Haha, oh, great. I wonder if rutabaga is taken.

Anyway they could be the reason she doesn't quit. People that subscribed and forgot about it and others who actually believe she keeps getting knocked out and will be back next week.

Instead of getting knocked out, she try getting knocked up, and let the sprog take over the ship. Although she sounds like the 'sorry, I've got a headache' type, so we might need the turkey baster.

I'm willing to give it a shot, baster or otherwise. Let's do this thing!  ;) ;)

I apologise for this post. I forgot to switch off my 'damon' filter.

Hey, I used to be a big Zappa fan, I over listened to him though. I wish I could remove all the lyrics and just listen to the music. I've met two of the Mothers, Ike Willis and Jimmy Carl Black, years apart. They were both nice. Ike let me listen to him rehearse at his house, and Black just spoke to me between sets and expressed surprise younger people listened to that music and liked it. Though he probably thought I was younger than I am.

Zappa people are usually chronics. I went to a party once with a woman I just started dating. She warned me not to bring up Zappa with her friend who was throwing the party...but I had to just to see what would happen. I wound up marrying her friend about a year later.  ;)

There are a couple of songs that stick in my head like Billy the Mountain, Dynamo Hum and Magdalena. I got into them back when I was stationed in upstate NY and CHOM-FM out of Montreal used to give them airplay.  I usually only listen now if I take my ipod out skiing.

I just remembered the line about the rutabaga.

Otherwise its just me and the pygmy pony. Don’t tell Bobo.

haha. that's funny. Sorry it didn't work out. I'm not sure what you mean by 'chronics' though.

It usually never does for most. No biggie. The time we had will alway be magic, etc., etc.

Chronics as in they LOVE Zappa...and usually won't shut up about it.  ;)

I found 'You Can't Do That Onstage Vol. 2' interesting. It's good in it's own right but I think that's the one where they are in Italy singing when, apparently, the crowd gets unruly and you can hear the pop of tear gas going off repeatedly. They eventually get an interpreter to tell everyone to calm down. Anyway, I think that is what Deep Purple was singing about when they sang 'Smoke on the Water'.

Never did understand the constant use of the line “zircon-encrusted tweezers”, but I do have a real poncho.

I think it was supposed to represent the absurd decadence of commercialism, Grav but I'm just spitballing here.

I can't speak for anyone else.  As a Marine, I've ...... endured.  And so have so many others who own the title, MARINE.  We would rather have an individual broken, honestly, through hazing, 'moderate' brutality short of killing recruits or extreme physicality, than suffer the loss of that individual or more likely, the brothers who would die for/with him or because of him.
It is a rare incident of 'hazing.'  Extreme bullshit, yes, routinely.  We will not suffer anything 'beyond the line.'  We police our own.  More does not make the news than does.
The Corps follows the words of Heraclitus, “Out of every one hundred men, ten shouldn't even be there, eighty are just targets, nine are the real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, for they make the battle. Ah, but the one, one is a warrior, and he will bring the others back.”  I  believe that I am right in my belief  that we, The Marines, break, build and offer up on the alter, more Warriors than any other military organization on this planet since the dawn of time.
Friendly fire (especially if it's not real ammo) has it's place.  If you can't Josh around with someone, then it's hard to get thick with them.  Picking on someone is a form of attention-giving.  But it works better if you already have trust.

Like one day I was working a 12-hour day and all I had for eats was one banana.  A guy came over and took the banana just to play with me, but he didn't know that for the next zillion hours, I had nothing left to eat. Later I asked him not to take food.  Maybe everyone in the biz had money, but not me.  I was making high student loan payments, and becoming established (furniture, linens), with a pet that had really high veterinary bills.  So I really needed that banana.  He had only assumed I was financially okay.

And deal breakers should not be part of friendly fire.  What's the point of trying to haze someone if they have already stated they won't go in certain directions or beyond certain limits.  Then hazing just fosters hate, defiance, revenge and resentment.  There are people who won't necessarily break, people who would rather die their own way.

Like, you don't friendly fire a recovering alcoholic with temptations to imbibe.
Or, tease and frustrated your spouse by flaunting images or comments about other sexually attractive people.
Or, actually cause damage, like property or bodily damage.
And no defamation.
And there needs to be a reward, a goal, some sort of understanding.

Also, the target needs to understand what's going on.  If you just pick on someone without making the bond clear, then it just resembles bullying.

I never did figure out who ''Amy'' is, why we would listen to her show, or where to find it.

Has Amy managed to eke out a show yet this year or has she shuffled off this mortal coil due to her various and sundry ailments?

AFAIK, no show so far in 2018.

Last update was from January 3rd when she was in a feverish state and dreaming about Orcs.

paladin1991

I called it back then.  March.  At the earliest.

Amy?  I think the show needs to be called Amy Off The Radio But Hoping For More Free Stuff From Bellgabbers. I wonder how much a working immune system costs.

I wonder if this return will be more successful than her last 5 triumphant returns.  I guess she learned a lot while working with Art on MiTD.
