One might be fairly safe within the Inner Harbor but anywhere else in the city is a free fire zone.

"Petro is another Maduro," said Marta Quintero, a 54-year-old Bogota real estate agent, referring to Venezuela's President Nicolás Maduro, whose country is confronting crippling hyperinflation and soaring hunger. "All you need to do is look over our border, at Venezuela, to see that the left is no solution."

Only countries with people of European descent or European countries themselves are demanded to take "refugees," "migrants," and illegals and the change their culture, laws, rules- even accepting crimes ranging from petty crime to child rape and terrorism- to accommodate the invaders and respect their "culture." Even fellow Muslim or fellow Spanish-speaking countries aren't forced, or expected, to take in the people closer to their "culture."

David Ernest Duke (born July 1, 1950) is an American white supremacist and white nationalist politician, antisemitic conspiracy theorist, Holocaust denier, convicted felon, and former Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan.

In the late 1970s, Duke was accused by several Klan officials of stealing the organization's money. "Duke is nothing but a con artist", Jack Gregory, Duke's Florida state leader, told the Clearwater Sun after Duke allegedly refused to turn over proceeds from a series of 1979 Klan rallies to the Knights. Another Klan official under Duke, Jerry Dutton, told reporters that Duke had used Klan funds to purchase and refurbish his home in Metairie. Duke later justified the repairs by saying most of his home was used by the Klan.

In 1979, after his first, abortive run for president (as a Democrat) and a series of highly publicized violent Klan incidents, Duke quietly incorporated the nonprofit National Association for the Advancement of White People (NAAWP) in an attempt to leave the baggage of the Klan behind.

Duke allegedly conducted a direct-mail appeal in 1987, using the identity and mailing-list of the Georgia Forsyth County Defense League without permission. League officials described it as a fundraising scam.

Latest Democratic heroine, socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, is, as usual, just the typical rich-girl turned leftist....
https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-06-29/girl-bronx-ocasio-cortez-called-out-fact-check-actually-grew-wealthy-enclave

"
Around the age of five, Alexandria’s architect father Sergio Ocasio moved the family from the “planned community” of Parkchester in the Bronx to a home in Yorktown Heights, a wealthy suburb in Westchester County. The New York Times describes her childhood home as “a modest two-bedroom house on a quiet street.” In a 1999 profile of the area, when Ocasio-Cortez would have been ten years old, the Times lauded Yorktown Heights’ “diversity of housing in a scenic setting” â€" complete with two golf courses.
The paper quoted Linda Cooper, the town supervisor, describing Yorktown as ”a folksy area where people can come, kick off their shoes, wander around, sit in a cafe, listen to a concert in the park, or go to the theater.”
...
Westchester County â€" which the Washington Post, in a glowing profile on Ocasio-Cortez, describes as only “middle class” â€" ranks #8 in the nation for the counties with the “highest average incomes among the wealthiest one percent of residents.” According to the Economic Policy Institute, the county’s average annual income of the top one percent is a staggering $4,326,049.
Yorktown Heights, specifically, offers a sharp contrast from Bronx living. According to USA.com, the town’s population is 81 percent white, and median household income is $96,413 â€" nearly double the average for both New York state and the nation, according to data from 2010-2014.

Grew up by there, been jumped in Parkchester, chased through Parkchester projects, it's a massive shit hole. Moving from ghetto projects to Yorktown heights just doesn't happen, would love to see an account of that.

"Geez," as Norry might say, glad you escaped.
Likely an Obama-like situation with various and sundry mysterious "benefactors" responsible for "moving on up." Also interesting to note from the article that the Washington Post Amazon News called it middle-class. Simply because, aside from a few areas up there and in certain parts Cali, the areas around DC are some of the most wealthiest. Due to government graft and the associated "jobs,"- that cut across both Parties. Example, I know someone who just retired and bought a nice estate in horse country in VA who was a lawyer for a big "contractor" based in N.Va but "operates" all over, so stereotype would say Republican "wants wars etc," but is a big Democrat. The DC system, or swamp, or deep state, as some call it is large and both Parties, for the most part, and it protects, and rewards, its own.

I know it's not popular, but I really wonder sometimes if cruel and unusual punishment should be reinstated.
Just in extreme cases where guilt is obvious, not necessarily this one.  But when a criminal endangers so many people, I just don't think death or life in prison is enough.

Sure.  There are other types though, like a man in the news recently who shot & killed a bunch of children to spite someone for banning him from the place.  People who knowingly murder first responders or public figures.  Things like that, where the crime has ramifications beyond a typical murder.
