out of the market and like I said synthroid has never been tested by the FDA.

I switched from Armor becuase one of the T (3 or 4 - don't recall which) was harder to control - but that was during my thyroid "death" -- I may revisit that.

I do use homeopathy.  I also use acupuncture.  My opinion was just that - a totally non-medical opinion. If you do try homeopathy in this case - I'd be interested to know how that works out for you.

I should have said alternative as well as homeopathy, I do better with the t3 & t4 but it is harder for Dr's to control and they don't want to look at those numbers. A lot of them are like Noory and just believe everything the pharm rep says. I will let you know if I find anything out, thanks.
