Good guy engaged and hit the shooter with an AR.  My guess is that doesn't fit your definition of "a basic gun".  Not harassing you, just pointing out the folly of reading too much into news stories, especially initial/early stories, written by reporters who have little to no understanding of the technical aspects of which they write.

No offense taken. It's good to know full details. I will stay say the "bad guy" with an AR killed 26 people, the good guy (and it was great that he interacted into the situation) didn't even fully hit the target where the killer ended up committing suicide anyway. I honestly think that these mass shootings have become so regular that numbers are seen as meaningless. 26 people is the 5th biggest mass shooting in our history (3/5 biggest shootings happened in the last two years) For me it's hard to say "It all worked out let's keep the status quo"

So is Jorch going to have the "More Guns, Less Crime" guy on today or wait until tomorrow

It was Monday, just as predicted here' Lott and Lott somehow blamed Obama for the Air Force screwing up by not putting
the data in that this guy got a record in the military, even though Lott doesn't believe in background checks.

And here is Curtis, eww

All he had to say was this isn't the time and place for it, that it won't be tolerated.  And that fines and suspensions will be issued.

The thing with laws and rules as they only work when the citizens find them just. If they suspend the players but enough players find the rule to be unjust and ignore it you can't really suspend 40% of your employees

Look what happened when the Houston Texans owner said "The inmates can't rule the prison" the Texans player took that threat and protested in mass (more than they did before the statement) similar reaction when Trump got involved.

The NFL did try to do something and (in my eyes) it looks obvious they blacklisted Kapernick everything was pretty contained there was a few protesters here and there but after Trump talked it became a mass protest.

So it looks like his family goes to the church (including his monther-in-law) and it was a domestic thing with his history of violence with his wife.

The story is he was denied a licence but purchased four guns over the years anyways.

By the way are all of these mass murders done with AR 15? But Trump said it not a gun issue but a mental health issue, the same mental health issues that he made a law allowing them to buy guns (which again is not an issue)

While this sounds like something in the past I might have thought George Noory would have said, I'm sure he wasn't referring to me or my cartoons.

Otherwise I don't think he and Tommy have signed one for me.  Or sent a message saying ''we have glanced at the cartoons lol.....be well''.  He also said my ''avatar is hilarious''.  I have to believe we remain on great terms, and plan to see if they are available for lunch if I ever find myself in Sherman Oaks at mid day.

I wonder what he could have meant by his comments.  Perhaps there is a trove of hateful cartoons out there by a talented but misguided person that we aren't aware of.

The Noory photoshop thread was the tipping point for me to make an account and call this place home  ;D

It's so Jorch to take the death of 26 people and turning into making himself the victim with a a pity party because "People are mean to me on the computers" Jeeze I see media people getting death threats online and Noory is triggered over some cartoons and mocking of his show.  ::)

There's an age joke in there somewhere, but I am not taking it because I like Scully

Wasn't that great.  And with two NFL teams recently moved to LA and trying to generate support there.  Fuck 'em.

This might be more of an NFL thread answer, but I am not sure if I would invest in NFL in LA. The weather is too nice in the fall for people wanting to spend their Sunday afternoons in a stadium. Plus most LA NFL teams I know are fans of a bunch of other teams, it will be hard to throw a team from St. Louis and the Chargers and stick them in LA and say "Now this is your team, have a connection with them"

Quote from: 21st Century Man on November 06, 2017, 06:35:06 AM
He's talking about the NFL Commissioner and many of the owners.  Doesn't take a genius to understand that.  Get out of that bubble you keep yourself in.

Right, he wanted the Commish to drop the hammer on these players, like PJs did on his employees when he pays them as little as possible and cut their times to avoid giving them medical insurance.

Again, he blamed the NFL for his business problems, even though his stock was dropping fast (13.5 points) two months (June/July) before the NFL pre-season started. During NFL season (Aug-Nov) it actually stabilized losing only 3 points during those three months. Of course until he opened his mouth at the first of the month which caused is stock to free fall from 68.04 to it's current 59.81 (8 point drop in less than a week) By the looks of it, his struggles seem to be more self-inflicted than anything else.

Yeah, I wondered what the good guy used to challenge the shooter.  You have a source that references what was used?

I got the rifel impression from page 1. But you're right everything post shooting seems oddly vague. Since I last read reports they haven't determined how or who shot the suspect... Huh?

Horrible tasting pizza tycoon Papa Johns blames NFL players for his poor sales. Papa Johns quote  “Leadership starts at the top and this is an example of poor leadership.” Is he talking about himself and taking responsibility his business OF COURSE NOT! he's talking about others and blaming others. When in doubt blame the black dudes.

So I went to check if this past the smelling test and looked at Papa Johns stock market for the year

Nov. 7/16     79.27
Dec 10/16    89.55 (it's peak in the last 365 days)
Feb. 6/17     82.79
Mar 21/17    73.99 (first big dip)
May 1/ 17    78.65
Jun 6.  17    84.75 (start of a steady decline)
Aug 1/17     71.13 (NFL preseaon starts at Aug 3)
Sep 7/17    71.72 (start of the NFL season)
Oct 31/17  68.05 (The day before he complained)
Nov 1/17   62.26 (the day after he complained) it bottomed out at 59.77
Current      61.42 (lowest of the year)

So his stock took a much bigger hit in Feb-Mar losing 9 points and the  summer  and Jun-Aug  losing 13.5 points, both when there was no NFL proest on. During the season PJ went  down 3 points from Aug to Nov (he mentioned his NFL criticism) with his a third of a decline of (Feb/Mar) and a quarter of (June/July) If you look at the full 365 and when he peaked and when the decline started you'd have a better argument his support of Trump might be what hurt his stock than the NFL protest

So (ha) an armed citizen, probably an evil NRA member, engaged the shooter, who dropped his weapon and ran away.

I am not sure if after 27 people died (tied for 4th in US mass shootings) that this incident is the best example of how guns deter crime.

I am not nearly as anti-gun as some might think I am. But it did show, it all took a guy with what seems like an old school rifle to make a difference. It shows a basic gun can do to protect yourself and stuff like semi-automatic that can wipe out dozen of people at a time is only needed for the worst intentions

Why I always respect guys like albrecht even though we disagree politically, you always come to this with a level head. I have notice when this sort of stuff happens there's a very strong and choreographed group of alt-righters on twitter putting out the same fake news.

Congrats to the Texas folks and condolences to the Cali crowd.  Dodgers could never get the big hit they needed tonight

They hit the ball hard with runners in scoring position in the early innings, but it was right at somebody. Have a friend who got tickets to the, must be a let down.

It should be re-titled: Indictments so far and what it means, so far. There will be others, there may even be more added to Manafort and Gates. Mueller obviously is taking it seriously as they had to give up their passports. I wonder what Papodopulas found out for Mueller? Trump said he was a great guy, and as we know, Trump is a tremendous (his words) judge of character.  ::)

A hope Mueller brought a bag as Manafort had 3 passports and registered his phone under a fake name

I think you have to tell every kid who gets his first twitter account, be careful what you tweet, don't tweet everything that's in your head and because who you associate with and post photos of

We should tell that to the 70 year old candidate as well when you try to claim that Mr. Poppypants was a "nothing player" but you picture him sitting at your super duper amazing national security team

That show was a crack up.  Just watched the intro again.  Forgot about the hot redhead slut milf in the final moments.  Wonder who she was.

So many good memories of TV shows, I liked Get a Life, a bud of mine at the time LOVED that show lol.

My selection is an underrated cop show called "Crime Story" which has a regular Noory bumper (which I actually like) Runaway as their theme song.

So is the shooting in NYC the same event as the vehicle going into the crowd?

I heard it was a BBGun or a paint gun. Which not entirely sure why he would carry fake guns. I guess he wanted to get shot after the attack.

Or we could throw it in the false flag heap

Normally John Curtis drives me crazy, but last night his interaction with Jorge was so absurd, that it was oddly entertaining

-Jorge read through the Manafort/Popeypants story and introduces a very hyperventilating John Curtis
-Curtis does his normal nothing to see here routine on any negative Trump story and said the Manafort had nothing to do with Trump
-To my absolute shock Noory asks a follow up question about Poppeypants story is connected to Trump campaign
-Curtis really sucking wind and hyperventilating talks fast & gives the Trump company line of "He was a none player"
-Jorge ends the interview by saying "Well this seems like that start of this story, I'll like to have you back as it goes on"

It was the absurdity of the largest order. Noory wants to talk about this story, his guest adds nothing except "It's a none story" and George invites him back as "expert guest" on a story that the guest does not want to talk about. ONLY in Nooryland  ;D

If Jorge was doing sports and a regular season baseball postgame radio show, he would have a guest on after the game who would say "Regular season games don't matter, it's a waste of time, and baseball is stupid". Sportsradio Jorge would respond with "Okay, I'll have you back after tomorrow game with your analysis"

Pre-Trump the F'ers (False Flag Folks) would be ALL over this

-Sitting Prez having indictments against his cronies and the VERY next day this knocks it out of the headlines
-In takes place in the sitting Prez home town (bonus points for them mostly hating him)
`Sitting Prez has agents all over the city for the year to "family reasons"

I guess Jones is now selective in his conspiracies.

Last night first hour guest was a psychic

Noory remembers fondly back to his local radio days when the psychic would do readings for 3 hours with the callers as Noory takes the night off

Jorge has been a lazy host for a loooooooong time

I'd agree with you, but Nori hardly ever brings up the subject that he left off with at the top and bottom of the hour.

But this was a caller who came back after the break with a total different personality and reason to call

Quote from: Faustina on October 25, 2017, 01:07:21 AM
John Hogue is hitting it out of the park tonight.  I agree with much of what he's saying, which is why I probably feel that.

One of the reasons I keep on listening to c2c:  it regularly has guests on who are thinking outside of the box.  It's the only place on radio to escape from the constant bombardment of The Left vs. The Right turmoil that's infusing most of the rest of the media these days.

I'll give you that. Hogue tried more than most on C2C to at least try to show independent thought.

But a show like this really shows Jorge's bias. When Hogue takes a liberal stance. Norry either stays silent, tries to move on or adds stuff like "Trump isn't a mean person" or "Trump big negative is that he's not a good speaker.

But when Hogue has something positive about Trump and negative on his opponents. Norry is all ready with follow up question to focus on it and give his seal of approval by adding a "That's right" lol

#146
Hum this Michael caller at 230am was starting to talk about Melania being paraded in front of Trump. Sounds like he's hinting she was a trap for him. But when they came back from the break he switched to talking about evangelist helped was the difference in the win.

I really enjoyed that movie. Charlize was great in it. A serious kickass grrrl. I guess not that surprising after Mad Max. But she must have had to train for weeks just for that one fight scene. No CGI or fancy editing and no stand in.  Great fun

I was surprised to see her in The Orville a couple of weeks ago. Kind of seemed like slumming but I guess sometimes girls just wanna have fun

Yeah that fight scene was one of the scenes you think "Wow that's next level stuff"

Charlize seems like a cool chick, willing to do some goofy fun TV stuff. I still remember her role on Arrested Development which I thought was great.

Over the weekend Orphan (09) was on TV, watched it once before on DVD. It's kind of a goofy thriller but has a favorite actress of mine (Vera Farmigia ) in it so i watch it. Creepy adopted kid causing trouble, not bad for a Halloween month viewing  ;D

I think I forgot to put it here but months ago I watched Atomic Blonde the story was a little  convoluted but it was fun. Charlize Theron played a surprisingly good action star. There was a 7 minute fight scene that was a good a fight scene I have every seen that seems to have been done on a one shot
