Can Noory pronounce anything correctly?

Juan

My favorite non-Art-clip part was when Brinkley referred to that girl Heather, the one Art left his little radio show to.

Oh no.  Another Freedom Checks commercial.

"Welcome to 640AM!  Where we play ALL Freedom Checks, ALL THE TIME!  Now...back to Jack!"

No idea how long it's been since I was tired in the morning because I stayed up listening to an entire Coast to Coast show.

Very nice job, George.  Now we know he has the ability to put out a proper tribute show

Now we just need to get a once-in-a-lifetime broadcaster to die every week to get a decent Jorch show.

Taco Bell

Sorry for the repost - No Mitd tribute show tonight...replay of Dr. Michio Kaku
Figured they may have recorded Coast and would just picked that apart.

He did and he also said that Art was the one that came up with the idea of having Heather invade Area 51.

I'll ask him about it, Dr. Albert Taylor will be joining me soon... weird he was not on the coast tribute last night.

I never had any doubt it was Bell's idea.

Dateline

Could this be true?

I-Heart, in an pinch to save healthcare costs because of the bankruptcy, has issued a memo to all employees to eat healthy.  They have installed juice machines and vending machines of fresh fruit, but all to no avail.. Producer Tom was caught last week with a stash of twinkees and bags of Doritoes under his shirt by the security guards.  He was escorted to the dumpster and was told to dispose of excess food and poundage, but did not comply willingly.  Eventually he did let go, but when a search was made of his office the next morning, a case of Cheetos was unearthed under the submerging artist tapes and miscellaneous Somewhere In Time cassettes.

It is reported that he has been "sent to the beach".  His replacement is set to begin next week, and although the name has not been released.  It is someone who has a deep relationship with the paranormal and engages frequently with social media.  This is a once in a life time opportunity and will benefit Norry by removing his nearest competition. It is all trickery, but Norry has been bewitched by HW.  Names have not been disclosed but is rumored to be Heather Wade.

There is a rumor that HW and Norry have had open lines for a while.  Nuptials and the merger are set to take place in June at Las Vegas after or during the Norry Is Live Show.

I'm glad they didn't have open lines last night (unless I forgot, I was already tired after a long day).  When is the last time that show had any callers worth listening to, let alone hearing a bunch of people sobbing over Art?

He took maybe two or three calls tops. He mixed them in between segments.

I didn't get an opportunity to listen to the AB tribute last night on Coast, but from just about all accounts, it was pretty good.  One thing though....What was Mike Bara doing among the people like Linda, Whitely, Dannion and Ed Dames?  Well, he was probably there because no way in hell RCH is ever going to be on Coast again, but still there has to be a score (or more) of guests that were far closer to Art than was Mike Bara.

So Ed Dames had a "few" beers?  I'm going to find a way to listen to the show just to hear that.

Art was just an enormous talent.  Much more than Rush or any of the other people in the radio big leagues.  And just think of the wealth he has helped to create for others just from the impetus from his show on Coast?  It must be into nine figures, easily.  Hell, George alone is set for life because he was fortunate enough to be able to walk in Art's footsteps without screwing things up enough to get himself fired -- like Mike Siegel.

I still think the "Mel's Hole" saga was some of the best radio theater ever.  Right up there with War of the Worlds.

I couldn't find any links to last night's show. Anybody?

So Danion said that Art was trolling or controlling her, right?

Listening to the C2C's tribute show now.  Was Major Ed hammered?

He used the classic line "a couple of beers," I think. Or something close to it. Plus it likely doesn't take that many with 'little people.'

Isn't his wife Ukrainian?  Figured he would have built up some sort Vodka tolerance despite his lack of stature.

If that is what Dames sounds like sober, then I can't possibly imagine what he sounds like after 'a couple (i.e. case) of beers.'  Geeeezzzz....

Actually, thinking more about this, Dames sounded stoned.

He should have said:  'after a couple of joints'...now, everything he has every said is starting to make more sense.

lmfao!

Morgus

On last night's show Linda Howe told how in the 1990s for her live hour each Sunday night on Art's Dreamland radio show, she would carry a 10"x12" cassette tape recorder with her on interviews. For the show she would call in at a phone booth and hold the receiver up to the cassette recorder's speaker to play her interviews unedited - she had to cue up to the spot each time.

I thought she was still doing that with Jorch.  Must be a bitch finding a phone booth these days.

Missed the tribute last night so I'm catching the first hour rebroadcast now. At around 51 minutes past the hour George puts icing on his tribute cake by saying "We had our differences [he and Art], we kept our distance."

Was it necessary to say something snarky like that? I just don't think it was. I also noticed George sounded extra-bored with his "I'm listening" responses. George in-as-much admitted the tribute is an obligation and nothing more.

Personally I thought George walked the fine line pretty well between being respectful to Art's memory, but also not faking it like they were great buds.  I thought his analogy was actually kind of good, about a guy who sells his car to someone else, then sees them driving around in it later and doesn't like the new paint job.  Haha I mean I know it's an oversimplification, but in a way it does kind of sum it up.

I have some quibbles about last nite, but overall, I think the whole crew did an admirable job of honoring the past, and the foundation of the show that Art built.  Anyway I hope George enjoys the continuation of my good will grace period this weekend, until it expires Mon. nite at 10pm sharp.

El Chorro

Art will always appear the bad guy in their relationship. It's just the difference in their public personalities. I know MV asked George in the last Bellgab why it seemed Art was the angrier one, and George said he'd respond one day. There may be behind-the-scenes valid reasons, but to the casual listener Art comes off poorly...especially now that George is killing with kindness. They're like the Snow and Heat Misers.
