Dave had a boring exorcist on. There were a few good callers. One guy who knew a lot of details about the people involved in the 'real' case the movie was based on. And a lady who had some interesting stories and concerns about her daughter and her friends and that kids do 'seances' in school, mysterious medallion of St.Benedict* appearing after the girls played with a Ouija Board and mom discovered the situation and said prayers.

The second guest, splitch-show format was another 'healer' who makes wooden eggs with lights, 'sacred geometry,' and crystals to heal ailments- though she can't, legally, say that.

* the location of his cave and the subsequent monastery, abbey, frescoes, and the mountains in general is awesome. Get out of the pickpocketing Gypsies, traffic, and dirt of Rome and go to Subiaco. Cooler temps there also.

I suspect there is more to this story. The reporting is weird and uses vague terms "knew pretty well" and is the Biblical "knew?" Why why is this questionable type visiting a neighborhood that looks decent, early in the morning, when the husband isn't home? And then lays in wait, like African beasts of old, to pounce and attack viciously? And the surviving wife's family seem quickly to want take custody of the kids. Even though wife "victim" is still alive. All strange.

Many of them seem to hate Asians and any old people or women also. Some attacks seem random, others seem attempts to robberies but also want to get in extra violence.

Quote from: WOTR on September 25, 2022, 11:26:27 PMI was surprised to see when the ever forward ran aground that there is such a thing as declaring a general average that suddenly makes the cargo owners partially responsible for the costs incurred because the captain of a ship is drunk or stupid...

"Common average is a principle of maritime law that requires shipowners and shippers to share equitably in the costs involved in rescuing a ship following a major accident. When General Average is claimed, owners of goods are required to contribute to a General Average fund before their cargo can be delivered."

Basically, if the ship is valued at 50 million and the cargo at 50 million, then the ship owner and the cargo owner would each contribute 50% of all costs to rescue the ship (simplified.) It just blows my mind that I could import a container of cargo and be responsible for a share of tug boats, dredging equipment, and divers.
Not everything is a fraud or scam but the system is designed to hedge against losses and spread them out over many parties and institutions. And when things happened at sea it is hard to determine 'what happened.' So since, usually, there is no major loss for one party, it might be hard to determine what happened, the cargo might be time sensitive or $, and legal costs get $$$ due to the various laws, treaties, and parties involved- so cheaper to settle even when suspicious.

A simple way to think about it (it is not simple at all but) is like with CC companies and banks. There is little incentive to 'find out' who stole your card, it doesn't cost you (you will be reimbursed,) it doesn't cost the bank much (versus hiring investigators, getting evidence) so they write off the loss or pass it down to the general consumer. So unlike a massive hack or huge amount of money or something jeopardizing the whole CC system- they just shrug and say 'ok, I will take off that charge.) They is acceptable level of 'shrinkage' and 'fraud.' But because shipping handles almost all our goods, food, and fuel the numbers are huge so the acceptable losses or shrinking are much higher. Plus they don't want to impact the system if massive levels of corruption or fraud became known.

Haven't finished book but great, and interesting, read.

Totally derailing thread. But 'that's the guy!' And once finally awarded and recognized he was too old to have 'anyone to gloat over' because his critics were dead. Spokane Historical Society actually has a good app, if you ever visit the Inland Empire and areas. Quote from: Dr. MD MD on September 25, 2022, 02:35:15 PMInteresting that the intersection between the two is the middle or working class. Poor people pay little to no income tax. Rich people can afford to hire the best lawyers and accounts to figure out how to pay as little tax as possible. The middle class keep the whole engine going.

The middle-class is hated by the leftists, socialists, and communists because they see they as holding back revolution, social changes, Christian values, not liking crime, etc. They are not liked by the uber-rich because there is a chance of them competing and even gaining as much money (hence the 'new money') or having a bit more spare time or education that they might read or learn about 'their betters' and the system(s) created to keep the social economic order stable. Or demand reforms or vote. So a squeezed from both sides of the radical political spectrum.

Quote from: Corona Kitty on September 25, 2022, 02:00:27 PMIndeed, that was one of those crazy and bizarre interviews that I enjoy immensely. What you don't know is... she's dead now.

The crazy thing is she predicted a date when everyone would be toast. Ironically, the date she gave out ended up being the date, when she would ultimately pass.

Some say it was a suicide, some say she was actually murdered.

That is sad. Who knows? Sometimes out of concerns for the family police or coroner will deem accidental or misadventure. And there are certainly many cases of suicide. Or maybe she was targeted But herself predicted date leads me to think not. I recall folks had theories after death of Tracy Twyman and the murder-suicide-dogkilling situation with the 911 guy Philip Marshall (I think he, or JWB comments about him, helped end JBW C2C career-in addition to having higher ratings than Dave.)

Deserved accolades. "Hire the Joo I said" for his defense and pats him as he smokes at the famous Joo lawyer. Also the subtle things like these super rich needs masks, ear plugs, n such to sleep in their satin sheets! The movie is awesome. My references are not to taken to be accurate, of movie or cases, or personal views.

Obama gave them back when asked like an adult, did not stomp around in a tantrum saying they're mine.  Which is the only explanation that has surfaced so far as to why Trumpykins had them and is plainly wrong.

Let me try to explain it another way:  I am an American citizen.  I was his boss.  I fired him.  He threw a fit, skipped the exit interview, and now I find out he has proprietary information that belongs to me, to the new boss I hired.  And has never bothered to explain why.  Fork it over dude.

And yet you chuckleheads leap to his defense and are not even curious.  If it were anyone else you'd recognize he's just being a dickwad, makes me laugh, you are all besotted 🧡

Why did he have them, doc? After a year of requests, and a subpoena?

Lots of reports of Chinese military units on the move but that would be perfectly normal for this time of year. October 1st is China National Day where they put on that big parade in Beijing. Initially the stuff I was seeing about a coup was from the usual Anti-CCP outlets - Jennifer Zheng, The Epoch Times and that Hunter Biden Cock Pix dude. Just wrote it off due to wishful thinking on their part. Howeve the rumors haven't died down and I don't know why flights would be cancelled broadly.

Certainly the people of China have had a bellyful of Xi's Covid horseshit. Standing in line at 3AM to get tested and praying that the app on your cell phone stays green so you can leave your abode the next day has to be grinding some gears.
Isn't there some Commie Congress going on. In China, not here. Well. But in the Middle Kingdom. Grind gears. I saw once, somewhere. Scotland? Ireland? A device that was a type of box filled with gears and sand and prisoner were forced to use probably made strongers arms n shoulders. Dumb, I thought, like why we allow lifting etc in prison, so make them stronger? I guess idea is burn off aggression. But many years ago I got a postcard. Some skinnynecked kid went down for a statuary rape. The legal mandatory public notice card shows a big, strong, angry dude who probably got 'situations' in prison. Now released and deemed 'high threat repeater.' So let get swoll, get some reverse rapes n fights, and release? Wtf?

Quote from: K_Dubb on September 23, 2022, 03:46:05 PMPoint being, that is how modern intelligence services have always run, and it doesn't take some sort of giant conspiracy theory to see, for example, that 9/11 was mined tirelessly to promote the Bushes' war, from the point of view of the average citizen it doesn't ultimately matter who did it or knew about it, the manipulation and flag-waving jingoism is plain enough in retrospect.

There is some tradition of grand conspiracy theories, but even the little ones, or infighting between conspirators over minor bits can be cause problems! The days, maybe, of a few minions of Kings deciding where borders are or whom shall be tribute to whom are over. Haha on that. I know, I'm racist, because focus more on Europe and the Oriental situations have even longer history of war, intrigues, plots, theories, philosophy of war, criminal syndicates, and wars. But we forget even sticking to the European theater that Italy and Germany (the evil folks) are a recent creation of plots and conspiracies. USA is older than many, even Norway! Gentlemen should not read each other's mail, I seem to recall someone saying. Again. Haha.

911, despite the obvious play on numbers and such, shouldn't be the focus. Too broad and recent, maybe. I think OKC and various flights like TWA800, KAL007, and the Liberty stuff more interesting to look into. But, as you mention, like Angleton (who supposedly went nuts) 'wheels within wheels.'

Sure, like actuarial tables. 'How much is an arm worth?' etc. Triage in an emergency or battle situation. But there is a fine line, and usually (hopefully) not crossed is when an informant, embedded agent, etc is supposed to do something really bad. The FBI has been courting informants and plants within white supremacist groups in this part of the country since I was a kid, you guys need to stop freaking out about it and be smarter.  Just assume anyone calling for some dumb crime or getting your gurns out or civil-warring in your telegrams is a fed, it's what we do.

I think more of a concern is that so many 'operations' or attacks are allowed to go on. Despite informants, embedded agents, outside entities (how-shall-we-say but tribal,) and now in more modern times internet traffic and data where almost everything tracked and monitored. Yet, still allowed to go ahead. Elohim City was fully infiltrated and monitored but OKC still allowed. Or, at minimum, ignored. I seem to recall the old Commie paper and organization made most of their income from FBI etc. Likewise the Klan and various groups. The Muzzies also always get nailed, when it is politically expedient, but ignored when greater agendas can be advanced. People so many 'on the radar' 'previously interviewed' 'was arrested but released' etc. Even more mundane. Look at Whitey Bulger!

I understand that things 'can be missed,' 'problems signal versus noise,' 'political reasons why some shouldn't be bothered or questioned,' but when it become a whole pattern? Can't be blamed on simple government incompetence or bureacratic oversights. At least ALL the time. Especially we see, in many cases, there is that much real concern for civil rights or legal process. FBI doesn't even record interviews and relies on written opinions 302s. The arcane and complex sheer AMOUNT of laws, regulations, and provisions can make anyone a criminal. And most all of it is never voted upon and when it is not actually read by 'representatives.'

Absolutely dirty, abs0lutely legal, the poor sods never saw it coming, they were played, and lost.  Same with the military, handy way to weed out people with conspiratorial impulses, troublemakers, likely to be conscientious objectors, no way they were not going to take that route.

I agree, it is likely a defect, but local radio is so good because you get the random things. And when live events happen (blackouts, someone fly a plane into the 'secret' IRS building, and so on.) But even mundane. Here, for example, the FM listeners used to call in to the AM channel and vice-versa, so you'd get a stoner trying to get free tickets to a rock concert call into a show that is, basically, folks bitching about property taxes and 'those kids.' And some old lady call into to the FM station to bitch about property taxes to a show talking about free tickets and whatever sex incidents. And the hosts on each channel would mess with the clueless callers who are confused about what the heck happening!

The swap shows in places like Arkansas are amazing. "Ok so someone on Route 4 has an old refrigerator he will trade for an outboard motor, he can rebuilt if it doesn't work. The refrigerator works but needs a new condenser, he thinks."

She further informed, in a old and NY accent, how 'she into lots of bird groups' but due to covid 'most were online groups now' and they discuss that one should never rehome birds. Wowsa that went in different directions, and quick from the UCC! She is someone I want to sit next on a plane just for the conversation. In the rare cases I like to talk to others on a plane, and if I'm on the exit row. Wow! Her son is no longer her son? But because Lumeria but she from an undisclosed place in the sky? And the normal 5-G crap but going to 'groups' about it! And the 'mask situation is like a kick in the mouth by a mule!" Jesuits and Chinese taking America! One wants all dead, others want the land. Even Ted Turner will be culled. Will she go 'all in' on Joose, behind both groups, inquiring minds want to know. Linda  the Relevlator! Like old, good Art guests. We got killshots, killzones, ending up in flames, only months left! Queen was a target.
"All plant-life will be dead, after they kill all the people." Even looters "will be cooked alive." Her family worries about her. Amazing.

Quote from: albrecht on September 22, 2022, 01:41:19 PMDave had girl on named Corney, not the normal caller Corny, on last night. But both, interestingly, like to rant about false convictions. Which is a serious subject and one can debate about the death penalty- frankly considering state of most state and federal (non-whitecollar) prisons one might consider the former better than long-term incarceration in general pop or the high-security no sunlight or human contact box treatments.

There was an shout out to Leonard and AIM and Dave was able to google it! This Corney had an annoying voice and, at times, it appeared like maybe one of those 'fall in love' with prisoners via mail situation. Idk. I also have some debate about the whole assumptions. If one accepts that 'life aint fair,' statistical and demographic data, and 'Original Sin' are wrongful convictions really 'wrong?' Maybe, legally, but morally? Got someone for a crime not committed by one who committed many others of which wasn't caught?

Dave didn't understand nuances of law, legal plea agreements, and the 'prisoners dilemma- (brought to you by RAND haha.)

Some caller point out, rightly, more 'white people' on death row and they 'got nothing coming to them and no support.' And bitched about snitches and how to properly make shivs. Including the 'paper ones' that I mentioned hooligans use in the terraces. No recorded message so I don't think calling from prison but maybe on a smuggled cellphone?

Some "ChristianMoney" guy on, again. Guy was bilked by his brother, recently deceased, who embezzled and bought women, substances, and would buy rounds for the whole bar. Very Biblical. But, I guess brother never came back. So, maybe not. Dave perked up on this. Well, the free rounds story. And good for him for getting his act back together. I don't know about him "getting back into the mortgage industry."

"Fan Service" sounds like something someone gets after saki and having to eat while sitting on a mat on the floor. Art probably would have tales. See how depraved media and society has become! Ones thinking goes to base situations. LCD it is becoming. Though, could you imagine paper walls in a modern day city in America? Talk about crime waves with no bail situations!
