Well well. My enemy's enemy...

Quote
The billionaire investor and philanthropist George Soros has launched a blistering and multipronged attack on Facebook and Google, arguing the tech giants' size and "monopolistic" behavior had made them a "menace" to society, damaged democracy, and encouraged "addiction" akin to gambling companies.

Speaking on Thursday at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, the Hungarian businessman said that "social-media companies influence how people think and behave without them even being aware of it," adding that they have "far-reaching adverse consequences on the functioning of democracy, particularly on the integrity of elections."

Facebook's and Google's size, he argued, means they have become "obstacles to innovation." He called for significantly more regulatory oversight of the companies, holding up the European Union competition commissioner, Margrethe Vestager, as a model that other regulators should emulate.

He’s just mad because he’s pissed away 100s of millions buying and owning the demokkkrat party, the media, and fake protests. And what’s it gotten him? A Republican House, Senate, and President.

And why? Was it For the same reasons Republicans have always acquired and maintained power? Like Strong national security? A strong economy via lower taxes and less regulations? An uplifting pro American message?

Nope, it’s because of a 100 grand spent by The Putin on The Facebook and The Russian Tweeter bots.

More on the recent SCOTUS case involving "Peaches" or, "the bachelor party without a bachelor" case. Hilarious stuff. But could be a bad precedent- make sure you know the owner of the property before you go to a party. Make sure there is a bachelor if you attend a bachelor party. Haha.

No wonder liberals are always screaming and throwing a fit. We already knew liberalism is a mental disorder, but now a study says they are ugly too.

This article says that this mayor accepted an $8000 bribe in an undercover sting in August, 2012. The FBI just “completed” their investigation. Is the delay because the Obama DoJ did not want to indict a democrat mayor?

How is it political?   Deep state conspiracy to derail a train? Damn risky because one of the truck passengers is dead the other critically injured.  :-\

Just because a bunch of Congressmen were on the train and that is how the news is playing it, so I posted in the Political thread. It doesn't look like terrorism, deep state plots, or whatever but an accident.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The U.S. Justice Department is dropping corruption charges against Senator Bob Menendez of New Jersey, according to a court filing on Wednesday, just days after the trial judge weakened the case by throwing out several counts.

ACLU pissed off that Trump used the word "America" too many times in his speech. One notes that the first word in the ACLU is "American."  :o

Starr going to be disappointed.  :'( Trey Gowdy not seeking reelection reportedly. But maybe he could get appointed to a judgeship, prosecutor, or Justice even?

I should make a thread for news from Australia considering all the stupid crap that is happening on a constant basis.

For example, the government lost classified documents because they were locked in a filing cabinet sold at a second hand furniture store:

I saw that. It is amazing some times how lackadaisical politicians can be handling classified.

I like how they mention that Federal Police (FBI equivalent) has lost 400 documents in the past five years and another 200 were left in an office by a vacating politician, and yet these are both unrelated to the ones left in the filing cabinet.

Now it's causing fallout, with the Australian equivalent of the Secret Service raiding the offices of the ABC to secure the documents and a former Prime Minister suing them for publishing the story as they did.
