Quote from: Dr. MD MD on October 09, 2022, 05:34:40 PMSo, you're saying the globalists are planning on bombing a school and then blaming Putin? Sure, I'd believe that.

No. And because you can't comprehend I'll try to explain it so you can have it read it to you.

Dear Landlady/supervisor/psychiatric nurse, firstly can you explain your tenant/underling/patient isn't a real doctor, he lives under this delusion and has done for some time, and it isn't healthy. Thank you.

Now the crux of what he needs to know. His future homeland Russia that has embraced such as Steven Seagal and Edward Snowden (Both of whom have Russian citizenship) has a former KGB Colonel who is the present President of Russia. Now, being an undemocratic country he has managed to ensure his position for over twenty years with a far from legitimate referendum a few years ago, made sure he'll be there up to 2036.

In that time he's had killed and imprisoned any and all who speak, protest, or otherwise stand against him. Currently there is a political opponent in prison who Putin tried to have killed.

Putin had his troops invade a sovereign country, namely Ukraine, unwanted and unprovoked (Other than having a democratically elected government, anathema to Putin) and having murdered several 1000 civilians and wiped out entire cities, Putin has found he's running out of troops who actually know what to do and equipment that still functions.

Now, MD either knows this and pleads ignorance or he's just an idiot and hasn't the intelligence to find out what 99% the rest of the planet already knows. Either way he needs an intervention, because this can't be a good thing. Your md is a fan of Putin because he's a pseudo fascist, he probably also has friends in jam jars on his bathroom window ledge.

Quote from: Dr. MD MD on October 09, 2022, 05:23:25 PMJust more strawman action from you, Chuffly. Quote where I said anything about the Jews? However, it's clear to anyone but propagnadists like you that the West is trying to provoke a war with Russia.

You guys predefine your perfect evil conservative and then claim anyone who disagrees with you on anything is that. It's beyond pathetic. 🙄

Naturally Ukraine defending itself has nothing to do with Putin ordering his troops to invade Ukraine? How did you grow up so fucking demented? Everything in your world is 1 or 0...

And you claim you're a doctor? Of medicine? I used to be married to a GP, (And met many others) and I can safely say that I never met one who came across as 'thinking' binary unless it was an absolute like alive/dead. They weight up options, medication better or let it clear up itself? Is surgery the only option?

Quote from: K_Dubb on October 09, 2022, 04:11:17 PMWell you can tell by the reference to Fort McHenry which I think was War of 1812 that he is not confining himself to George Washington and the Revolutionary War but rather the glorious things our army has done in general, throughout history, which I am sure included the capture of an airport here and there, though none come to mind at the moment.  I am sure one of our eminent military historians can suggest the specific action or actions he had in mind.  Wasn't Dien Bien Phu an airport or something?  Or Flanders Field, which is still used by flights of Walloons doing touch-and-gos, but I think that was you guys.  Perhaps the "Hall of Montezuma" was the terminal in Veracruz?

I once had Kai Tak on flight simulator.. The original runway into Hong Kong, the airliners lidderaly flying between the sky scrapers. The Finals were from the 'chequerboard' and it was one of a very few that pilots were certified to use from simulators only.

Quote from: Dr. MD MD on October 09, 2022, 09:29:14 AMHey, you're the ones who claim to be the "good guys." 🙄

I just don't want to fight anyone at random, like the Russians for no reason. I know who the real enemy is. It's you and your ilk. You're the ones who must go down for the sake of saving humanity. ;)

You are so unspeakably stupid I find it an almost impossible task to lower myself to your intellectual level.

No-one wants to fight 'The Russians', but Putin, oh I'm sure most of the Russian speaking world would celebrate his head on a pike. Let alone what the Ukrainians...and Georgians...and Syrians...and all and any who have been persecuted by him and his thugs. Not forgetting the chemical warfare inflicted in the UK, that I believe killed two and injured others.

Sure his useful idiot bestie drump lapped up every approving nod and wink from Putin, but that was to be expected, Putin even confirmed in Helsinki he helped drump win! But that's past, and Putin's power trip carries on..he has never forgiven the break up of the old SU, died in the wool KGB, SU through and through.
Ukraine will beat the Russians back, the ones who are left are ill equipped, not well trained, no experience, and frankly feel duped. They were.

You're a Putin fanboy now, but will you be if say he lets go a few kilotonnes on a school? Yes? Because he was 'forced to'?

Quote from: albrecht on October 09, 2022, 02:53:46 PMThe 'crazy' ideas about building vast canals and pipelines for water is now being bandied about, decades later, by some people. Not sure it will go anywhere but, even at the time, it seemed logical idea when we have so much flooding and ice-dams etc periodically but droughts in other areas. Both of which nail our food supply- having too much water and not enough. A more integrated, vast system than the usual reliance on local dams and such. It isn't a new idea but not just 'big dams' like Middle-East and China style but a system to move the water, like we do gas and oil over longer areas than just the stuff in LA etc but take it from the upper MidWest and down. And so on, maybe even Great Lakes or Canada.

ps: this also allows me to quote one of my favorite political quotes ever:
"The Leesburg Garden Club is a nest of Soviet fellow travelers clacking busybodies in a Soviet jellyfish front, sitting here in Leesburg oozing out their funny little propaganda and making nuisances of themselves."

The bloody Romans invented moving water around to help them hold on to what they conquered

Spare me the sanctimonious asswipe. If drump hadn't riled them up from December onwards they wouldn't have gone to the Capitol, and no-one would have been hurt. Quote from: Jackstar on September 24, 2022, 12:22:51 AMWhy are you so salty on Drumpf? It seems like we can work on letting this go.

As we're in a period of détente 😉 I'll view your question at face value and try to answer fully.
When he came down the escalator at trump tower to an appreciative but paid audience, it was considered by many a joke that this so called reality star (In reality he hasn't a clue about running a business) could possibly run for POTUS with any degree of success. He ran on the platform of being unbuyable, and therefore he didn't depend on doners to finance his campaign (Oh did we fall for that one!).

His first political ally was a certain Jeff Sessions, who championed this total political virgin (That went well!); in primary debates his MO (As in life in general) was to basically insult and denigrate the others for any reason, almost always lying to make his point, with absolutely no pretense at being embarrassed he was blatantly mendacious.
Those who really knew him, knew him to be this way and several genuinely believed he'd be found out (Though it was already there in the open) and dispatched to obscurity.
His lies ranged from the bizarre and unnecessary (How many floors trump tower had!) to the disgusting and vile; that he'd lost 'hundreds of friends' on 9/11 and had helped the rescue to dig out bodies. Back in 2001 on the day of the WTC destruction he naturally had to point out that the twin towers were no longer the tallest structures in NY and surprise surprise, trump tower was!

He lied his way through life from childhood because he could. His parents sent him to a military school where one of his tutors wrote later that he was the worst student he'd had the misfortune to try and teach, try because Donny had and has an attention span that lasts seconds at best. He is unteachable not least of all because he genuinely thinks he knows everything or thinks he can fool everyone into believing that.

It quickly became apparent when he took office this would be an issue; things like the DPB that included highly sensitive and important detailed briefings, he had no time for and would quickly move onto his last rally size or the fact someone said something negative on TV about him. This insecure immature and completely out of his depth asshole was the POTUS! His staff tried to tailor the briefings in pictures and graphs to get him to absorb the information, to no avail. He simply wasn't interested in the actual job, sure he wanted the 747, the WH, the adoration, but working? Working is for losers right? And just why did he want/need to take government owned papers to his golf club in FL when he was no longer POTUS? Trade? Blackmail evidence? Revenge?

We've been told innumerable times (By him) he's the most persecuted man in history! The most persecuted billionaire? Probably; no not really! Firstly, he likely isn't a billionaire. He tried to sue Tim O' Brien because of a single paragraph in a biography in which O'Brien stated trump was probably worth in the region of $250 Million and not the 3, 7, 10 billion that trump variously claimed he was worth. In court the judge asked trump how he calculated his worth, and with a straight face trump said it depended how he felt on any given day! The case was thrown out.

In his 2015 campaign to try and garner support he claimed he'd started a fund to raise money for the VA, to the tune of $3 million. What a wonderful generous gesture eh? Well it would have been if that's what happened, but instead less than $250000 actually went to any charity and he pocketed the rest. But he and his spawn left the most disgusting blatant grift for later when they stole millions that was intended to go to St Judes. All of it. The result was he and his equally revolting effluent of a family have been banned for good to hold any official capacity in charitable fund raising in NY state. Who steals from children with life threatening illnesses and isn't ashamed about it? No apology, no remorse.
As a human he's effluent. He's up there with Pol Pot, Stalin, Hitler, Ide Amin. As a politician he's completely useless. His one overriding question his entire life has been 'what is in it for me?' It naturally extended into his time as POTUS, he is desperately insecure, about everything. He reaches levels of absurdity and toe curling embarrassment at times with his lack of vocabulary. He has no sense of humour, at all. To him, 'winning' a debate is just piling on insult after insult most of which is unfounded mendacity. He's cruel; and a bully. And like all bullies he's a coward, throwing even those close under the bus to protect his own skin. There is serious debate over who in his own family he'll sacrifice to get out of any shit sticking to him in the NY fraud cases. Serious because it's likely rather than an abstract construct.

Michael Cohen who worked for him as his lawyer for a dozen or so years was one such sacrifice; Sure he went to prison and paid his dues for lying, but what the trump cult 'forget' to mention is he was convicted for lying FOR trump. Because in his naivety he believed trump, that big believer in 'loyalty' would also take the responsibility of his part in misappropriation of election funds that paid off two women trump had had affairs with; one of whom seven months after Melania gave birth to Barron. Oh the pretzel dancing the right wing Christian evangelists must have with their holier than thou mantras over that one! But naturally, Cohen was no longer any use to trump, and in prison, even less so.

The many accusations of his unwanted sexual advances and even rape almost seem like (but shouldn't) a sideline to his overall disgustingness. He even boasted going into girls' (NOT women's) dressing rooms at beauty pageants, that yes he'd have 'dated' Ivanka if she hadn't been his daughter, though the photos showing that body language interaction might suggest it wasn't just an aspiration.

Throw in his total dereliction of duty on any given responsivity and he's an all round pile of shit.

You asked why so salty? That's a précis. You shouldn't ask how I really feel. It might run to a couple of chapters/volumes.

https://www.businessinsider.com/why-obama-allowed-take-white-house-records-but-not-trump-2022-8

QuoteTrump baselessly bashed Obama for transferring records from the White House to Chicago. Here's why Obama was allowed while Trump is under scrutiny by the FBI.

Donald Trump invoked Barack Obama while bashing the FBI raid on his Mar-a-Lago home on August 8.
Trump and Fox News compared his situation to Obama moving records to Chicago after his term.
The National Archives took it upon itself to dispel Trump's claims.

Former President Donald Trump is no longer satisfied with talking only about Hillary Clinton's emails when it comes to deflecting potential allegations he mishandled classified documents.

As part of his shifting defense following the FBI search of Mar-a-Lago, the former president and his allies are bringing up completely unrelated claims about former President Barack Obama.

On August 8, the FBI executed an unprecedented search warrant on Trump's Mar-a-Lago home in Palm Beach, Florida. It's now known that federal agents were retrieving sensitive White House documents — some of which were marked highly classified or top secret — and that the Justice Department is investigating whether the former president broke federal laws by keeping them and obstructing the probe by claiming that the files have all been returned.

In the days following the raid, Trump and his allies on Fox News delivered the whataboutism defense of Obama transferring records from the White House to Chicago for his presidential library.

"What happened to the 30 million pages of documents taken from the White House to Chicago by Barack Hussein Obama? He refused to give them back!" Trump wrote in an August 11 post on Truth Social. "What is going on? This act was strongly at odds with NARA. Will they be breaking into Obama's 'mansion' in Martha's Vineyard?"

The former president and his son Donald Trump Jr. cited an opinion piece published by The New York Post in support of their baseless accusations.

But the facts don't align with Trump's statements
Tens of thousands of Obama's documents were transported to Chicago. But these items were shipped to a federal government facility — which is what's supposed to happen with a president's records. Federal law requires that presidents and their administrations keep a detailed collection of emails, documents, and even gifts from their time in office since all of those things are actually the property of the American people.

In Obama's case, the National Archives took legal ownership of Obama's documents and then began the long process of sorting through the material before the public could request it years later. Some of this material was then turned over to Obama's presidential library, which is the standard legal process.

On August 12, the National Archives took it upon itself to further dispel Trump's claims.

"NARA moved approximately 30 million pages of unclassified records to a NARA facility in the Chicago area where they are maintained exclusively by NARA," the archives said in a statement. "Additionally, NARA maintains the classified Obama Presidential records in a NARA facility in the Washington, DC, area. As required by the PRA, former President Obama has no control over where and how NARA stores the Presidential records of his Administration."

Apart from the long processes, Obama's presidential library will break from the precedent in that the Obama Foundation will pay for the unclassified records to be digitized in a bid to democratize access to the documents, in what has been billed to be the "first digital archives for the first digital president," according to The New York Times.

Trump and Trump Jr. also drew on a line from The New York Post column noting that, to date, the records transferred to Obama's presidential library have yet to digitize the materials and make them available to the public — five years since the end of his term and when the record transfer began.

Though the delay has sparked some ire from historians and critics, the process of transferring the records themselves often take years, not to mention the task of digitizing roughly 30 million documents to be made available online.

Trump's lawyer, on the other hand, said the Feds took at least a dozen boxes containing sensitive — and some "top secret" — material from the former president's Mar-a-Lago home, according to The Washington Post. The FBI's search warrant was aimed at finding out if Trump had taken documents home with him that should have been turned over at the end of his term.

Though Trumpworld can draw similarities between Trump and Obama both taking records from the White House, the significant difference in how they took the documents explains why the former remains under scrutiny by the FBI and the latter is still in the process of setting up a library unbothered by federal law enforcement.

Upshot: Obama didn't break the law, drump did. But he hasn't said why he moved them to his golf club. And his lawyers haven't said in court that the FBI planted evidence. Trump's legal team pick special master has asked they present evidence that happened, but so far they're schtum on that.. weird, cos drump was keen for everyone to know that nugget of news.

Quote from: Dr. MD MD on September 22, 2022, 11:24:33 PMFrom Wikipedia:

On July 19, 2004, it was revealed that the United States Department of Justice was investigating Berger for unauthorized removal of classified documents in October 2003 from a National Archives reading room prior to testifying before the 9/11 Commission. The documents were five classified copies of a single report commissioned from Richard Clarke covering internal assessments of the Clinton Administration's handling of the unsuccessful 2000 millennium attack plots. An associate of Berger said Berger took one copy in September 2003 and four copies in October 2003, allegedly by stuffing the documents into his socks and pants.[19][20] Berger subsequently lied to investigators when questioned about the removal of the documents.[21]

In April 2005, Berger pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of unauthorized removal and retention of classified material from the National Archives in Washington, D.C.[22]

Berger was fined $50,000,[23] sentenced to serve two years of probation and 100 hours of community service, and stripped of his security clearance for three years.[21][24] The Justice Department initially said Berger only stole copies of classified documents and not originals,[25] but the House Government Reform Committee later revealed that an unsupervised Berger had been given access to classified files of original, uncopied, uninventoried documents on terrorism. During the House Government Reform Committee hearings, Nancy Kegan Smith — who was the director of the presidential documents staff at the National Archives and Records Administration — acknowledged that she had granted Berger access to original materials in her office.[26]

Alternatively.

Asia Janay Lavarello, was on a temporary assignment at the US Embassy in Manilla when she took classified documents from the embassy to her hotel room, according to court filings. She hosted a dinner party at her hotel on the day she removed the documents, March 20, 2020, and an embassy co-worker in attendance found the documents, which had classified markings on them, according to the court filings.
She was working on a thesis and had no nefarious intent. And went to prison.

The poetic irony is under drump, the sentence in prison for such a crime was increased from one to five years. Per charge.

I watched that clip so you didn't have to. It's the benevolant side of me. I don't make a habit of it though, his obvious contempt for drump but him knowing he can milk the coinage is too much for this sensitive soul.

Quote from: K_Dubb on September 22, 2022, 08:14:54 PMWell if the FBI is doing him dirty, this is his chance to say so.  We already know the search warrant was valid because they found exactly what they said they would find.  He will have copies of everything and if they planted anything, he will have to swear by the 30th what it was.  Bet it is nothing.  He is a lying sack of shit but not that dumb.

The clip of Hannity being oh so gentle with the deluded manchild was painful to watch. The look on Hannity's face when drump launched into yet another 'theory' (which he always couches with implying everyone but him thinks whatever batshit thing he's seen on the inside of his eyelids), this time the FBI were looking for Hillary's e mails!! (How does he explain him being in possession of them if true?)
This was after incriminating himself by pretty much admitting he took stolen property to his country club. His thought projection to unclassify anything was inspired, in a perverse sort of way.
He hasn't read (mainly because he doesn't read, too much effort) that the actual classification of the docs is irrevelant to the DoJ's issue with him at this stage. Though I can't see them letting go a possible espionage charge.

Quote from: K_Dubb on September 21, 2022, 06:58:07 PMInteresting, the 11th Circuit went a little further than it technically had to, they are trying to contain the mess made by MAGA Judge Ass Cannon and make sure everyone knows how the case is going to go because you can pretty much tell from this opinion.  The docs were not his whether he waved his magic wand over them or not, somebody at Marga Lardo lied bigtime, search was valid, open and shut.  Not looking good.  Best he can hope for is the defense that he made notes in the margins to his lawyer which would draw attorney-client privilege or drew smileyfaces with a sharpie or practiced his signature on them and those markings are covered by executive privilege, but I don't see that in any of the filings and in any event they would still belong in the Archives.

The 3-judge panel included two Trump appointees.

The decision

Chuck in the civil case outlined today in NY, and the boy donny and his adult children look to be in the crapper. Not been a good day in griftland...I almost feel sorry for him...but he had every opportunity to answer questions, but invoked the 5th over 400 times.

Now, I'm old enough to remember a certain Donald J Trump not that long ago stating on several occasions that anyone using the fifth was guilty...and it's what 'the mob' does... funny that..  ;D

Yes, but that's shorthand for you not understanding the argument being made. There's no shame in that, well, there is a bit.  :-[
