Happy Solstice/Yule/Christmas- to you, too StarM and all the rest of our vaguely lovable Bellgabbers.

Nice to see you all joining in on the holiday spirit. I always look forward to the music and stories you share with us.

TW- Nice artwork! I like mixed media projects- so many ways to combine techniques and materials. I hope to see more.

This is Sparta Bellgab! I try to keep politics out of this thread, but I will make this one exception because I am tired of the PC/NPC hypocrites making everything ugly and hateful.

Baby It's Cold Outside was from the 1940s and reflected the times.

The song was performed reversing the roles, too. This video has both.

Solstice is almost here and I hope you all have plans to celebrate the season in some pleasant manner with loved ones and good friends.

This year Solstice will include a full moon called the Cold Moon, the Long Night Moon, or the Moon Before Yule and the Ursid meteor shower that will peak on the nights of December 21 and 22, adding shooting starts to the mix.  The next Solstice full moon will be in 2094- so be sure to enjoy this year's celestial event.

A simple ritual to welcome the sun's return is to light a candle and recite some prayer or affirmation.

As the wheel turns, light returns.
The light of the sun has returned to us,
bringing life and warmth with it.
The shadows will vanish, and life will continue.
We are blessed by the light of the sun.

The Nisse (he is big though!) and the goat brought back some memories of some weird interwebs of this crazy Norskie swilling vodka (why not akavit?) and skating around and doing other stunts. Here is one of several...

We all need a little help this time of year- from a bottle or glass.

For some reason, they want you to click to the Youtube link to view - it's worth it!

Ha. On the second should've been those weird brandy with the plum in the bottle (somehow.)

In Scandinavia there is another winter tradition of the Christmas Goat, Julebukk.  Children go sort of trick or treating. Folks dress up in costumes, sometimes quite scary ones.  Other countries also have the goat motif during this time. Maybe related to the legend of the God's "wild hunt?"

Cool shot, PW.  Much, much better than the psychotic stuff Tootsie Troll was trying to bury Liberace's hallowed grounds with, when she was in a manic attack awhile back.

Happy Yule, IO! I like those vintage pictures when i come across them.

It seems that I miss all the good/funny action around here lately. Tootsie having her way with Liberace's hollowed out what? I hope his 'essence' wasn't abused and discarded by a thoughtless, selfish woman! Poor Lee, the things he endures for the ladies.

From the look on his face, I kinda wonder what is going on outside the shot.

Hey Brig, thanks for your contribution, a fine and dandy one at that, but in the interest of diversity, balancing out the universe, blah, blah, blah...

Here's a Yuletide suppository for that.

I'm sure it was something "wholesome" and "family-like," knowing Liberace like we do.  ;)

It just is not festive without our dear Lee.
