I still think that MITD as itself needs to be put out of its misery. If Keith wants to bring in a new host for this streaming gig, that's fine. But maybe a rebrand is in order. You are more likely to be successful by building your own show based on your own personality. That's why The Unexplained works. That's why Dark City worked. That's why old Coast worked.

If you don't have a very, very good m.c., & often even if you do, panel format is what I find most interesting.  Fortunately most of the shows on DMDN are panel.

Many of the best John Bachelor & Barry Farber numbers have been those where the m.c. in question emceed a panel.  Come to think of it, Howard Stern evolved into a kind of panel format.

IF Heather is serious about being a broadcaster, she could do a lot worse than getting proper professional speech tuition..I can give her the names of at least three teachers, two of whom specialise in Voice over; Radio speech (It isn't the same as VO), and corporate speaking. It starts with being confident and having fun doing it. I don't think Heather has much of the former and doesn't seem to enjoy the latter. She needs to learn voice melody, enunciation, clarity (LOSE the vocal fry) and just work on those three to begin with, then make a show her own, not trying to be Art Bell.

Good point, after listening to the evolution of her show and her behavior now, I get the impression Heather was never interested in being a radio broadcaster. She seemed to be more of a rabid fan, lacking their own stable personality, who envisioned themselves as their idol.

In the past 2 weeks, I said some mean & selfish things publicly to & about people who didn't deserve it.  I'm sorry about all that.  I won't name them now to spare all of us additional embarrassment, but you know who you are, & thank you for putting up w my craziness & forgiving me if you can.  This is not the 1st time I've thrown such a tantrum, & it may not be the last, but the preceding one was [many] years ago, so I think I can forecast they won't be frequent occurrences.

Keith Rowland has told me to apologize on his behalf for his part in the outbursts, & I thank him for his patience in dealing w me.  He thought a week of Art Bell reruns would be a treat for those of you who listen to MITD but don't subscribe, & to make it up to subscribers for the 2nd week of reruns, which he had not planned on but ran while I cooled off, he's extending their subscriptions a week.

Thanks to Art Bell for having given me this opp'ty, & I'd like to honor his legacy by good behavior from here on, so back to biz as usual.  Tonight we have....

I gotta say that reading over Art Bells sworn deposition gives you some insight on what made Art tick.  He certainly valued his privacy, he bought a chunk of serviced property void of neighbours, then as the story of his sons sex assault breaks he has to call the law so that Ramona could get back into the compound after shopping as the news agencies had blocked their drive.

It's OK for Heather to do MITD but was unacceptable for Art to do so, all from the same studio.  The shooter certainly had a bone to pick with Art.
